Kirk gave a sigh under his breath. His mind speaking on its own just as Leroy's had
He thought back a bit further to the things he had been shouted at many many times. "Well, to some people, Fishmen are just as bad as pirates, so might as well group them." Kirk was certainly bitter about the things he was assumed to be just because of his race, having heard so many things over and over... but he ended up being half of those things anyways, so why was he angry?
But that last thing Leroy had just said brought him back to reality. "Wait, what? Really?" Kirk looked back at Leroy. "Why the hell would you do that? Aren't pirates supposed to be greedy? You'd really give me some money?"
Yeah... this was the weirdest pirate ever. First, he goes off and saves a whole town just because of an old lady being so hurt over it, now he's just helping him with that big debt he was in? He didn't know pirates could be... kind. Kirk looked down at the chest as the lid flicked open.. And his jaw DROPPED.
He was utterly shocked. "You... you just had this all on you?!" Kirk was about to jump off of his seat and start going through the treasure but managed to hold himself back. He leaned down close to it though to get a good idea about what the hell was in it. So... so much... so much gold! And jewels!
This could be worth so much! He nearly didn't hear the rest of what Leroy was talking about, his head whirling. Kirk looked up again at the pirate. "A whole crew?! Which crew did you take THIS haul from?! This is crazy!"
“Steady Bonney” He said simply and plainly “Go ahead and go through it, I don't even know how much is in there. Those cigar boxes alone would be worth while.” He bent over hand ran his and through the treasure before picking up the bottle and setting them down in front of the box, whiskey, vodka, rum, tequila.
“….Steady… Steady Bonney?” He froze for a moment. “You’re… joking, right? Are you sure you’re thinking of the right person? THE Steady Bonney? The Mad Clown? The one with that huge ass crew and is like… oh, I don’t know- one of the most infamous pirate captains in the East Blue!?” Kirk leaned down and picked up a particularly pretty golden necklace and put it up against himself, looking at his outfit and pairing it. It was unfortunate that gold didn’t look good on him. He started to look through the jewels and other things inside. “Hell, this is worth thousands at least!”
"Yeah, that guy. I had no idea he was all that. None of his Guys even landed a scratch on me. They honestly sucked." He spoke resting his arms behind him and stretching his legs out. Almost like he was kicking back. Trying to relax himself
"I only know his name cuz he wouldn't stop screaming 'I'm the mighty stedey bonney! I ate the Piece Piece fruit!' Like what ever, I still sent you flying HAHAHAHA!" He let out a hearty laugh as he thought back to the beat down he gave the crew.

"He was also a coward and a slaver. Ran away and left his crew behind after I kicked his ass." He then looked down and watched as the Fishmen Fondled with the loot. "Probably at least a million berries in there I would say. Going by the large stacks of denominations."
By that point the Sun was beginning to dip over the horizon. The stars beginning to shine brightly across the night sky
Kirk wasn't sure whether he was just bluffing about not getting a scratch or he was being completely serious, but he didn't care. No doubt he did go up against that terrifying team if he had this much treasure! He couldn't help from picking out a small ring and putting it on his finger to feel all fancy as the both of them kept talking.
"Well, guess that is sorta what you get when you let any power-hunger guy join your crew, just a bunch of weaklings acting all tough. Heh, maybe that small crew idea you had was actually good." He glanced over at Leroy as he let out a deep laugh, taking the ring off before putting it back into the treasure chest, knowing he was gonna have to hold back his greed for a bit longer. A million berry?
That would certainly help him... he just was going to have to try not to feel bad about stealing it from the other when he made his escape.
"With a 'piece piece fruit' or whatever he had, I'm sure it couldn't have been too powerful. No wonder he was a coward. What did it even do anyways?" Kirk moved his eyes up to the sky, spotting the beginnings of a new night. He sighed... peacefully. It was nice to be so relaxed, especially with someone so near him.
"You know dolls? Or Action figures? How their arms have those ball and sockets? It was that. He popped apart and controlled his disconnected limbs." He said waving his arms and hand to paint a picture of how the power looked Truth be told he rather enjoyed speaking with kirk.
It was nice to have someone just to be around Regardless of how hesitant they were, but seeing he was honestly rather comfortable. He paid no mind to it.
....ok, now he had to.
"Wonder if he could pop everything off of him." Kirk raised his eyebrows playfully before cracking up at the thought, putting a hand up to his mouth as he giggled. He was surprised that he was having... some sort of fun talking to a pirate of all things.
