Cycle 25 (1)

Dear Diary,

New cycle! We’re human! There’s no party. No fighting, either, which is nice.

This time there’s two tests we have to take. One is a math test, and the other is a personality test. The Director gave us a flat 72 hours to finish them this time, instead of trying to “encourage” us to do it quickly.

It’s nice of her to give us three days. Like, she could have just given us eight hours to do them. But nope, we have time to relax! Woo!

Fire and Steel came over for lunch. Steel looks like a normal human, but Fire has that same not-quite-right look that Kimi and Y have. She looks like a fairy forced into being human.

Oh, the first question on the personality test is “what races are your favorite to be”, with two slots for answers. I put catgirl and fairy. And then Avi said he put neko and elf, so I went back and had to change catgirl to neko. But it means we chose different things for our second answer. I hope no one decides to make either of us our second choice.

Well, I guess Avi being an elf wouldn’t be too bad if I were a neko. Because the heights are about the same, elf is only a tiny bit taller. But fairies are like a foot and a half shorter, which would be kinda weird.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

I don’t think that’ll happen, though. I’m pretty sure everyone’s gonna choose neko as one of their favorites, so we’ll all be neko!

Fire said she wrote fairy twice. I hadn’t thought of doing that. Steel said he chose human first, and then fairy because he knew Fire would say fairy.

It sounded really weird to hear someone say their favorite race is human. Humans are kinda… basic. Not exciting. But then, Steel is in a relationship with Fire, and she’s exciting enough for the both of them. So I guess they’re well-balanced.

Anyways, the math test we were given is mostly just basic math. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. It starts super simple, but the last question is like… eight digits long. I’ve done the first ten, but I’m gonna leave the rest of them for tomorrow. I did the fun test first.

And yeah, the personality test was fun. It had questions like “what’s your dream job” (chef, duh) and “what’s your favorite sport” (marble racing, obviously). I don’t know what the Director is going to do with the information that I prefer potatoes to rice, but she has it now!

I think the most random question was “what types of books do you read”. I mean, there kinda aren’t books here? Other than books we write ourselves. After so long without any books, I kinda don’t know what I like to read.

I wrote that I like to read my diary, even though I don’t really read it much. I mostly just write in it.

Maybe I should read it more. See what I wrote back in Cycle 1.

Might be fun. I’ll do that!

Goodnight, Dungeon!
