"Rowdy bunch aren'tchu...." The Strange man at the Lighthouse Finally said annoyed, rubbing his thinning hair
"You need a log pose" He said lifting up his wrist and showed the bracelet he wore, It had multiple bulbs of glass with needles in them, pointing in different directions
“A log pose?” Kirk echoed before peering at the device around the man's wrist. His head cocked to the aide in interest, and his awful mood seemed to lighten a bit in the light of a new device. “But there's three compasses on it… how do you use it?”
“Oh, this specifically is a special one, one that’s near, and dear to me” The old man spoke with a picturesque pearly white smile
He then pulled out what looked to be a watch with a leather band, connected by a golden buckle, at the top of the small wooden platform with a glass bulb over top of the needle hanging down from the middle, the needle seemed to point in a certain direction before suddenly changing.
“Oh well it looks like this one just switched!” He smiled. "Seems your in luck."
He tossed the device to the navigator.
“That’s a log pose. The Grand Line has so many magnetic signatures from so many islands that normal compasses don’t work. That there would lock onto an island within a route”
Kirk quickly reached forward to catch it, carefully cradling it in his hands as he looked at it closer. His face lit up at the explanation.
“Ohh! That makes so much sense! But… which island did it switch too? And why does it switch?” He was in his own little world at the moment, angling the log pose at odd angles just to see the needle inside stay right on course.
"Well, it'll switch between islands until you travel a few miles off." He scratched his head "Well- Its a tad more complicated. But- Thats what ever." Putting his fist on his hips the man continued.
"This First Half of the Grand Line is Known as 'Paradise'." He said crossing his arms. The slight smile never left as he seemed thrilled to be explaining this
"There's in total...Truthfully an Untold number of Islands in this section. Given the Name Paradise as some sort of sick joke by those who've barely seen it and those who've only ever known its horrors. But compared to the New World. I'd suppose this truly would be a Paradise." He said casually looking away. Dismissing the thought
He seemed to regain his train of thought as he looked back to them. Rubbing the back of his head "There Is 7 total routes that are grouped together. Each consisting of multiple islands."

"The Log pose will lock onto the First Island of a Designated route, currently that's on two. And in 30 minutes it'll change over to route three. And if you leave by then, you'll be locked onto and be traveling through the Third Route."
"Each island takes time for the Log To Connect to the Next island. Rather there a closer island or not, it'll connect to whatever next in the route. With few exceptions"
"So each Route is a different path with different islands all connected to one another..." Thought Leroy out loud.
"Yes indeed. Each island is practically it's own adventure or turmoil."
He was personally just as thrilled as the old man to be hearing the explanation! I mean, it’s not everyday you see knew technology in your field, and it was super uncommon for him to find someone to actually talk about it with without boring their ears off, so it was a splendid occasion!
“That’s amazing! I don’t know why I didn’t think about that! I knew the Grand Line would be different but not THAT different!”
Kirk wrapped the log pose around of of his wrists, tying it firmly there to make sure if didn’t slip off or shift around on his wrist. He was still looking at it with amazement. “The second route, huh?”
His dream was now an even more imposing challenge now with the fact there were so many islands and so many routes just in Paradise, but he was ambitious and definitely up to the task. He was glad to know this at least before he got deep into his map of the Grand Line. “So, it’s either route two to route three, Leroy. What are you thinking?”
“Wait… New World? Is it really that bad?” Kirk had to pause after remembering what the old man had said, considering he said it so simply.
The man waved his hand. Dismissing the Idea of what ever this New World was "That's not important for you all right now."
Leroy then mulled it over in his head before smiling "Three! Three's a lucky number!"
"You know you all might as well take a load off or wait in that case while the Log Pose Changes to the third route"
It took a few more minutes, but the Crew Agreed. Moving the ship closer to the Red Rocky surface.
On beat. Leroy ran up to the front of the ship and dropped the anchor before looking up as he walked back out "Wait you said you broke the Whip Staff?" He said, only now realizing what the Navigator had said.
Leroy was already over the other side and onto the Rocky surface of the Mountain. Looking up to Kirk before back to the Man in front of him.
“Yeah, the whip staff broke because of the turn I had to make to actually get to the mountain.” Kirk frowned, clearly a but embarrassed about breaking it and didn't seem to like calling attention to his mistake.
"And another question, who are you anyway?" Leroy picked up after hearing.
