Chapter 155: Onwards, to the Lost Capital, Hujinn! 4

“Then, there are more cities other than this one? I mean, if this is just the head then the body would surely capable of extending the city towards there.”

“That’s not possible.”

“Why?”

“It’s just not. Also, our population isn’t that many. This city is already enough for us.”

“I see…”

I didn’t pursue anything at that point. I know what to ask and not to ask.

We just quietly followed old man Pr’thcor all the way as we walk towards the city. I still can’t believe that the density of the magic here is so thick that even people with a weak affinity to it could easily feel awe by it.

The whole place is the opposite of verdant but the temperature seems like it doesn’t fluctuate to hot or cold. The crystals which are the materialization of the magic here glow and keep the whole place well lit. The air circulation is also great as we don’t suffocate from the lack of oxygen.

If that’s the case, then there should a passage or a way where air could freely enter, which means there’s a means to get out of this underground.

Their living condition seems better than I thought.

No, it’s not that I am looking down at them!

I can already see the houses closer as we lessen the distance from the city. What entered my sight is a various form of houses made from clay, bricks and even molten lava with intricate designs. There are no concepts of pointed or sliding roofs. The houses are surprisingly modern despite this is the underground and they are humungous.

Must be because they have so much free time and spaces that building houses such as this are nothing to them considering that an average dragon can live up to thousands of years. I get the feeling that they must be construction experts and good house designers.

Wait…

Wait!

These houses aren’t just humungous. They are oddly huge that the doors are almost five times of my size that it felt overwhelming and it is three feet wide!

I can’t explain how it feels but there’s a foreboding feeling that the people in this place could easily crush us.

Casablanca clings to my arm as we walk. I am kind of used to this absurdities but this child here and Hibiscus must be not.

“Casablanca…?”

“Sorry…please put up with me…”

“Hmm…?”

“I don’t really feel comfortable other than being with Hibiscus but, I feel fine with you, Miss Asagao.”

“I see… I’m happy.”

“Thank you.”

“…”

“…”

“Hey…Casablanca…”

“Yes, Miss Asagao?”

“Could you do something about how you call me? It’s a bit stifling.”

“Eh? The…how do you want to be referred?”

“Just call me Asagao.”

“Ah…A-Asagao…”

“Yes! I wanted to…become closer with you and Hibiscus too after all.”

“Eh?”

“Is that…a bother?”

“No, absolutely not! A--…Asagao is not a bother for us! In fact, we want to know more about you too!”

“Thank you!~”

I feel like it becomes warmer between us as if a gap were shortened between me and Casablanca. Her hand gently squeezes mine as she cuddles closer to me.

How cute…

In contrasts to Hibiscus who is seemingly meek from the outside but fierce on the inside, Casablanca is the perfect mirror to that.

She always puts up an air that one may think she is not approachable because she seems prideful and high and mighty but in fact, inside, she is frail and unsure of everything. The source of her strength in keeping up the bravado is Hibiscus.

But for some odd reason, these two get along very well. I can already understand Casablanca but I don’t think Hibiscus is anything near readable.

I wish I could also talk to her but talking to each one of them is a rare chance since she is being carried by Ichirou and dozing off as her dizziness rides her head.

We continued walking while holding hands and before we know it, we’ve already entered the city and the atmosphere changes. The ground rumbles as footsteps become audible and before us, a crowd of dragon kins and even large dragons comes walking towards our direction.

“Pr’thcor, what have you brought here?!”

“Children!? How amusing! It’s been so long since I saw tiny creatures like these!~”

“Elves! And human? What about this man here? He feels so unreal to be a human.”

“Hey, Pr’thcor! Can they handle their alcohol?!”

“This is interesting! Can we keep them?! Please, let’s keep them!”

“Shut up you lot! Show some restraint and keep your elder dragon form in check! You guys are scaring them!”

Old man Pr’thcor shoos them all and scolded those who are in their dragon form.

Unlike Master and some dragon kin I saw above ground, these people are more brisk and larger. They have much wilder looks and more brutish outlay for their human form as spikes and scales covers most of their skins. They also have horns on their head that they aren’t even trying to hide.

All of them wears similar clothing like a nomad with casual armor plating in their torso and limbs.

And all of them are similar in one thing.

By nature, all of them exude a strong amount of power individually. Their appearance didn’t scare me but it made me flinch a little when I felt how strong they are and how they boldly show it.

They stare at us with sparkling eyes but some are eyes that saw another prey. Pr’thcor parted them and led the way towards a building.

Ichirou seems unfazed by them as he just casually walks but for me and Casablanca, we held each other tighter as we walk because we don’t know, someone might jump at us and eat us whole.

In the end, nothing happened to us and we safely passed through the crowd of giant dragons and onlookers and we arrived at the building where Pr’thcor seemingly lives.

.

.

.

“So yeah, welcome to my abode!”

“Thank you for having us…”

“I’ll show you your rooms. Me and Ichirou buddy already talked this out so don’t worry.”

“Yeah…”

Huge!

The house is freaking huge!

It is not as elegant and graceful as the Astlan Castle but this is insanely huge! The doors, the stairs and even the decorations are huge! It’s like the whole house is mocking me for being small!

The old man led us to our room on the first floor which made me relief because it seems the stairs will drain my stamina before I could climb it.

“I think a single room is fine for you ladies.”

“A single room? The beds?”

“One only.”

“Eh? But…”

I stopped.

The bed is absurdly huge too. It can hold up to seven of me. The bed is large too and it is made out of cotton but it looks amazingly soft.

Ichirou carried Hibiscus to the bed and laid her there. Casablanca and I also run off towards the bed and began bouncing our bodies to it.

Fair enough, we bounce like a rubber ball!

It was so soft and comfy that our body sank right to it.

“You girls relax here, someone will be bringing food for the three of you later so stay here for a while.”

“What about you and Ichirou-nii?”

“We will be having the continuation of our bout! Hahaha”

“Okay…”

“Also… little whitey…”

“Asagao…my name is Asagao…”

“Whatever.”

“…”

“I want to talk to you later. About Lord Mrothgir and such but before that, I want you to prove that…”

“That…?”

“You are really his disciple. I want you to show me the proof that you trained the Calm Dragon Tempest under him. I would like to see how authentic you are and to know why he has chosen you.”

“I…understand…”

“Well, then, let’s go, friend! To the tavern!”

Ichirou left with Pr’thcor in a jolly mood.

It seems he has become and drunken addict.

For now, I guess we’ll take out time here before we do anything since it’s a rare opportunity to sleep in this kind of bed, or place, or whatever…

This is the Lost Capital, City of Hujinn. It is previously named as Mujinn but it was renamed as it was rebuilt underground by these people and the name is dedicated to Krothgir, Master’s brother. It seems we will find out more about this city in our stay.
