Chapter 154: Onwards, to the Lost Capital, Hujinn! 3

Pr’thcor never answered my question about why are the twins a bad omen and continues sipping his liquor. Instead of pursuing the topic, I just leave him alone on his own devices because I know those kinds of people.

They are those who sees the excitement from a situational development and for that, they will only give out small hints. As such, whatever predicament we may end up with, as long as he is satisfied, he will keep coming with us.

Seriously, why do people like him was born in this world anyway?

Since I don’t have anything better to do, I took the food from old man Pr’thcor and make my way towards Casablanca who is walking around in circles and offered to eat with me but she refuses.

“What’s the matter?”

“Is Hibiscus alright, Miss Asagao?”

“She got just drunk. Although I guess if she wakes up, she’ll be ending up with a hangover.”

“…”

“You seem uneasy. What’s on your mind, Casablanca?”

“Uuhhh…”

“Don’t cry…! Just tell me what’s wrong?”

“Ah…”

Now that I took a closer look at Casablanca, she trembles a bit and her hands which she placed on her chest shake. Her eyes seem down and her lips are kind of pale. She looks extremely troubled by something.

I should tread lightly for the reason that I don’t want to agitate her further.

“Is it because of the kiss earlier?”

“No, it’s not that! I really don’t mind that.”

“I’m sorry if I am being pushy. Is it something you don’t want to talk about?”

“Not necessarily but… I think it’s embarrassing.”

“I see. If that’s the case then I won’t pursue further.”

“No…! I don’t mind if it is Miss Asagao but please, don’t tell anybody.”

“Oh..? I promise.”

“Okay…”

Casablanca breathes in and out repeatedly to calm herself. After for about three minutes, she started talking.

“Actually… I’m really lonely without Hibiscus. I can’t find any comfort at all if she isn’t here right next to me. I feel desolated inside. I don’t know what to do if something happened to Hibiscus!”

“……”

That’s all?!

No, it should be a serious case for this girl here. I shouldn’t underestimate her familial love with Hibiscus. They said that sometimes, in a siblinghood of twins, one would come out the reliable one and the other would be the reliant.

I just wonder how much Casablanca is attached to Hibiscus and vice versa. I never had any thought of what would these two thinking. They will just willingly obey decisions by adults or the people in charge.

They are extremely polite and if the opportunity is given, they will act accordingly to their age depending on whom they are dealing or talking with. They are well educated, have modest behavior and reasoning for themselves.

But, those alone won’t let them tackle the reality of society.

Well, they are still young and they still have a lot to learn. Also, I don’t have any rights to lecture them about society as I am very immature myself. Everything that happened to me was just a way to make me realize that.

Moving on, Casablanca is extremely troubled because of Hibiscus not being by her side. I reminded myself that these two are my younger sisters to protect physically and mentally.

“Is that what’s weighing on your mind?”

“Yes…”

“Why don’t you just go where Hibiscus is?”

“Even if I do so…”

“As her sister, why don’t you look after her? I want someone to call to us when she wakes up. Think of this as a task given to you. That way, you are distracting your mind from the worry at the same time, looking after Hibiscus.”

“I see. Miss Asagao is so smart!”

“No, not really.”

“You are! You are also calm but brave. You always stand before us to protect us. Unlike me…”

“Hmm?”

“No, nothing, please forget about it! I’ll be off then!”

“Yeah…”

Casablanca shoots off towards the tent where Hibiscus is dead drunk. In the future, I want to know more about them. I want to know what they really feel about me and how do they see me. I feel now that there is something missing between us.

That something missing is the key for Divine Ascension’s activation.

What catalyst do I need for it to be activated? How did it go well with Higan and why is it unstable with Alstroe that time?

There should be underlying principles and rules about divine power but I know one thing for sure, the strength of the heart and kindness of the recipient and the degree of bond with me is one of the important factors.

That means, somehow, they still don’t trust me at all or they still fear something. I am certain that one of those is what stopping my divinity from ascending them.

For the meantime, I eat the salted stir fried vegetables.

………

It tastes terrible.

After three hours, Hibiscus woke up with the expected hangover and immediately treated by one of the vials Violetta gave me before but it wasn’t enough to expel the drowsiness she is feeling so she has to endure it.

For Casablanca, instead of actually looking out for her twin, she also fell asleep beside her while holding her hand and cuddling to her.

And so, as planned, we immediately depart and our destination is the lost capital this old man is talking about. I am not doubting him, it’s just that, I kind of feel like something is about to happen.

“Uhhh… I feel like the whole world is spinning…”

“Hibiscus, are you okay?! Can you even walk?”

“I don’t think I can…”

“Eh…?! What to do…?”

I really don’t know what to do myself so don’t look at my direction.

But it seems the so reliable Ichirou heard and walk towards the twins. As he did, he kneels down in front of them showing his back.

“If you’d like, I can carry you on my back.”

“Fuu… I shall.”

Hibiscus didn’t hesitate and rides at Ichirou’s back without abandon. It seems her dizziness is affecting her decision making. More likely, she is able to talk without reservation this time and it shows that she is much bolder than Casablanca.

Meanwhile, Casablanca who saw this becomes a little red. She seems furious about what Ichirou did but he didn’t notice it. Casablanca’s protest ended with a pout.

And so, we started walking but before that, I ask the old man Pr’thcor something.

“Old man…”

“What is it, young lady?”

“How far do we need to travel to get to the lost capital anyway? Is somewhat a whole day, three days or even weeks?”

“Ohh? Now that you’ve mentioned…”

He stops talking and continues walking.

As we turn around in a corner, the walls seemingly become higher and the path becomes wider than before. In front of us, there was a large door installed at the far end of this path. The door was yellowish in color but….for some reason, it feels really ominous.

“It has…an absurd amount of magic…”

“Casablanca…?”

“There’s a terrifying amount of magic that overflows not from inside that door but the door itself.”

“I'm amazed of how sensitive you are with magic.”

“I am not sensitive to magic. I may be talented with it but I am average when it comes to foresight and sensing. It’s just that, this one here stands out too much that I could already tell.”

If that is the case, then I have to believe that my hunch earlier is the real deal and I have to prepare for the worst.

The old man leads us to the door.

As we arrive at front of it, the gigantic door didn’t open from the side but it moves backward, retracting inwardly as it raises itself from the ground up to the air.

It was an amazing sight, but as the old mad led us further in, we saw it.

The city he was talking about.

A city deep under the earth where the sun cannot shine inside and but the place is bright due to the crystals filling the whole place. I can already see the houses and buildings below. There’s still quite a distance but one could already tell that the city is really big.

Not to mention, the whole place is covered in earth but the walls and ceilings are so high that even if a dragon flies, they have an almost limitless free space to glide over.

But what sent shivers to my spine is the extraordinary amount of magical energy. It’s all over the place. It’s like I am back at the demon continent where magic is ample everywhere.

“Old man, this place! This is that, right? The Lost Capital City of Hujinn!”

“Correct. It is formerly named as Mujinn but since the death of Lord Krothgir, we named it after his true name.”

“True name?!”

“Yes. There is only handful of dragon kins that knows about Lord Mrothgir and Lord Krothgirs true name.”

“C-Can I know about it?”

“Absolutely. Lord Mrothgir’s true name is Mujinn and Lord Krothgir is Hujinn. Their true names were based on a foreign mythology brought by a certain hero tens of thousands years ago. The names were originally Munnin and Huginn. Our lords were originally the world’s overseer for that hero who raised them.”

“Those names… Also, what’s with this place?! Why does it brim with magical energy?!”

“Ah, so that’s what it is. It was so common for us but, we didn’t know that people would immediately react to it.”

“……”

“We are actually…inside Lord Krothgir. His body is still brimming with such energy even after his death a thousand years ago. Those shining crystals are the proof that the magic here is still rich.”

Amazing…

I heard about demon lords leaving their magic essence as they die and even after their deaths, they dead body still releases strong magical energy. I never thought that the dragons could be the same.

Even with the size of this body which comparable to a four concert dome, it still manages to brings life and vigor.

“This is great! To think that you guys actually lives inside Lord Krothgir’s body.”

“Um…Missy…”

“What?”

“This is just the head…”

“Eh…?

This… place…which is a lot bigger than the Astlan Capital…by a margin of ten times… is still just the head?!
