“The beginning of everything, huh?” Dezzi was quiet when they said that. They were having a war with themself and they weren't sure which side was winning, they wanted to join this crew, they had faith this crew would be good. But they were also terrified that this would come back to be the wrong choice “I suppose there’s no way to know what will happen if I don’t try, right?” They were looking for some form of confirmation, even though deep down they knew they didn't need it
"You'll never truly know..." She says as she takes their hand and holds it with both of hers. "So. Are you ready to get your things?" There was so much going on inside of Oslar. She knew Dezzi was more than ready. But above all else, it was this person...Falcon D. Leroy. That intrigued her above all else. Someone who bore the Initial of D. Something that she knew as 'The Will of D.' And then to hear that they sought to become king of the pirates. And the kindness that they showed Dezzi...She had the feeling that this was it. This was exactly what Dezzi needed.
The two walked up the Stairs. Up into the loft and into the room that was Dezzi's room. Everything a Doctor and young kid would need, and then everything a teenager like them would too. A bed just right in the corner.
"Make sure you've got everything! Clothes too!" She said in a motherly way. "Right!"
The two spent hours up in that room. Going over some of the lessons that she'd taught them. Like a pop quiz. But also reminiscing in the memories of the Clothes she'd bought them. She tried hard to keep her eyes dry. Wanting to stay strong for Dezzi in these last moments home. They packed everything they needed, books, equipment, clothes.
By the end. Dezzi stood at the door.
“Yeah... I guess I'm ready” Dezzi was having a lot of thoughts cross their mind. But the most prominent was something they had just been told, Oslar will be alright. Everyone on the island will. They heaved a sigh, gripping their mask. Hand close to the door to walk out of their house for the Final time.
“Well then, I should thank you for everything Dr. You are an amazing person, you helped me when no-one else would... I’m so glad I ended up on this island, because I have no idea if I would have met someone like you on any other island.” Their breath hitched as their head slunk, tears forming in their big bright eyes. Chin quivering.
"My Sweet Dezzi..." Oslar began, only for Dezzi to turn and run over to her! Tears in their eyes as they slammed into their Mother, wrapping their arms around her in a tight embrace. She couldn't help but smile. Tears welling up at the edges of her crows feets as she bent down and continued to embrace the mink in the tight hug "I'm glad You ended up here too...!" Her words were muffled. Nuzzling her head into the crook of her child.

The two stayed like that, squeezing one another tightly as the hot streams of tears flowed down each of their faces. "I love you, Dezzi. I don't think I could've ever asked for someone better in my life..."
"I love you too...Ma." They dug their head into her shoulder. Nuzzling their nose against her. "You'll be alright. It may take a while...But you will be..."
Finally the two broke their embrace. She pulled back, and ruffled the Minks hidden hair. Her hands then shifted to the sides of their arms "And don't ever be scared to show your face alright?"
"Wear your mask if you need to. But." She stifled a catch in her throat from a sob. "I think there'll be a day where you won't need to wear it." She'd always talked about that with them. But she couldn't help but remind Dezzi one last time as she stood up to her feet.
Dezzi shook their head vigorously, a wide huge smile on their face as tears continued flowing "Right!" Sniffing, the doctor wiped their nose.
"Best not keep them waiting!" Osalr said rubbing their shoulders, patting them restlessly before stopping at their arms in a motherly way.
"Yeah..." They breathed sharply, and took a deep breath. "I think-I think I'm ready..."
" I guess it’s time to go." Closing their eyes. They steadied their breath. "Whew...Hah..." Dezzi would give Dr. Oslar one last, huge hug, and then walked over to the entrance and opened the door. Oslar wanted to lead them out, walk them back to the ship. But it was every mothers dream to watch their child leave on their own.
"Don't forget to keep your mask Clean!" She piped up. "And don't forget wash your clothes! And your fur! Remember to keep it groomed!"
"Right." Dezzi shut their eyes tight, head handing as tears flowed. Only for their back to stiffen and stand straight, Opening the door to step out. " I’ll be back one day! And I’ll be known as the greatest doctor alive when I get back!” They proudly declared. Ears perked up with a soft smile.
"Oh I know you will be..." Dr. Oslar spoke, hands behind her back.
Pulling their mask over their face, they then pulled their hood over up covering their ears and face. They gave another look back to their Mother, and walking out into the cold. Door closing behind them...
"Hah..." Oslars legs gave out below her. Falling into the chair. It made a smile form across her lips at their declaration. She continued to sit there. Thinking as the Tea beside her began to cool down. "Keheheheh...So...The Will of D lives on more than I thought..." She spoke under her breath. This had been the second time within the past month that she'd heard of activity regarding a D..
And helping her child, and protégé no less. "I'll be waiting. Dezzi"
