Leroy spun around on the palm and looked at her.
It was true what she said. A Captain that always focused on the bigger things while the crew focused on the smaller.
But the opposite was also true. The captain also needed to lift up his crew just as much as they supported him
"I'm feeling Tuna...Oh or Salmon!"
Kále was back to the weights again. He had the weights on the long pole again, only this time they were only on one side of the pole.
He then began swinging the pole back and forth, almost like a batter would swing a baseball bat. Over and over, he would swing the pole, creating a smooth wind current to move around the ship.
"I could go for some tuna, one of those really big ones that can flip boats when they're caught!" The sound of some tuna was certainly nice, making his mouth water at the thought of it.
Though this made the swordsman think 'Isn't it kind of cannibalism for a Fishman to eat fish? Or is it just the specific type of fish that the fish man is... Kind of a weird loophole to find yourself in.'
Lucky for the Swordsman, and The Navigator. Fishmen weren't technically fish. They merely looked and had similar organs for breathing. They didn't lay eggs. They shared Blood Types with humans, minks, the furry, fuzzy humanoid people of the world, and giants the exceptionally strong and tall race of people. As well as having hair which would classify them as mammals.
Jeanne nodded enthusiastically as she walked to the the storage. It would take her only a minute but she would return with two fishing rods and a small tackle box.
She then walked towards the bow of the ship and set everything down. "Alright so. This type of lure that imitates the swimming of an injured fish and makes a noise while the lure is reeled in. The point is to reel it in slow so fish are attracted to it.", she says as she sets up two lines. She would then cast out one of the lines to demonstrate how to do it. She reeled it in slowly, lifting the line occasionally.
Unfortunately nothing decided to bite on her line during the full couple minutes she reeled in, but she figured it was a good example. "Here. Just try not to get the lines tangled.", she said as she handed the other fishing rod to Leroy. "Here's hoping we catch a big one."
Leroy sat on the railing of the ship. the fishing pole out in front of him the seas were incredibly calm. There was some light wind so the Ship bobbed and moved forward.
The bait bouncing slightly.
"We're in the Broad Sea, so you two should be getting some good bite." Kirk said as he rested his head back on the sunchair. Hair slicked back as his light orange skin shined. The small white wave like patterns just before his eyes reflecting even more. The fishmen had been carful to keep his koi whiskers cut, and the fins behind his ears down. Basking in the sun helped his take his mind off the pain.
Cast and Reel, Cast and Reel. Cast, wait a few minutes. Reel back in. Jeanne and Leroy sat next to each other doing this again and again for close nearly an hour. And the frustration had finally gotten to the Captain

"UGHHHH! C'mon FISH! Theres NOTHINGGG" He practically whined as he leaned backwards. Head falling limp, hair messily falling
"I forgot how boring fishing can be when it's not active..." The then pouted
Jeanne chuckled. Reeling in her lure slowly. "Are you doing it how I showed you or are you just letting the lure bob with the waves?"
“I know how to fish! Grandpa taught me how to fish!” He Retorted with a slight frustration as he did exactly what one is supposed to do. Bobbing it and reeling it in trying to lure the fish in . His grandfather regularly took him fishing when he could growing up.
"This isn't just some set it and forget it bait.", she says with a smile as she casts out her line once more. Maybe her design needed some tweaks? Fisherman always told her it worked well. Maybe the fish out here were after different prey species?
“Fuck it.” He said reeling it back in before leaning back and before using an absurd amount of strength to cast it far out into the sapphire sea, the entire reel almost completely cast
“Maybe i needed another spot”
"Pshshshs. Thats quite another spot there cap" She brought a hand to her mouth to cover her chuckle
“If you two can find a long enough, and I mean LONG rope" The voice of the Navigator broke through " I’ll dive for some." He was still looking down at his journal despite all of the time that passed.
“Just know, I’m not eating it.” The fishman said with a scowl. He just hated fish. Why? He just didn’t like it.
“Just know, you’ll have to pay for my services.” He gave them a cheeky grin now. “I’m not just a free fishing rod.” He closed up his journal, finally done for the day. He was glancing up at the swordsman every so often. He knew that the slam of the weights would come soon enough, and he was getting ready to make some of those threats a reality.
Jeanne shrugged as she reeled in her line one last time. "How much do you want Kirk?", she would ask as she tied the lure to the rod. Leaning on the railing.
"We can cook you something other than fish.", she said with a shrug. They still had supplies, but adding fish to the menu would help stretch it out longer.
"If it's too high I'd rather face my luck with the rods psihihihi!", she commented as she looked out to the waves.
She would have to test some different designs out. The fish out here were different than the ones near Orange Town. The Grand Line was probably the same. More unique species with their own predatory habits and everything. It would require rigorous testing and she couldn't count on Leroy's impatience and Kale's forgetfulness with it.
"How about....10,000 berry." Kirk said with a cock eyebrow rubbing his thumb and index together
"What seriously? 10,000 just for diving?" Jeanne shot back with a confused look.
"No, you mistake me. 10,000 for each!" The Navigator pointed a finger to emphasize his point
Jeanne and Kirk began to bicker back and forth with Kirks Berry pinching scheme and swindle.
