Cycle 23 (4)

Dear Diary,

Wellp.

It worked.

I found out what the Director does with the food I give her.

She gives it to the Admins.

Yep.

Yeah…

I don’t know how much trouble I’m gonna get in for… drugging all six Admins. Something is gonna happen. But they haven’t decided what yet.

I mean, now we know that baking the drugs doesn’t reduce their potency? Yay?

Well, first our Admin messaged me and asked what was in the cake. I told him it was Admin 5’s rocks. He asked if I knew what was going to happen to the cake, and I honestly answered no. Then Admin 1 messaged me saying “you haven’t just stirred the hornet’s nest, you’ve pulled it down, stomped on it, and kicked it through our window”. I don’t really know what that means, but I assume it’s not good.

No one else has messaged me. Xero says Admin 1 is a pretty formal guy, so that gives me no helpful information.

I messaged Kimi about it, and she mostly just wanted to know exactly what happened. Then I messaged Avi, and he’s worried. He thinks I might be turned into a goldfish or whatever the punishment for bad people is here.

I… don’t want to be a goldfish.

So yeah, I’ll have to wait and see what happens.

I hope they decide soon. I hate waiting.

Goodnight, Dungeon.

Admin 5 sat nervously in front of the Director.

Admin 3 pointed. “None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for her.”

Admin 4 stepped up. “No, none of this would have happened if you hadn’t overreacted!”

“Overreacted to being drugged?” 3 demanded.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

“Quiet,” the Director ordered calmly. “Why is no one blaming the player who made the cake?”

“Because it was obviously just a prank,” Admin 1 said.

“No,” 3 said, “because it couldn’t have happened without 5’s drugs.”

“Were you aware that the cake was intended for me?” the Director asked, stopping the budding argument.

“Yes, ma’am,” 5 said.

“And no one is concerned about a player wanting to drug me?”

There was silence for a few seconds.

“No,” Admin 1 finally said.

“What would it have done, killed you?” 3 scoffed.

“You work alone,” 4 said, shrugging slightly. “No one would’ve noticed if you’d gone crazy for a few hours.”

“I’m sorry, but I assumed she knew all the food goes to us,” 5 said. “I don’t think she intended anything bad to happen at all, and not to you specifically.”

The Director sat back. “Where are Admins 6 and 2? I understand Admin 6 not wanting to take responsibility for his player, but Admin 2…”

Again, there were a few moments of silence. Admin 5 felt her cheeks burn.

“There was a… misunderstanding,” 5 finally said. “With 2.”

“They’re off getting drunk,” 4 said. “Their opinions would be biased.”

“Still, I’d like to know their opinions,” the Director said.

“6 laughed his ass off, and 2 now regrets all his life choices,” 3 said. “6 said it’s his fault for telling the player about the drugs in the first place.”

The Director sat forwards. “So 6 says it’s his fault, 3 says it’s 5’s fault, 1 and 4 say no one needs to be blamed, and 2… is too busy regretting life to blame anyone? 5, what do you say?”

“I take responsibility,” she said, gripping the armrests. “The player used my drugs as a prank against us. If it’s deemed a serious matter, the blame should fall on me.”

Admin 3 crossed his arms.

“I almost feel like I ought to report this to the Watchers,” the Director said. “I doubt anything like this has happened before. I’m sure they would have opinions.”

“That’s not necessary,” 4 said quickly.

3 uncrossed his arms. “Just reprimand 5 and call it a day.”

“As I said, it’s not that serious,” 1 added. “We wouldn’t have even brought the matter to you if it hadn’t been for 3 acting like an infant.”

“Very well,” the Director decided. “5, I shall note this in your record. To make sure it doesn’t happen again, I will forbid Admins from accepting food from play-”

“No!” 5 yelled, then flinched back. “That’s extreme, come on.”

The Director gave her a flat stare. “I will forbid Admins from accepting food from Nikki.”

“That’s effectively the same thing,” 1 said. “She’s the only one who’s ever given us anything.”

The Director sighed. “I shall remove all drug effects from Admin 5’s floors.”

“The players won’t like that,” 4 said. “They’ve grown used to them.”

“Then what should I do?” the Director asked, annoyed.

“Order the player to not do it again,” 3 said. “And make a note in 5’s record.”

“That’s all?”

“Well… Yeah. Unless it happens again.”

The Director looked the group over. “Did anyone consider Nikki may have been giving you food to earn your trust so she could do something like this?”

The Admins looked at each other.

“No.”

“Nope.”

“Not at all.”

5 shook her head. “She doesn’t think like that.”

“Fine,” the Director said. “I will simply send her a warning. And I warn you to not blindly accept gifts.”

“We won’t,” 3 said firmly. “From now on, we will analyze everything before eating it.”

“Good.”

Without another word, the Director sent them away.
