Dear Diary,
Ok, this cycle is the best cycle I’ve had in a while. We’re a good race, I’m with my husband, we’re with our friends, and nothing is going wrong.
I kinda feel like I might jinx it by saying that, but it’s the truth! Anyone can look at our party and see that we’re a lot better than we were last time it was us five.
OH!! I forgot to write about Avi’s hair yesterday!!!
So, as I may have mentioned, he’s been banned from using silver magic. Meaning he can’t have grey hair any more. Thankfully he doesn’t like ice magic, which is white, so I knew he wouldn’t get white hair. Unless he did it just to tease me (which is something he’d do).
He decided to go with purple psychic magic. Lily has purple magic, but she has dark purple hair. Avi went with more of a lilac color. So, it’s light, but distinctly not grey.
Avi thinks it’s unreasonable how much I love his hair now. But I never hid that I loved him in spite of his grey hair. And now he has hair with color in it! Yay!
If he gets silver magic back, I won’t be dramatic about him changing to grey again. Because I was used to it, and the magic types are very different. I wouldn’t be mad about him returning to something familiar.
But right now I’m just so happy he has lilac hair.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Ok, if he hated it, I wouldn’t be acting like this. But if he hated it, he could change it. I feel like it’s ok to love something he chose.
Anyways, now that we’re in a group who agrees feeding everything in the dungeon is good, we’re going pretty fast. We’re much lower level than what we were last cycle at this floor, but we’re here a day earlier. I know it’ll slow us down for a few floors where we can’t get through by giving out pizzas, but that’s ok.
I’ve been experimenting a little with ingredients some more, but honestly… it’s not all that super exciting. Like, there’s only so many pickles you can add to a burger before they become overwhelming. I’m sure if I were still an NPC, I’d be figuring out some insane and delicious buff combos with which we could punch through the dungeon in a single day.
But I’m not. I’m too busy traveling to figure out how to make a pound of pickles taste good in a dish. Plus, I kinda… wasn’t excited when the change first happened? It’s hard to be excited about something that’s been around several cycles. The novelty wore off before I even got to play with it, really.
It kinda feels like there’s an alternate timeline somewhere where I was excited about it, and wasn’t super preoccupied that cycle, and do know how to make an insane buff dish, and we’ve already won the whole dungeon now. But that might have its own problems, and I don’t know how I’d handle them.
Like, everything bad that’s happened here so far, we’ve gotten through ok. I think there might be another timeline where something happens that we couldn’t get over.
If there are multiple timelines out there, I’m pretty sure this isn’t the best one. But it probably isn’t the worst, either. So, I’m ok staying here, as we are.
Any timeline where Avi ends up with lilac hair is pretty good, if you ask me.
Yes, he is reading over my shoulder right now.
Goodnight, Dungeon!
