Chapter 167: War Is Hell

Chapter 167: War Is Hell

Minutes after Leroy's Departure, the Remaining Crew had made it to Aluba, near one of the many giant staircases that lead directly into the City. The Stairs were huge, at least a hundred feet wide. And went up over a hundred feet as well to the main city proper. From here the crew could already hear just how much Chaos had Erupted. Full All-out War.

The Stairs were littered with Corpses. Bodies left laying on the stairs. Agents and Revolters alike. Some of them had gunshot wounds. Many had brutal strikes to their bodies, cleaved, chopped, and stabbed. Blood pooling down the once pristine stairs in a waterfall of crimson…Jeanne had a look of shock and horror on her face. She’d never seen anything like this, in this quantity before, Her nerves Racked her, but she breathed through her nose, and steeled herself just as she had with the Supersonic birds.

There was one bright side to the Carnage. There weren’t any Agents of The Chyros Trading Company. But also from the looks, there weren’t any breathing revolvers either. Kále gripped the Hilt of His sword as he looked at the Carnage. "Seems like this war really is hell."

"Yeah..." Spoke Jeanne. Her rifle in hand as they began to ascend the Stairs.

“The quicker we move, the quicker we end all of this.” Kirk said to the crew, trying to trudge ahead. He spoke mainly to fortify himself and keep himself calm, becoming freaked out by the amount of blood and gore they were surrounded by. He had to just bite down on his tongue and keep his eyes up and ahead, not sparing any galnces to the corpses. Kirk had his staff out at the ready, craving a bit to smack the hell out of one of these Chryos agents.

Noir manuvered carefully over the corpses, looking down at them with pity and sorrow. It hurt his heart to see it like this. He didn’t dare touch the bodies though, it would just add salt to the wound if he stepped on a hand or something of the sorts. “Let’s just hope it didn’t spread too far.”

Dezzi would avoid stepping on the bodies making sure not to disturb any of the bodies, they sometimes stopped and checked if anyone was still alive, but none were “this is... awful, and I’m willing to bet this is only a fraction of how many are inside the city” they kept going, moving a bit quicker with every corpse that they inspected

“Yeah. No Doubt about that.” Said Kále to the Doctor as they all ascended the Stairs

The Stairs were massive. And took almost a full minute to run up. The Closer to the Top, the more bodies of Chyros Trading Agents could be seen. Adorned in a Variety of clothing. From armor to leather, to normal dress clothes. Hornigold Rackham was famous for his Chyros Trading Company, a Company that specialized in trading all sorts of goods. Including soldiers. Serving as a Private Military that was bought and traded with as security to other Pirates and other Nations all across the World. It was one of the Key reasons why King Ramze believed that Rackham truly was someone helping the Kingdom.

Stolen story; please report.

As they reached the top of the stair, the view they saw was surprising. The Revolting Force of Arabasta had set up camp! Many Revolters sat on makeshift wooden seats, small tents being set up. Medics bandaged and worked on the injured. With the Guarding Revolters near the front suddenly reading their weapons as the image of the Crew came into view!

Blades and Rifles pointed to the group, Jeanne raised her hands Nervously “Woah Woah Woah! Friendly Friendly!”

Kále tightened his Grip on The IV. Seeing such a sudden threatening reaction, the scabbard tilted down ready to be drawn and blurring speeds! But the swordsman's guard was soon dissuaded by the Revolters easing up and lowering their guard as they realized who it was.

“Oh, it’s you guys. Finally!” Spoke a larger man with a long polearm, a look of relief over his face. His arm was bandaged and bloodied. The shorter man next to him that held a Springfield Rifle spoke “Yeah, took you long enough. Shits gettin’ bad out there.” He looked worse for wear compared to his partner, half of his face left bandaged with a deep splotch of crimson indicating the loss of an eye.

“So, you guys the only ones left?” Asked the Swordsman, he tilted his head to the side. This situation was one of those few times that he was fully invested. Someone from behind the two Guards spoke, a woman who was stoking a fire in front of her. “Here? Yeah. We’re holding off this position. Making sure no one gets in or out.”

“But there are Forces all throughout the entire city, making their way closer and closer to the City Square, Muhimun. You all best not waste time. Whatever it is you’re here to do, you better do it quickly. We’ve been getting transmissions from Squads places in the City that the Chyros Trading Company’s ‘Pure Gold’ agents have been put into play…”

“…’Pure Gold’?” Kirk questioned, cocking an eyebrow up in confusion. “What’s a Pure Gold agent? We didn’t hear anything about that.”

“Yes. There are 5 top agents in the Chyros Trading Company. Each one of them is said to be total Powerhouses.” The Woman spoke. One of the men in front of the Fire spoke up next. He was badly beaten and battered. “Yeah. And it clearly seems to be true. Those guys are out there Causing Havoc…” The Revolter hung his head, exhausted from the fighting he’d done.

“Not to mention that the Marines are supposedly making their way through the City as we speak. They came in from the Docks.” Said a Revolter with a headset on their head, intercepting Transmissions from all across the City “They arrived about 15 minutes ago…”

“We got a Transmission from the Docking Yard that Battleships had arrived. Highest Rank among”

“Which means you all better get going!” Said the Polearm-wielding Revolter, moving out of the way to let the Crew pass. His comrade next to him doing the same, giving the Crew a clear path through the encampment

“We should probably split up now. Make our way to where we are needed…” Spoke Jeanne, slinging her Steam Weapon from around her back and into her shoulder, hiding it under the Cloak she wore. Sweat dripped down her temple from nervousness

Quickly, the Crew took that as their cue and picked up the pace, splitting off into different directions throughout the Entire City. Jeanne going off to the Northwest, Kirk and Dezzi and Noir Heading through the Southeast, and Kále heading West.
