Cycle 26 (5)

A clock chimed, and Admin 6 threw the video of the Director being eaten by a raptor up on the wall.

They’d agreed keeping it up on loop was a bad idea, but once an hour was fine. And it was still absolutely the most beautiful thing any of them had ever seen.

Dear Diary,

It’s been a few days, I think tomorrow we’ll be pushing the button.

Again, we aren’t first, but we’re not far behind. So at least two of us will get a push. If we hurry, we might all three get to push the button!

The guys are two floors behind us. That’s not a lot, but we know there are three groups only one floor behind us (one of those groups is Aya and the Sams). So Avi and Y for sure won’t be getting a push.

I wonder if there’s any kind of personal rewards for getting a lot of button pushes. I mean, originally the reward was going to be “you don’t get kicked out”, but the Director skipped the cycle when the kicking out was gonna happen. So now… I don’t think there’s any benefit.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Maybe the people with the most pushes in a group will get to choose which city they want to rule over first? Or, they’ll be able to decide what they want to do first. The Director said there was a choice of different jobs. And we don’t want to accept the ruler jobs, anyways.

Oh! Octavius wrote me and said they want to set up a thing next cycle where everyone goes down the first ten floors together. Like, all sixty players meeting in the stairwells after every floor. Just to be silly.

I am all in favor of silly things, so I immediately agreed and told Kimi and Fire. If enough of us agree, we can stop anyone who doesn’t agree from going down ahead of us. It might be hard if we were gonna try to stay together for the whole dungeon, but just the first ten floors is totally doable.

And if someone manages to sneak by, it’s not the end of the world. Or, end of the dungeon, I guess.

Anyways, yeah, it’s been a fun cycle, but there’s not much to report. I’m mostly glad we got to be silly for a while. There isn’t enough silliness here.

Oh, no one kidnapped any pets. Shocking, yes, but we were focused on other things. And I don’t know how Lex and Tim would have reacted to seeing us “attacking” each other. Sure, it was a fun, happy attacking, but I’m not sure if they’d be able to tell the difference.

Somehow, I doubt velociraptors understand nuance.

The dire wolves might have, but it’s still best to not find out. We don’t want to break their trust in us over a prank.

Although this wasn’t really pranking. It was more… aggressively competitive. It’s a fun competition… where I hog-tied my husband this morning. Yep. Just normal competition things.

In my defense, he was still asleep when I did it.

I’m not sure why that would make it better, actually.

Aaaaanyways, we need to get started kinda early tomorrow, sooo…

Goodnight, Dungeon!
