Chapter Extra: Aldeva City’s Crossroad 3

Chapter Extra: Aldeva City’s Crossroad 3

I guess it’s pretty far away from the city but not for us. I summon a warp gap below me and carry the two little girls in my arms. The warp gap other end opened up near the city gate where I still carry the two as I look at the destructive scene unfold.

Cattleya grabs my arm comfortably while pressing her whole body against mine. Her voluminous breasts are squishing against me but it is no issue for me. As for the fox girl Higanbana, her face shows a displeased and disgusted face while exuding a grim and awful aura.

“This is uncomfortable. I feel like puking.”

“You hate me that much?”

“Men in general.”

“That’s just sad.”

“I hate all men on an instinctual level.”

I put both girls down.

I look at the place where Alstroemeria was before.  A strong gust wind still came towards us so I held the two girls again.

WHOOSH

The wind violently howls but since we are already miles away, it didn’t have any powerful impacts contrary to what I think. It only brushes to the city wall like a usual wind downfall which is normal for a hot continent with valleys and tall rocky mountain and plateaus. However, we only received a really weakened impact from her attack miles away but, imagine if we were too close to it or worse, the one receiving it.

“It’s okay. Alstroe will never hurt people. She will never ever again purposely hurt anyone she loves. Well, unless if you are brave enough to challenge her…like Asagao’s older brother.”

I see, interesting.

I’ll ask questions for future reference then.

“What…just happened? She didn’t use…any magic…”

“That’s not magic at all. She uses Ki, an energy that actively circulates inside people’s body. It is like a form of enhancement but at the same time, entirely different. I haven’t learned much from her so that’s all I can say.”

“Hmm…that’s plenty.”

Of course, it is not enough but I didn’t pursue further because Higanbana looks troubled. After the wind passes, gentle gust began to blow again in the land of sand and rocks. The blue sky has revealed itself and the clouds parted endlessly from Alstroemeria’s attack

If anything else, I feel like up to the other side of the world, such feat was felt.

However, some of her initial movements didn’t yield any violent reactions. Did her skill ignore some law of physics? I can’t be certain as I only specialized in human biology. Such topic is covered by Priscilla.

As I was contemplating, Alstroemeria returned soundlessly and appears before me.

“Hello! Did you see that?”

“Oryaa? What are you, a little kid?”

“I-It’s kind of a habit for me whenever I attack!”

“We don’t have time to dawdle around, let’s move.”

“Yes.”

I flatly ignored her actions earlier. I can’t let something like that excites me so I can still sleep in peace after this. I still have my priorities intact after all this.

With that, one down, three more to go.

.

.

.

“Susanoo…please, leave this to me!”

“Cattleya…are you sure?”

“It’s my turn! I want to…show off to somehow. I feel like I want to be useful because if I didn’t say anything…they are going to wipe out every devil without even my help!”

“Well,…you’re not wrong…”

Cattleya openly told me as we found the next target. Thinking about it, there is four giant devils spotted miles away from the town. Coincidentally, there are four of us out here so it would only make sense to fight them one on one for training purposes.

I just have to ignore the feeling that everything seems staged.

“I see no problem with it. We are far enough from the city and still, try to hold back a little as to not cause any disturbance.”

“Yes!”

I reluctantly agreed because I didn’t want her to fight but I am aware of what degree of destruction her magic could cause. I did agree to it as Alstroemeria is really excited to jump at the devil from afar in which I wouldn’t let her…subtly.

“Hey, what does a little girl like you can do? Magic? Magic it is?”

“I-I’m not a little girl! N-No…I might be small but…I am not young! I-I may be older than you...”

“Oh? Are you like Asagao? You look young but actually older? I understand so I’m sorry.”

Cattleya blooms a happy smile as Alstroemeria conveys her understanding. That also reminds me, Cattleya is eighteen years old and yet, I kept seeing her as a child, well, no matter as that won’t change.  She is still a child for me and I know that she have a bright future ahead.

Adults in the working society need to work harder for people like this.

Wait…

I am an adult but lazy and unmotivated while Cattleya is the one working as a demon lord.

That’s kind of confusing.

“I’m off! Please do watch me!”

Cattleya runs off as she summoned her crimson staff. She used that staff to channel her magic more accurately and to maximize the efficiency of her magic spells in regards to magic energy consumption. Since this is not the demon continent with overflowing magical energy, Cattleya needs to fully bring out the staff’s potential to minimize the magic drain.

Oh….her breasts bounce amazingly. It’s really amusing to see such sight, not that I actually have a thing for it. One of the reasons Priscilla had me guard Cattleya is that her petite small figure with contrasting enormous breasts instill lust. That’s a fact as men all over the place would glance at her with lecherous eyes.

Given also that Cattleya is a demon with refined beauty, one couldn’t resist turning their eyes to her.

“Guehehehe, what a sight to feast on…”

You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.

..is muttered by the little fox girl beside me as she shamelessly exposes her true nature as a skirt chaser. She boldly stares at Cattleya’s running figure with eyes stripping her off of her clothes. Her flat and deadpan eyes have a tinge of lecher to it.

Once again, I am confused about what to do in this situation. I know that she hates men and could only turn to the same sex but…

“Hey, she didn’t answer my question. Can Susanoo answer it?”

“Alstoe…meria?”

“She is strong, right?”

“On this kind of occasion, she may have an opportunity to show her power. However, in a normal fight where an opponent is agile, she is hopeless.”

“So, what’s her power?”

“You’ll see…”

I’m kind of tired explaining so I told her menacingly to give an ambient effect on the surrounding.  She looks not amused though so but it stopped her from asking. She directs her eyes toward the open field where the giant devil is.

“I’ll jump right away if she can’t handle it.”

“That’s not necessary. She is strong…she is the demon lord after all.”

“…Eh?!”

I also directed my gaze to the open field perfect for Cattleya’s magic.

Cattleya stops running as she got into a considerable distance to cast her magic, a distance where she can directly hit the giant devil and at the same time, a distance where she wouldn’t get swept up by her own magic.

She planted her staff into the ground and started chanting with her arms stretch outwards. Her chants are annoyingly long but it is just a small price to pay for the firepower it packs. That’s why Cattleya can be called powerful enough to blast a whole city with one spell alone but can’t win in a close range combat.

From Cattleya’s body, explosive amount of magical power surges violently. Her body started showing a glint of crimson blood aura that fills the air. Her magical power equates to Priscilla and mine altogether or even so, much deeper.

However, given her disposition, Cattleya would never use such power to people. She has the power to be a demon lord but she doesn’t have one thing what demon lords should have based on this world’s history…

It’s tyranny.

She is too soft even with her façade covering her emotions. She can never ever raise her hands against her own council and she cannot do the cruelest decision a ruler could give out. She may be politically wise but from the start, she was never cut out to be a demon lord.

A textbook once said that the previous Demon Lord named Baal was once a great ruler as the demon race prospers equal to humans in which the latter didn’t accept. Demon Lord Baal is a leader who strikes fear to the heart of his people to create order. Despite the fear he spreads, Demon Lord Baal knows well what his citizens needed the most.

Not until his daughter named Camellia was killed by the humans.

Demon Lord Baal was filled with rage and utterly despise towards humans. From the start, Demon Lord Baal just loves his people and mostly, his daughter. With his hate growing, he declared a war against human and vowed to kill them with everything he has even if he has to expand their resources.

It is a sad story that ended with Baal getting sealed in a place called Cave of Vortex by the current human king, Ashfon Astlan Lionheart.

Cattleya is a far relative of Baal and is fairly young. She took the title of the demon lord and council seems to readily accept her. However, in my opinion, those councils are fixated on turning Cattleya into their puppet. In hindsight, it’s better that Cattleya ended up here rather than slowly killing herself in that place.

I’m pretty sure this would what Diyu wanted too.

“Uoooh?! This magical power! It’s amazing! It’s a shame that you can’t feel it Alstroe.”

“Buh! You and your magic senses!”

“You’re really cute.”

“That won’t work on me anymore! But I would like to play that game with you if we ever have time again!~”

The two started talking among themselves while watching Cattleya with attentive eyes. Even with their mouths occupied with each other, they never took their eyes off Cattleya probably because they are watching out for her.

Unfortunately, Cattleya’s powers unfolded before their very eyes with tremendous and earth shattering power.

“[Hell Rising – Eruption to your Heart!]”

The ground shakes and cracks crawl towards the giant devil. The devil loses its balance and one of its feet fell on the crack in which stagnated its collapse. Upon stopping at its planted feet, steam blows out everywhere and the temperature around it skyrockets.

In that very moment…

Magma gushes upward. The giant devil whose feet are buried deeply in the ground panics from the melting hot magma that showers its gigantic body. Its outer skin started scalding and it screams in pain letting out horrendous distress shout.

Despite its suffering, magma continues to flow out from the ground and fills the whole place. The hot continent of the dragon continent becomes hotter. The pillar of magma keeps piling above the devil until it is fully covered with it.

However, even covered with magma, the devil’s life didn’t cease, even more, it became more violent and starts flailing around. It seems that even this giant devil has an enormous capability to regenerate.

Cattleya already knew that this enemy won’t die with a single spell so after casting the first magic, she began chanting for the next.

“[Frozen World – Dropping your Warmth!]”

From the figure of the rampaging devil covered with magma, a snowflake lands on the tip of my nose. The bright sunny sky slowly becomes dark as cold clouds started looming over. The hot and humid air becomes gentle and chilly.

The three of us standing in the empty field becomes bewildered. The phenomenon is beyond logic as the hot turned to cold in just a few moments. Snow began raining down like cotton and the temperature slowly drops.

That was the case for us outside of Cattleya’s spell range.

The giant devil from far away who is still struggling to get off the magma is still rampaging. Above the giant devil is…a thick cloud. An astounding amount of ice starts raining down while misty gust of the wind which in my guess is a blizzard starts swirling around the devil.

“That’s impossible! Such large scale spell used in succession would immediately take every drop of magical energy a person have! Cattleya will surely break!”

“It’s okay…she is…the demon lord after all…she is trained…for this…”

Ice creeps outward from the devil’s feet. Its appearance is greatly disfigured in which one can conclude even though it is being assaulted by a blizzard. The devil’s movement ceases and its flailing movements stops. Cold wind even blows toward us even though we are in a considerable distance.

Snow now falls and fills the place that it looks like winter. With just a spell, Cattleya altered the topography of this place temporarily. This unnaturalness of the weather can also be viewed as a disaster.

As the blizzard around the giant devil ceases, its deformed figure which is frozen like a crystal beholds us. Cracks start appearing everywhere and after some time, the figure collapses without any indication of regenerating again.

The giant devil…loses to a disaster and Cattleya wins with her magic.

With a smile, Cattleya turns around and run towards us again, of course, with her boobs violently shaking up and down while tightly hugging the crimson staff in her chest.

“Susanoo! I did it! Did you see that?”

“It was incredible. You were great. Good job…good girl.”

“Ehehehe.”

Cattleya who stops exactly in front of me smiles joyfully. She looks embarrassed at doing the gesture that she wanted to be praise so I took the initiative to do so. I gently rub the top of her head and in response, she closes her eyes in too much happiness and starts swaying her head together with my hand.

This is a smile to protect.

Higanbana who was watching from the side with a satisfied and content face speaks.

“I hate to admit it but, a girl will always make the most beautiful smile in front of the person they like the most.”

“Awawawaawa!!! No…! Miss Higanbana, don’t!”

“I will say it over and over again, I hate men in general, however, if an existence of a man himself makes a girl bloom in happiness, this world becomes a little more bearable for me.”

“But you don’t have to…! You know…”

Cattleya’s face imitates the color of her hair, red as crimson. Higanbana stops at her track as to not further embarrass her. I am happy for Cattleya’s feeling but, I just can’t simply be comfortable with it. After all, the concept of love is very illogical for me and I can’t grasp its meaning.

I am well aware that she is attached to me, I am well aware that it is love, and I am aware that she sometimes crawls into my bed at night and get a feel of my body. Despite all of this, I cannot bring myself to be intimate with anyone.

“Cattleya did good but, there are two more devils to kill.”

“S-Susanoo…I can’t move my legs.”

“I see…”

I pick up Cattleya and carry her in my arms. Cattleya naturally curls her body to match my arm span and scoot closer to my body. At this point of time, Cattleya is blissful even though her legs are trembling from magic exhaustion.

“Then…I will be killing the next devil.”

I announce. Alstroemeria’s eyes lit up in excitement and her body tenses. Her fist clenched and her stare becomes fierce and challenging. Higanbana could only sigh as she saw how excited Alstroemeria becomes.

With that, we move to the location where the next devil is.

.

.

.

Up unto this day, I never had a fragment of understanding of what Nineteenth said that night. I’ve already killed more than people that I’ve expected for my whole life. She is, after all, the reason I’ve become much deranged that ever.

She keeps telling me that I am no monster myself but had me kept doing acts only a monster is capable of. I never had any lingering guilt taking lives of others while keeping a saintly act to people I cared for.

I still don’t understand what’s part of me is distorted.

Thinking about it makes me sleepy. I am tired of finding reasons why Nineteenth told me that. She led to the path of blood and left me hanging in such road. Well, I did kill her upon knowing how she played me in her fingers. I never hated her and I never loathed her, I just want to satisfy my urge to kill her or justify my desire for failing to protect that girl.

However, if I ever learned something from Nineteenth, it’s that you should always hone your talent and know when to use it.

What is my talent?

Killing…

“Susanoo!”

A young and sweet voice called out to me. Cattleya’s screams of worry and filled with anxiousness reaches me. I shouldn’t even be making her worry like that.

I am tired…I am sleepy…I want to finish this as quickly as possible. These giant bastards are preventing me from doing so and Priscilla manages to drag me into this again.

In front of me is the giant devil that is as tall as a ten storey building. It is only a few steps away from me and upon seeing my small figure it started its slow assault.

It’s bothersome to do some extreme movements. It’s bothersome to move a muscle just to dodge. Right now, I am going to create an attack that could kill an enemy of this size without much effort. Everything that Nineteenth taught me is not for naught.

Maybe she doesn’t want me to be a monster after all…maybe she wants me to be…

“[Totsuka no Tsurugi – Orochi Flash Point]”

A skill for my namesake, a reenactment of Takehaya Susanoo-no-Mikoto slaying the Yamata no Orochi in the province of Idzumo in the River Hi.

My name doesn’t relate to my own characteristic or anything prominent. It was just arbitrarily chosen for me at the perfect time at the perfect moment.

And now, a weapon that imitates the Legend of the Heavenly Susanoo, the Storm God of Summer, a personal gift he parted to his sister, Amaterasu-Omikami or also known as Ohirume-no-Muchi-no-Kami, is Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, the Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven and also known as Kusanagi no Tsurugi.

My knowledge about the lore is limited and I don’t know if I can make any connections with it to me but, I am attached to my own name so I want to stick with its meaning.

A black and clean eastern sword known as Katana manifested in my hand. However, from its normal form, the ten span sword emits a power unknown to me. A pitch black mist that looks eerie enough to scare anyone.

Either way, I swing the sword slowly but elegantly in the air like it touched the surface of the water that made beautiful ripples.

I close my eyes and disperse that black katana in my hand.

I turn around and walk away from the giant devil casually. The devil didn’t know what just happen and stares at me blankly.

I saw Cattleya's face full of anxiety and Higanbana with a complex face, however, Alstroemeria shows a stiff face.

“Hey, that was incredible…!”

“Oh…you’ve seen it?”

“No…I’ve felt it…a little…no…more like the world itself notice what kind of magic you used. It only conveyed to me what you just did.”

“I still think it’s not a match for you.”

“That’s not true. I’d love to fight with you even more.”

Higanbana who was listening to us made a questioning gaze. She couldn’t figure out what happened which is normal. Cattleya didn’t mind what I just did but heave a sigh of relief.

I guess it’s time to end this.

“[Eight Headed Slayer.]”

From within the devil’s body, eight giant slashes emerge, a ravaging slash that comes out from a cut in time and space. The eight simultaneous attacks were so strong that I diced the devil horizontally and vertically. With no hope for any recovery, the devil lifelessly fell to the ground and disperses into ashes.

“I knew it…”

“You’re…this strong huh…More people I need to catch up with.”

“Amazing, Susanoo is really cool!”

They have their own remarks.

However, one that resounded in my ears the most came from the person I have killed long ago, Nineteenth.

Her imaginary voice repeatedly speaks to me…

She wants me to be a god.
