Ok! Eight hours wasn’t too bad! While it was longer than Kirk expected, at least it wouldn’t take days. They could find a place to stay and get all of their supplies by then, and as soon as they wake up, they could head to that dinosaur island!
'…wait… DINOSAUR ISLAND??'
Kirk was instantly looking alarmed… though he soon calmed down and just assumed it was a bit of a joke or something. It HAD to be, Hennessy quite literally said ‘prehistoric’, which meant those things were PRE historical, very dead and very gone!
Well.. at least they were on the BETTER side of the bounty hunter island. All they had to hope for was that Leroy wouldn’t let it spill immediately that he had a stinking high bounty and they would be good!
“Aaaand of course, Kále happened to go to wander over to THAT side.” Kirk grumbled a bit before sighing. “At least he doesn’t have a bounty..” He eventually just dismissed it. If there was trouble, he was sure they could hear it from over the river or something.
“We just got here from the East Blue. Actually, this is our first island!” Kirk said while adding onto what Leroy was saying, hoping the name of the sleepy sea would off put the fact their captain had a 56 million Berry bounty on his head. “Do you know a good place where we could spend the night?”
Hennesy Smiled as He responded "East Blue huh? I've Heard there been some activity in there..." He said with a smile look. Did that mean he knew? He knew who they were? This was an island of bounty hunters. So all of the active hunters being up to date on all the current bounties made sense...especially of one of decent size like that of the captain.
Leroy then put his hands on his hips and spoke "Yep! That was probably me!" he said with a confident grin, he didn't exactly yell it. But he did speak with enough of a confidence in his tone that it told the Constable everything he needed to know
Kirk almost exploded at that. But the next words from the Constable were reassuring.
"You are a crazy one you know that? Saying that in front of a Bounty Hunter?" Henessey chuckled
Leroy then shrugged. "Well...Are you gonna do anything? I think I could take you if I needed to." He said with a confident grin. That look that kirk had seen every other time he spoke about his prowess in battle
"Tch, you are a bastard you know that?" Joked the constable "But no. I won't. Unlike the others at Whiskey. We make it a point to keep business off the Island. That is unless someone is challenged to a duel. But those rarely ever happen, and are usually over some since pride." Explained Henessey
"As for a good place to sleep, theres a few decent inns around the Town, I'd recommend the Tipsy Inn. They got good drink and decent food."
"Theres also the Tonic General Story as well, sure and any thing else you may need. Theres also Gin's place that's got lumber and utility. Scrap and the Like for Machining." He said thumbing over his shoulder.
Jeanne scratched her chin. An island full of bounty hunters. That was gonna be interesting. Hopefully noone started anything with Leroy. Especially with Leroy admitting to his bounty and everything. Hennessy mentioned Gin's place for her particular needs. How fortuitous. "Well I know where I'll be headed before heading to Tipsy Inn.", she says before stretching a bit. Something else this man said interested her more.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"What can you tell us about this next island though? Prehistoric you said?" this made her interested. Imagine what sort of chemicals she could find. Plants and animals extinct for ages! It was like a treasure trove!
“Oh I’m by no means exaggerating when I say prehistoric, Chriton Isle is infested with Dinosaurs straight out of millions of years ago. Viscous Beast.”
He says as he waves his hand for the group to follow him to the Tipsy Inn.
“I’ll walk you to the inn. Might as well do the curtesy” He then continued as they walked down the dusty flattened street. The Buildings around them were simple. Far more simple than the ones that they'd seen at Louge. There were those that were made of wood, and stood at a few stories. Patios out front. While other buildings were pueblo style. Made of packed and dried clay or carved from sand stone.
“Chriton had the occasional hunting parties go out, a big deal for all those who want to hunt the most dangerous game bar a sea king or a dragon!” He chuckled at the reference to the mythical beast. There'd been stories of flying beast like dragons for generations. At least once a year you'd hear people talking about how so and so saw one. But- It was a fact that they are in fact real. Or at least were.
“The meat and hide from even the smallest of those creatures fetch a high price in the millions if you know who to sell it too. There usually a ship posted off the coast that people go through for advice or to have hunting guide take them through the island. Or to sit near for protection while a log pose resets.”
"Has anyone ever come back with any oddities? Weird toxins and such from the beasts and plant life?" Jeanne would ask. She was practically foaming at the mouth now. What she could do with things not seen on this earth in thousands of years.
"Meat, hide and hunting doesn't concern me.", she says as she scratches her chin. "Unless of course this meat and hide has unique properties that you have noticed." Jeanne looked as if her whole world was just expanded. A sea where islands full of previously assumed extinct creatures exist is on this world? What else could the Grand Line hold? It made her previous experiences seem so narrow.
Hennessy shrugged as they continued walking down the road. People walking past them in simple cool clothing. Some wore leather, most wore boots. Plenty had scars on their faces and carried weapons at their hips. But it was obvious they weren't on an active hunt. “Cant say that I know. I've never been on the island myself. I heard theres all variety of creatures and plants unlike any other island.”
Strange plants and unique animals were tokens to every island with few exception. Rather that be common animals with their own unique habits to said island that the other blues. Or entirely diffrent sub-species or breeds that only those islands had. The Islands of Botan and Fung were prime examples of this. The large sprawling glass dome of Botan covered the entire Island. A place where so many unique fauna and flora from many places were. As for fung, the Island of Mushrooms was filled with fungi that was both beneficial and treacherous to those that lives in the and on the mushroom Isle.
