Dear Diary,
We’re officially in the last stretch! The last group of cycles until the end! We’re almost there!
This cycle we’re elves. The Director said we had to all be in parties of three. Since there are ten people per group, we can make parties with anyone. Kimi suggested we make a party with Fire, have Avi, Y, and Steel join up, then we race.
So that’s what we’re doing! Currently, the guys are ahead by two floors. We’re confident we can catch up, though. I haven’t been using teleport to my full ability.
Fire says it’s very not logical, but Kimi and I plan on staying behind the guys until Floor 45, then zooming past them. Just to rub it in their faces that we could have beaten them super easy.
I agree it’s not perfectly logical. But logic is boring.
Anyways, a couple things are different this cycle. Well, one thing is different. Some people are different races. NPCs, not players. The people who used to be made of candy cane are now orcs. And the zombies on Floor 5 are now fully alive elves. I think they were human zombies before, but I never really noticed. I mean, the rotting “undead” thing was kinda the most important thing. If they’d been zombie nekos I might have noticed. Or zombie… mermaids, I don’t know.
But yeah, the castle is still the same, they’re just elves now. And the floor the ex-candy cane people lived on is still candy themed.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
We kinda wonder if the people are being changed into what they’ll be in the new world. Since we were asked what we wanted to be last cycle. Which would mean that at some point, we’ll be changed permanently. While we’re still here. That would be good.
It would especially be good if we were changed next cycle. That way, Y wouldn’t have to ever be a half-dragon again. That… would be great.
I kinda wonder how the scores are being tallied up. Like, the button has to be pushed eight times. That means three parties will push the button. But if those parties are made of people from different groups, it doesn’t seem fair that one person won’t get a push. They’ll lose a push for their group, even tho they got to the button.
I mean, if Fire and Kimi and I are the third party to arrive. If Fire doesn’t get a push, her group misses out. But if I don’t get a push, our group misses out. It just misses out a little less, since Kimi gets a push.
I hope the Director is doing math to make things fair. I kinda doubt she is, though. She doesn’t seem like a very fair person.
Would it be missing out a little less, or a little more? I think it’s less. I don’t know, I’m bad at numbers.
Oh yeah, the cycle ended before Kimi and Y got any math questions wrong. So they still don’t know which of them is truly the best at math.
I mean, they’re better than anyone else in the dungeon that we know of. No other players got a perfect score. But that’s not good enough for them.
Someday I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Or else they’ll die arguing about it.
I can see them, a hundred years from now, old and decrepit on their deathbeds, still going “I’m better than you at math…” and their great-grandchildren will solemnly record that as their last words…
Ok, I’m getting silly, I should go to sleep.
Goodnight, Dungeon!
