I slowly step back away from the appearance of Daisy who brandished her sword towards Boss. There was something amiss about Daisy. No, I am certain that she is not Daisy anymore based on the heavy presence that she exudes.
Daisy has an air of a little bit arrogant yet a delicate sweetness brat on her and that’s what I found adorable about her, however, the one standing in front of me is like a warrior who fought a hundred wars, exuding an air of an absolute monarch that dresses her eyes with dignity tinged with lament.
I could tell since Fonfon and the other kings and queens that I met have an air to them that compels people to know who is on top. Well, it’s not their every single day thing as Fonfon shows a lot of his soft side towards me.
I do appreciate his sternness sometimes…I really do.
“Well, well, settle down. The white and I made an arrangement in our duel. You intervening really don’t help.”
Did Boss’ really refer to me as the white one?! Fair enough as there are no other people here with white hair and fair white skin and wearing a white shirt!
The supposed-Daisy bring her sword down and but she made no opening in her guard despite taking a stance of noncombat mode.
“Yes, I wouldn’t strike down a foe unable to swing a sword, much less, broke her sword.”
“Much obliged.”
Boss, approached by one of her cahoots, the elven archer, assisted her in standing up while glaring at the supposed-Daisy. There was no animosity towards the elven archer as Daisy looks at them with eyes of pity.
“This is…another unusual factor in the fray. Hehe…Haha…HAHAHA! This is so hilarious! Whenever you are involved, unbelievable things like this happens!”
“……”
Boss was just giggling before breaking out in a feat of laughter as she looks at me with pure joy and excitement. Her laughter reverberates in the torrent of rain with the heavy weather filled with gray clouds.
She said those words as if she knows me. That’s when the pieces in my head fit perfectly together now and a click like unlocking a door sounded inside my head.
“Higanbana…”
Upon uttering that name audible enough for everyone to hear, Boss’ cahoots stops with gaping mouths as if something big really did get revealed. However, amidst the reaction most of the people on-site sprouted, the person herself didn’t show much flabbergast of a countenance.
Instead, the cheeky prick made an amused and mocking grin!
“Oh? Who might that be?”
“All your motives earlier showed it! Gestures and movement-wise, I can tell with this much evidence!”
“I don’t exactly follow any of your words. However, my motives stay the same. Since we couldn’t conclude the match, I’ll retreat for now.”
“I clearly won!”
“At the behest of whom exactly? Other than my friends here, does anyone here can disprove that?”
“D-Daisy here…I supposed.”
I gleefully looked at Daisy. However, a glare of slight discomfort shoots back.
“Whether to disprove her claim that the battle ended in your favor or not cannot fall under my judgment. Honestly, a seeping bitterness stills my tongue from choosing favors as I did abruptly break into an honorable duel. In any case, I have no words to give out.”
“Eh…?!”
I can feel the pit of my stomach churning as the tide of the situation was overturned and suddenly, there’s no victor or loser at all!
I admit that we are not using our power to its utmost limit and only fought with our raw strength in this weather. I am amazed that despite this downpour, we still fought. Not to mention, Mimi was safely reared inside a magical barrier that sweeps off the rain from above her. She’s also fairly handled well but sure enough, the bloodstain on her clothes doesn’t explain much.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Rearing back on track, I want to claim victory over this battle, however, as I was about to lay down a protest…
“Ack…geho…geho…”
Boss started a coughing fit and even behind her grin is an extremely pale face. Afterward, she held onto her flank and slight stain of blood marked bright onto her clothes.
“Boss…that’s why I told you not to!”
“Now, now, still yourself and accept my apology.”
The elven archer scolded her sternly as she took out a small box. It was an ointment and she deftly applied it on the part where the bleeding starts.
Upon seeing this, I felt a little guilty knowing that the probability that she is Higan is close to a hundred percent. She might be injured when we fought and now, she might just be sick being out in this rain for so long.
Speaking of soaking under the rain, I look over at the supposed-Daisy worriedly.
“I have several questions.”
I raise a finger while making a quizzically and visibly confused countenance because, when I squint hard enough, her body isn’t actually wet but the rainwater just slides off from her body. While Boss was being treated under a newly made roof barrier, the supposed-Daisy looks at me with a default countenance.
“Oh? I’m just making full use of this body’s speculation. Creating a thin layer of magical fiber to repel natural threat is quite an easy feat with it. Not only, her body is trained but is still a greenhorn. I am quite baffled at the Ki energy. I’m going to make full use of how it circulates before leaving.”
“Based from what you just said, you are not the Daisy that we know…and how you use magic…it seems you are extremely familiar with it.”
“I learned a lot.”
“Doesn’t really speak much of you…Also, Daisy’s consciousness…”
“Let us leave the talking for later. This is an inappropriate time and place for such an occasion. The downpour is getting heavier with no sign of stopping.”
How did everything played out this way?
………
While kneading my temples with my finger, I started rearranging all the events happening right now. From the Astlan Castle, Alstroemeria is doing a deep-seated meditation for some reason I don’t know and the castle is probably a war-zone right now with Nil walking around there and Fonfon together with Violetta throwing killing glares.
While all that is happening, I thoughtlessly ran here in the elven kingdom to help subdue the war from the shadows but every single thing as goes now…
Boss’ entourage intervening with our intervention and unknown motives, the arrival of a legendary figure from a long and famous tale, and now, the awakening of Mimi into her memories, possibly know as the daughter of the Demon Lord Baal from hundreds of years ago.
It’s frustrating to be kept from a lot of things…
“Fine, fine, fine! I’m getting really tired from all these mystery shits! I want some answers so at the very least, could you fill me in a lot of things later to so I can have on thing less to worry about.”
I pointed at the supposed-Daisy with an extremely frustrated countenance.
“…That man hasn’t dropped a word about it? It is so like him.”
“That man? Well, I already knew it. I just wanted a confirmation…”
“That makes things easier. Shall we move on now?”
“Wait please.”
I called out while looking at Mimi.
“We will be taking her.”
“What?! Wait, what made decide that!? Don’t you think this is too much Hig--!”
“I am not the person you are thinking of. This is leeway for me. If you attack me, I’ll make sure my companion will do something to your unconscious friend over there.”
“Don’t give me that crap!”
Boss’ cahoots drew their weapons with a serious glint in their eyes. A sword and magic pointed at her neck while the elven archer points her bow towards us.
I thought that we’ve settled this though forcibly but to think they’ll pull something this low!
“I would like your friends to pull their weapons away too.”
“What are you—wait…!”
Outside the radius of which my intangible barrier spans, three figures from behind some trees far away comes out. Under the shade of the cloak that they wore, I immediately knew it was Casablanca, Hibiscus, and Topaz.
I couldn’t sense them at all… It seems each one of them developed stealth skills behind my back…
“You failed to notice them too? Well, admitting it, I haven’t until a few seconds ago. You might have been to focus on the way of the sword that you couldn’t develop skills outside of it.”
“I don’t need hard handed lessons right now…”
Daisy shrugs with an uninterested look on her face. The three starts walking closer to me while being wary towards Boss’ and her entourage.
“Oho? You wouldn’t attack the poor me now, right?”
“Just return Mimi. There’s something complicated and delicate about her situation right now…”
“…The more we need to steer her clear of this mess now, do we?”
“What do you mean?”
“I decided. I’ll tell you this right now as it calls for immediate attention.”
Boss straightens her back and faces me once more with dead serious eyes.
“Be careful. Dylan of the Order of the Arcana Sin is pulling a major string in this war. Ether technology and whatnot are involved and the elves are doomed to lose.”
“…That’s.”
Every single one…every single one of the Arcana Sins is horribly strong and has some few loose screws in their head. Most of their description are just word for word but facing one and knowing how absurd each one of them, I am inclined to believe their absurdities.
Hydrangea was a cold and a sadistic woman despite hailing from the fairy race known to be calm and reserved people. She has the Arcana of Wrath which makes her perpetually angry but doesn’t show in her face. It is sad to say that she is madly strong…strong enough to incapacitate Alstroe and to instill fear on Fonfon…relationship-wise.
Flow, the wolf guy that seemingly clicking alarms inside my head, was a battle maniac guy who has the Arcana of Gluttony. The description is unclear but his gluttony basically eats away at anything under a special circumstance such as logic and concept. He was defeated by Higan and later on, was killed by Ichirou and Hasu.
C’rthgor the Arcana of Pride and Sistina the Arcana of Lust has some questionable power up to this point. Their powers as I’ve heard are too vague to determine how dangerous they are but I know for sure that they easily curbed master.
The Arcana of Greed is…never heard from him…but I heard he was a dwarf. It was so typical…
And then…the mystery of the new Arcana of Envy, the traitor among the summoned heroes, Shun. He hasn’t made any appearance since backstabbing and killing one of the heroes. It was quite a blow in everyone’s mind that someone backstabs us.
And the finally the Arcana of Sloth, Dylan, the Mysterious Etherian who has a vast knowledge about technology unfathomable even with my modern day knowledge of technology…at least, in the age of time I came from.
Dylan was quite a goofy and a real pervert as I heart. Not only that, he created the quasi human-devil that is Topaz now together with her three older sisters. I saw how powerful he was when we fought the invasion of the devils and his, among everything I saw, was capable of complete annihilation in a large area of effect. The technologies that the Etherian made are also glorified by Merissa and Co. as it was the utmost limits of this era’s advancement.
With this information at hand, I can say…I’m sweating coldly.
“I told you something major. I will be taking my leave now.”
Boss and her entourage leave with Mimi in tow.
Something inside my head tells me that I should trust them with Mimi’s wellbeing and none of my intuition is blaring off about it.
There are urgent things right now…especially…
“Then…let’s head back on our own and have a good and long chat…King Arthur Pendragon.”
“Yes, I’m sure questions abound.”
