Chapter 11: 20 Questions

Chapter 11: 20 Questions

Much like kirk. He was finally dry. His matted hair now back to the puff of cowlicks and waves. His hair slightly curtaining and framing the sides of his face.

Kirk personally wasn't too worried about what could've been below them, the only thing he had on his mind was what to do next.

Plus if there was any sort of monster below, Leroy could kill it.

"Just wanted to know if you wanted to play 21 questions or not."

The Fishman had a tiny grin as he spoke. He framed it up as a game to possibly get some good information out of the other, maybe slip in a question or two about the chests he had and if he could open them up for him. Maybe some stuff about that devil fruit power?

The only thing he was worried about was the possibilities of what the other might ask Kirk, but if he felt uncomfortable enough, he could whip up a lie real quick. It was what he was good at, after all!

"Or, really, however many questions you want. You did ask for me to be part of this 'crew' of yours, so I probably should know you a little bit better if I'm gonna think about it."

Kirk certainly wasn't gonna be joining any pirate crew. Maybe if he could get enough berries out of them, yeah, but that was about it. His tone was smooth and sweet though, making him seem genuinely interested in this 'crew'.

"Oh sure!"

He said spinning around in the chair. "Pull up a chair from in the cabin and we can get going!"

He'd played this before. It was something he and his siblings did often. He actually remembered when they had stole a Bottle of sake and-

Ah well. That's a story for another time. It was nice to have someone on board.

There was something about kirk he couldn't quite put his finger on. But his intuition told him that this man was to be trusted. Regardless of the fact he was clearly hesitant to being here with him

Kirk responded with a nod and pushed himself off of the railing softly, walking back into the cabin.

He was already going through the possible things to ask in his head. There were some light questions and some heavier and specific questions, but he know he couldn’t just flat-out demand what was in the chest or something. He’ll sprinkle that in at some point along with softer things. Seemed like that was the best way to go about it.

Kirk grabbed one of the chairs, picked it up, and brought it back out to the deck beside the other before setting it down with a reasonable distance between the two and sitting in it. He crossed one leg over the other and brushed back his hair again with a hand.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“I can start it off.” Kirk chuckled at the other, giving him a soft and pleasant smile.

“Hmmm… this might sound… silly.. buuut.. do you actually have devil fruit powers? Or is that… stretching, thing something different?” For a moment, he revisited the horror he felt watching a man wring himself out like a towel just a while before.

“HAHA…Yeah…Id certainly say so.”

“I ate the gomu gomu no mi. And it turned my body into rubber. Every part of my body from my muscles to my very blood vessels are rubber. If its made of me, and its solid. Its like rubber.”

“Stretch, control, a bunch other too. I’m a rubber man.” *Leroy pulled his arm to demonstrate*

SNAP. The arm retracted back into place.

He then thought for a moment trying to think of a question.

“Hmmm…whats that staff youve been carrying around for?”

Kirk watched with wide eyes as his arm shot off and then snapped right back. He held back a shudder; that was going to need some getting used to.

"A rubber man, huh?"

Yeah, his mind went a few silly places about the extent of this ability which he didn't dare ask about. Considering Leroy's personality, he'd probably be really lighthearted at a question like that, but Kirk still found it too inappropriate to ask.

"Interesting, sounds pretty useful. Though I'm not entirely sure how you could've done so much damage back at Shells with just some rubber."

"Man, and I thought those fruits weren't real. I couldn't imagine not being able to swim again, either." He wouldn't be a Fishman at all after that if he couldn't swim. Even more disgraced.

Kirk blinked a few times before he shrugged "Oh, my staff?"

"Well, I need something to defend myself with. I don't like fighting, but I can sure smack the hell out of some dolt with a pole. It's easy to carry around too, it can collapse into a little cylinder."

"Ha! Thats cool!" He said reeling his head back. "And, Well...To be fair. I never really swam a lot as a kid...But at time. I wished I would take a swan dive into those beautiful azure seas..." He sounded surprisingly sincere. Turning around and looking at the beautiful sea, the dusk quickly approaching.

“Well, I mean, if someone swims down and catches you soon enough, you could always just dive right in.” Kirk mentioned towards the water. While Leroy WOULD become paralyzed and half dead already as soon as he was in the water, it was true that someone could just drag him back up so he didn’t die…

"As for where Am I from? I'm from Goa. Grew up in-" He stopped for a second, looking back at kirk before continuing to talk "In a small village kinda. That and the Shack in the woods."

“Interesting. Must’ve been real pretty there, huh? I’ve always wanted to go, I’m sure they must have some wonderful sights there. I don’t know if I could stand how crowded it might be though..” Little did Kirk know, Leroy rarely ever went into the city of goa.

"It had it's moments. And I consider it home. But if you think seeing bloodshed, run down shacks, or just people living in sullenness as the rich of the Kingdom looked down upon us?"
