Cycle 26 (2)

Admin 6 took a deep breath, and teleported himself from the Void to the office. He specifically put himself in the back of the room, as far outside of everyone’s line of sight as he could manage.

Then he walked to his chair and sat down. His new tail slid, quite comfortably, between the back and armrest, its tip barely brushing the ground.

He summoned an iced coffee, focusing all his attention on keeping his pointed ears upright. For some reason they kept trying to fold back against his skull.

Admin 5 glanced his way, then did a double-take and nearly fell out of her chair. 6 felt his face heat up and hid it behind the coffee.

“Flippin’ hell,” Admin 4 said softly, almost laughing as he looked 6 over.

“Yes?” Admin 6 asked, glaring at his computer screen. He gave up on controlling his ears, and they flattened.

“Neko’s a good look on you,” Admin 1 said, a bit uncertainly.

“Thanks.”

4 scooted closer, staring intently. “Wait, you don’t- How does-” He got up, summoned a screen, hit a few buttons, and was covered in a golden glow. When it faded, he, too, had cat ears and a tail. He flexed his fingers, extending and retracting his claws. “Oh, that’s wild.” He paused, swiveling his ears around.

“You never tried making yourself any other race?” 6 guessed, relaxing as 4 had his mind blown.

“Nah, thought the differences were just aesthetic,” 4 said, a huge smile on his face. “Hold up, that walkway, with the raptors, I understand now. Increased balance and hyper-directional hearing… That place must be fun.”

Admin 6 slowly grinned. “Wanna go visit?”

“Hell yeah!”

Dear Diary,

We’ve compromised with Fire, and are keeping pace with the guys. We could easily pull ahead, but nah. That would require, like, effort.

And we’re having fun on our chill girl’s trip.

I tried counting how many wins we should have, and gave up. I haven’t been keeping track of it, and even Kimi says she doesn’t know exactly how many wins our group has. So if we win, it’ll be a surprise. I hope we win, but it’s… not something that feels as urgent as it did ten cycles ago. It feels like it’s something I should worry about, but I just…

Just getting out of here would be enough. I don’t care about winning or losing as long as I’m out.

Anyways, tomorrow we plan on messing with the guys, so I need my beauty sleep!

Goodnight, Dungeon!

The Director frowned, seeing a notification pop up that six monsters had been transported out of her dungeon. A notification appeared next to it, saying Admin 6 had gone to his dungeon.

She checked, and discovered all her Admins had gone to a specific spot in Admin 6’s dungeon. After considering for a moment, she decided to teleport herself there, too. If there was something so exciting happening they all needed to go, she wanted to see what it was.

She would not “miss” another party.

After standing and summoning a screen, she teleported herself to a spot near them.

Admin 1 saw her first, and his eyes widened. It took her half a second to realize he wasn’t human.

“Might I ask-” She cut off as pain exploded in her shoulder. The Director stumbled, looking over to find a dracoraptor chewing on her severed arm.

It tilted its head, dropped her arm, screeched, and the last thing she saw before respawning in her office was a mouth full of serrated teeth.
