Demon Lord Cattleya led us to an empty yard with nothing but flowers and trees around. She walks a bit distance from us and speaks.

Susanoo and I told her that we really don’t need any preparations. The one who is truly in question is the girl tagging behind us, Diyu.

I tried to call out to her.

With that, I gestured to Cattleya that Diyu is okay.

Cattleya blushes as Susanoo strokes her head gently. Her smile is blooming and her cheeks are flushed. I already know what’s going on. Knowing this guy, it’s probably just to praise a kid for doing their best.

I really don’t have any strange feeling or anything. We just passed through it like nothing.

As we got to the other side, Cattleya, Followed closely by Susanoo, Diyu and I walk at the same pace while going to our destination. I spark a conversation between us because of one curiosity that I had.

After walking for about five minutes, we have already sightings of the devil’s army. As I look at it, its number seems twice than the army we fought back then.

Susanoo looks at me in the eyes telling me that he is ready to fight them. I grin at his look as he is motivated than usual. He steps towards the marching devils when suddenly, Cattleya stops him.

“Sir Susanoo, if I may, I want to make a pre-emptive attack before you and Sir Ichirou charges. Please, I want to help as much as I can!”

“I see no problem with it. Please, do so.”

“Yes!”

With Susanoo’s reply, Cattleya answered cheerfully. She takes out a staff from her dimensional storage. The staff is crimson in color and has a crescent decoration at the tip. In the middle, there’s a ruby stone embedded to it that sparkles.

Cattleya holds the staff with both hands vertically in front of her and started chanting.

My body trembles as magic started to surge the surrounding. The earth tremors as Cattleya chanted the spell she’s about to use. The atmosphere becomes unstable and the wind becomes violent.

We take a step back from her as she continues chanting the aria in unknown words. Language unknown to us began to manifest around her and large circles appeared beneath her.

The power keeps rising?! Unimaginable magic is being concentrated from her body. This is Cattleya’s power… Amazing…

Diyu sticks close behind my back. It seems she already knows what’s to come.

After a few more seconds, Cattleya’s spell finished and she shouted the spell’s name and points it towards the army of devils.

Cattleya falls down as her spell ended and Susanoo quickly catches her. She carried her in his arms.

“Sorry Sir Susanoo, my stamina can’t hold out that much when I cast a spell. I’ll be okay after a while. I can re-cast another one but it will take some time.”

“No, you’ve done plenty. Good girl.”

“Ehehehe!”

Susanoo praised her again and she laughed shyly.

I focus my eyes on the meteor that was about to fall to the devils. I mean, the impact of it will be no joke that it will also cause a shockwave towards us.

“Ichirou.”

“I know!”

As the meteor falls…

“[Mountain Cleaver!]”

I lay down the Mountain Cleaver horizontally in front of us to avoid the shockwave. The ground shakes violently and the earth tremors greatly. I immediately grab Diyu’s hand and shove her into my body and hug her as I turn my back towards where the meteor fell, protecting her if ever the Mountain Cleaver can’t hold out.

Susanoo distorted the space around him and Cattleya so they have a stable footing and to absorb the shockwave that will come.

The Mountain Cleaver didn’t break and was able to protect us. I made a sigh of relief as all of us are safe. Did Cattleya really done it?

“I-I-I-I-ICHIROU! H-H-HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN TO HOLD ME?!”

Diyu shouted at me as I was still holding her tightly in my chest. Her face is red, really red! Her ears are even beet red.

I immediately let go of her from my embrace.

“Sorry!”

“G-geez…that…surprised me… Tell me first if you are going to do that...idiot…”

Susanoo’s speaks as we keep staring at each other. We quickly look the other way as he scolded us.

“Ichirou, remove this.”

“The mountain cleaver? Sure.”

The Mountain Cleaver dissipates into light as I dematerialize it. It’s cool that it can act as a large wall like this.

What the hell…

What we saw as the Mountain Cleaver was removed is the army of devils still marching towards us. There was a gigantic crater in the middle of their ranks. Their number was reduced by half with Cattleya’s Deep Impact when it should completely eliminate them.

And top of that, the devils far back is lumping with each other. Mass of devil keeps getting taller and taller. Devils climb at each other to the top until it’s thrice bigger than my Mountain Cleaver.

“Ichirou, remember about the Archdevils, right?”

“Yes…”

“It seems they are the real deal. I can feel several of them inside that lump of mass…that giant… Also, it seems because of them, half of them survived.”

“Well,…that’s a real problem…”

As we stare at the lump forming into a giant, Cattleya who is being carried in Susanoo’s arms speaks.

“I…I’m sorry… my power wasn’t enough and I miscalculated…”

“Don’t worry. This is where I and that guy come. You rest here with Diyu and we shall clear them all.”

“Yes.”

As Susanoo said that, he comes towards Diyu and hands Cattleya to her.

Diyu’s face is kind of funny and complicated as she holds Cattleya in her arms. Cattleya just smiles cheerfully at Diyu.

Diyu then sits and lays Cattleya in her lap while being a bit flustered.

“Well then, let’s go, Artificial Hero.”

“Heh. I don’t want to hear that from a Good Samaritan Reaper.”

“That’s actually quite a cool title.”

I look back at Diyu.

“Please, take care of things here while we go. I will return to you, Diyu.”

“W-why do you have to act cool at this time?!”

“Ahahaha…”

Susanoo and I charge towards the devils. As we close our distance to them…

“Ichirou, I cannot use Mortem at that size of the enemy. Take care of it. I shall clear out the small fries.”

“Lazy as ever… But that might give me a bit of challenge!”

I jump high from the ground towards the giant and shouted to provoke it and take its attention while Susanoo charges at the frontline of the devils.

“UUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!”

“[Mountain Cleaver! Twin Swords!]”

I conjured two Mountain Cleaver that point towards the sky, falling diagonally to the giant devil. While cutting up the wind as I swing the Hundred Meter Swords down, the giant moves accordingly to block my attack with its arms.

BOOM!

RUMBLE!

Tsk! It’s too hard. I was able to nudge the swords meters deep but it cannot completely cut it up.

This is…going to be fun.

I turn back to look at Susanoo and he is moving around with a black sword in his hand, slashing hundreds of devils with one stroke.

“I wish I brought some drinks to heat things up. Well, I need to focus for now.”

“[Heaven Splitter!]”

I conjure a large battle axe in my hands as I landed behind the giant devil. The Battle Axe Heaven Splitter is as large as Hundred Meter Sword Mountain Cleaver.

I swing it upward towards the giant devil’s flank. It creates a violent gust the blows away the devils on the ground that was approaching me.

Because its movement is slow, it wasn’t able to block it this time. The Heaven Splitter was able to dig further than the Mountain Cleaver did but wasn’t able to cut it down completely.

The Heaven Splitter was completely lodged in its body so I dematerialize it. The giant regenerated as the battle axe was removed.

It’s tough, it’s big and it regenerates.

But I shall cut it down at all cost with every weapon in my arsenal!
