Cycle 22 (7)

Dear Diary,

We didn't make it to Floor 60. We made it to 57, and after teleporting across I just don't have the power to go on. So we’re currently between Floors 57 and 58.

I think we’ll make it. There are two people ahead of us, and two people at the campsite with us, so even if one pair sneaks by we’ll get a button push.

I didn't get to talk to Nat all that much, since we were trying to go fast. But she’s kinda worried about the food magic. She says she can make a hamburger that will make someone absolutely invincible. Which, it isn't good for a kobold to be completely invincible. Their whole job is to be, well, vincible. If they were totally unbeatable, that might make the Director decide to take all the food away from them.

And sure, Nat can promise to never give people food that will make them OP, but all her food now has magical properties.

The only way to not get magic buffs from food is to not eat.

So yeah, she’s worried the Director will take away all food soon. Which, I can say from experience, totally sucks.

So yeah, we’ll just have to hope that the Director doesn't take any food away.

In other news, Mika has decided that she won't ever give up silver magic. She’s having way too much fun with it.

Which will make her the first of us who’s going to change our color from what we were given.

It feels like… I don't know. It feels like the end of an era. Like we were still, in our hearts, the six catgirls from Floor 93. But now Mika isn't. She’s cut the last string that attached us to that life.

And… I don't mind as much as I thought I would. Things change, time moves on, and it’s ok.

As long as I still have Avi and my friends, it’s all ok.

Anyways. It’s late and we should start early tomorrow.

Goodnight, Dungeon!

The Director finally got to the last player with access to silver magic.

Y (Player 610)

Reason for access: Definitely not blackmail.

She glared at the screen. Most of Admin 6’s reasons had been annoyingly cryptic. But this was too much.

She pulled him into her office. He appeared, looking as bored as usual.

“Hello. I have been reviewing the reasons for which players are allowed silver magic,” she told him. “Would you mind explaining what ‘definitely not blackmail’ means?”

He shrugged.

She sighed, summoning a pen and paper for him. “Write your reply.”

He took the seat across from her, smiling faintly.

Are the three words unclear in some way?

The Director glared at him. “It explains what the reason is not. I would like to know what the reason is.”

Admin 6 nodded slowly, writing again.

He requested silver magic. Simply asked for it. I have no reason to deny a polite request, so I gave it to him.

“You gave him silver magic based on a polite request?” she asked flatly.

He nodded, smiling.

“In that case, I shall remove the silver magic access until a legitimate reason for him to get it appears,” she decided.

He shrugged.

“You don't care?”

He shrugged again, shaking his head.

The Director narrowed her eyes, watching him. He stared blandly back. Annoyed, she sent him away and revoked Y’s access to silver magic.
