Chapter 101: Rainy Day

"And Here you are cap" Noir slid three large plates in front of the captain. The ceramic clattering gently against wooden table in the Galley. Kirk behind him at the whip staff, gently making sure that they stayed on course. Rain gently drizzled onto the deck of the Horizons Palm. Heavy and Hazy overcast meant that Kirk had to be on constant look out to make sure they we're going off course.

"Full Captains Breakfast." Leroy sniffed as he raised his head off the table, having fell back to sleep in the Early morning. "Ohhhh! Awesome!" The Captain said sleepily.

Full Captains Breakfast. A Large and Common Breakfast that's typically one of the first things that Chefs learn how to make. Simple, homely, and filling. Consisting of Cheese, Hash Browns, Mushrooms, Sausage, Bacon, Fried Bread (Or Toasted) and Eggs, Fried scrambled or Boiled served with Typically Tea, Water, or Beer.

Leroys choice was a larger serving of Hash Browns instead of mushrooms, with Hot Sauce, two boiled eggs, along with scrambled. And Green Tea, with water to was it all down.

Earlier in the morning in fact, Jeanne had spent an hour on the Bike under the stairs to generate both electricity and to draw up water using pump that went through a filter to produce clean non-salt water to be used by both the sinks, showers, and toilet. So the water was fresh and cooled with Ice from the Refrigerators small Ice box that sat on top of it.

The rest of the day was the crewing getting up to their standard stuff. It was persistently raining the entire day. Trying to keep themselves busy. Jeanne spent her day smoking her hookah in the crews quarters, away from the others because she knew how much it annoyed Kirk. Especially when Kirk was actively charting out a map at his desk.

The penmanship that the Navigator had was exquisite. He had been the one to actually give Jeanne and Kirk some draft for the Jolly Roger. Quite a few, which was why he was surprised to see the Jeanne, that handywoman she is, chose the first design.

Currently, he was using his specially bought dip pen to ink the shore of a coast that he had sketched in his journal. The detailing was so precise that it could be used by anyone, even someone that couldn't read normal maps. He'd spend hours on a single map, painstakingly recreating compass roses, and the information he had.

Even if a place already had a map, such as Louge Town. He'd always draw his own once they were gone. He was lucky in that case, that there were collections of Atlases for certain regions, and parts of the ocean, from older maps that showed what the island used to look like, to the current layout.

Then there were maps that were poorly hand drawn. And Islands and Seas that had little to drawn about them. But a single, total. Unified Atlas of the World, along with a full world map that includes the entire stretch of the Grand Line, doesn't exist. Many attempts had been made in the past, but due to the treacherous waters of the Grand Line. Almost all failed. And those that got close, gave up.

Kále stayed in on deck, getting soaked in the process. His routine was constantly working out, sleeping, training, and then Meditating. Currently he was doing curls with Ludicrously large weights that came out to 35 tons each. "55...56...57...58...59...60!"

The Weights clattered to the ground as he bent forward to set them done, only to the strip down to underwear and tie a rope around his waist before buckling his scabbards to his waist and jumping over board!

"Did-Did Kále just jump overboard or am I just high?" Jeanne asked with red eyes.

"No. Ugh-" Kirk let his head hang forward. "He jumped..."

"Eh I'm sure he'll be fine." Ka-Crack! Lighting streaked through the air! Flashing blue across the sky as the rumble of power shook the water and wood.

"Uh- On second thought. Lets give him an hour"

'C'mon you beast!' Kále screamed in his mind as he held his breath and floated beneath the Horizons Palm. Unsheathing his Brand New Cursed Blade Kikumori and Sujikiki. From with in the dark, the water was disturbed! Schools of fish swimming away from him.

Only from below, the sudden disturbance to awaken a giant squid! Almost 100 meters long! It's long tentacles slinking from the depths and up towards the ship and the Swordsman, thinking of both as it's prey! 'There we go'

Allowing himself to float forward, aiming his body towards the Squid, Kále Kicked off the water! Leaping of the water itself to rocket forwards faster than a torpedo! 'Nitroyu...' the Swordsman raised his swords in front of him, bubbles shooting around him as the tentacles came pouncing towards him!

'Samidaregiri!' May Rain Slash! In the blink of an eye, Kále swiped his swords from side to side in a flurry of strikes all around him! The Pieces of Squid disconnecting and bleeding into the sea! Causing clouds of blood to form as he passed through the entire huge body of the squid! The Torrent of slashes tunneling his way through! Only stopping on the other side!

Chunk after chunk of squid floated up to the surface, mixed in a cloud of red murky dark water and other viscera.

Breaking the surface. The rain had returned to a trickle. Kirk and Noir having an Unamused Look on their faces

"You're gonna help us clean that up you know." Kirk said with a roll of his eyes

"Yeah. Like hell I'm gonna let you have all that squid go to waste!" Noir reprimanded.
