Chapter 166: A Sign of Defiance

Chapter 166: A Sign of Defiance

“Ancient…Weapon?” Leroy spoke in confusion “Oh come on, Really? Though In all fairness…Not many know about them…They’re said to have been used to threaten the Destruction of the Entire World. They Carry the ability to supposedly be able to wipe out entire Islands in a single blast. Reducing them To Ash!”

“If I had something Like that! I’d have no Problem Becoming King of The Pirates! And then I’d have no problem Becoming the Richest man in the World!!” He declared proudly, his lips curling into a wide devious smile, arms outstretched. But the Declaration caused nothing but anger to come over Leroy's face. “You? King? The Only Person that's Going to Become King of The Pirates-”

In an Instant, Leroy broke through the air! Flying straight towards Hornigold Rackham with Fury in his veins! Arm cocked back as he yelled from the depths of his heart “IS ME!”

As Leroy Fist flung through the air, Hornigold wiped his own through the Air! Producing a Shield of Gold! Leroy's Fist impacted with such force that the metal shook violently and dented harshly! But as it did, a sudden strike of pain flew through his body! ‘What the…’ were the only thoughts that sparked through his mind as he looked down, his vision beginning to blur as looked down to see that a hand extended from the golden shield! Hornigold had morphed his normal arm into the shield and passed through it, and transformed his golden hand into huge talons! Piercing through Leroy's abdomen! The Shield formed into the arm as he was lifted into the air.

The Familiar taste of Iron and Copper filled his cheeks as blood spilled from his mouth

“You’re so Naive…Enslave? Please…These fools wouldn’t know what to do with a weapon like that if it smacked them in the face. I’ve helped them. Really Given them a purpose. They wear their gold like primitive beings instead of using it to garner themselves a fortune…”

He Continued his Monologue. “Pirate King…Pathetic. As if Someone like you could ever achieve that…”

As Hornigold looked into Leroy's Eyes, he expected to see the eyes of a man's life fading from the harsh grip that he held around the golden talons that were stabbed through him. But instead, all he saw was a smile. One that caused him to grimace. It was bloody, teeth stained crimson as the Smile exuded Cockiness and determination. His hand seemed to move on its own, moving into a shape that it knew all too well. The universal sign of defiance, even in the face of death-

The Middle finger.

“Fuck…You…” Leroy spoke true from his heart even as blood dripped onto the sand. Harshly, Hornigold pulled the talons from the Captain's Abdomen, Blood spattering in lines against the Sands causing the Red Sash Pirate to harshly fall to the grains beneath him. Hornigold had a look of sheer disgust on his face, yet seemed to be unsettled as sweat dripped down his temple “Tch-...Seems like you’ve still got some fight left in you…”

The Long taloned hand morphed back to normal. Blood continues to drip from it. Digging into the inside of his coat he pulled out a stiletto knife and turned to the woman that had stood and watched the whole encounter unfold “Finish him off for me, will you? I can’t be bothered…” He said as he tossed the blade into the sand. His voice was irritated from the encounter. “Just don’t take too long. Meet me at the Mausoleum when it’s finished…” The Ex-Marshal suddenly began to dissolve into golden dust and flung himself against the wind. Flying through the air at high speeds, back into the Direction of Aluba

The woman extended a delicate hand to grip the Stiletto in her palm

Leroy lay there. Blood pooled beneath him. Staining one of his favorite shirts. ‘Damn…Kirk just cleaned this thing too…’ he thought to himself as he heard the light footsteps of the woman approaching him. His eyes were blurry, though he was able to focus on the calf high-heeled boots that were approaching him when he suddenly felt a hand on his side…’What? Is there someone else here? She’s all the way over there.’ He then felt another. And another, and he was suddenly flipped onto his back to see-

No one. He used as much strength as he could to look up, Hands littered his body. They looked like they were coming from the ground themselves. But his attention then turned to the face that stood above him. Her face was tanned. She had soft cheeks. Her eyes dazzling in a vibrant sapphire purple. The hair that hung from her face in a neck-length style; was like a crow's feather. Almost iridescent and purple in color.

“Are you an Angel…” He joked, a smug smile coming across his face. But the woman's face stayed expressionless. She spoke with a middle-pitched voice. Giving her a mature tone “I hear your name is Falcon D. Leroy…”

“Ye.” He said in a state of delirium “Tell me, you who carry the Initial ‘D.’, Why do you fight…?” The Question confused Leroy. What’d his initial have to do with this? But he answered honestly “Cuz I can.”

“Hmm.” She let out an almost unamused noise. But clearly, there was something deeper that the answer gave her. Leroy could feel that there was something behind those darkened, stern eyes of hers…

The Woman then pulled something that Leroy couldn’t see, and a moment later, he seemed to be elevated and sat up, his arms being moved out to his side. “Woaahh, at least take me to…dinner!” He said, as his consciousness began to fade. The last thing he felt was something wrapping around him…

As Leroy fell into Unconsciousness. The woman continued her efforts. She had begun to bandage him for an unknown reason. Allowing the Captain to not bleed out in the middle of the desert.

It took only a few short minutes, but after, the Man's abdomen was wrapped. Light splotches of Red slowly appear. But she didn’t waste any time before leaving Leroy in the middle of the desert and walking back to Aluba…
