Chapter 135: Mutual Enemies: Ashfon Versus Nil 4

Divine Possession.

It is one of the implanted skills in this body. Remembering it now, my awareness of it came back. No, this body remembers it by itself, not me who inhabited it. I, who transmigrated in a body of a transcendence created by Nivalis, my mother, just mixed its feeling to my own.

It is the proof that I am, slowly but surely, merging with this body.

A divine being in a guise of a small child, sculptured and molded by the creator akin to herself, hence, my mother.

The power of Divine Possession, by the word itself, is confusing.

Usually, it has an impression of a Divine entity possessing and taking over a host or a body of an individual, thus, being a vessel for that entity.

But for us, it’s different.

Divine Possession is absorbing a strong spirit. Not any ordinary spirit, a spirit that can assimilate and resonate with us, in short, a sentient creature of being with a property of a spirit of a spirit itself with intelligence.

As these compatible partners are absorbed, they become a weapon, enabling us to fight, a weapon that only we, transcendental beings are only capable of materializing through a partner whom we make our own things. Hence, a possession of us Divine entities.

But, powerful partners are rare to almost none.

This is what this body, the memory within, tells me. It is what this body recalls.

Also, I am fully aware of why Nil can use such skill.

Astlan Lionheart being our father, a hero, and Nivalis, the Goddess of Blessing, our mother, making a body of a half transcendental being and human.

I no longer hold that body and instead, I accidentally possessed this empty shell of a little girl who is now known as Asagao Lionheart.

.

.

.

As Nil showcased Divine Possession, he and Fonfon engages in an exchange of blow, albeit, they are fighting toe to toe, Nil on occasion has his limbs flying multiple times.

But to no avail, he just restores his body with no visible damage or even slightest scratch.

I, Violetta and Master can only watch the spectacle happening in front of us as two powers collides at each other. It’s been a while now since the whole place caved in and litters of rock flies everywhere.

But, will all that said, Fonfon lost the chance to win against Nil.

He can’t go all out against Nil who is using Hydrangea as his Divine Possession, thus, Fonfon never once parried the beautiful deep sapphire sword. Instead, he dodges every attack with just a hair width difference and strikes Nil at vulnerable spots.

But as said earlier, Nil is Immortal.

“Hydrangea, can you hear me?! Please, you have to stop siding with Nil!”

It was Fonfon’s desperate plea as he tries to call out to Hydrangea as he dodges the sword that was swung towards his shoulder. Nil attacks with no reservation… or so it seems.

In reality, Nil looks like he is just playing around while he consecutively unleashes sloppy attacks. He is just playing around unlike Fonfon.

“What’s wrong, Ashfon?!~”

“Let her go!”

“Eh?~”

“What are you even trying to achieve by doing this?!”

“Who knows?”

Seemingly pissed, he can’t do anything but to bite down his lip until it bleeds.

He dodges another on slash coming to his flank by twisting his body and leaping upwards. As Fonfon do so, he executed a barrage of piercing attack towards Nil with blinding speed.

Avoiding Hydrangea, he pierces Nil all over his torso and it extends to his throat and shoulders. Blood spurts out as the attack ends but seemingly, Nil didn’t flinch or even stagger from such degree of attacks.

As Nil’s wound instantly healed up, he then attacks Fonfon by stroking his sword downwards, creating slicing shockwaves but, with Astlan’s Ira, Fonfon protected his self from it and counters with a cross slash.

SWISH!

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

His attack stops midway as Nil brandishes Hydrangea towards Fonfon’s attack as a shield. Fonfon immediately draws back and leaps several meters away.

“Hydrangea!”

“Wha--?!”

A transparent, clear voice resounds from the sword!

There’s no mistaking it! It’s Hydrangea’s voice!

“Oh? My, my Hy, you should have spoken earlier, you know?”

“Ah!~ I’m really scared of him, you know? You should scold your boyfriend!”

“How diligent!~”

Nil and Hydrangea discuss among themselves.

It was so sudden that Hydrangea suddenly spoke that everyone got confused. But listening to the voice coming from the winged sapphire sword, it is, without a doubt, Hydrangea.

“Hydrangea! You’re fine after all!”

“I’m going to save you, Hydrangea! I’m going to release you from his grasp!”

“But…! Why…?!”

“You want me to…”

“Me…?”

He…has gotten soft?

It had me thinking what is he like ten years ago? If I met him in this appearance in that time, will he also accept me as it is or he will do the opposite?

We had our difficulties and have our differences exposed, but we got through it. The first time we’ve met, he was doubtful, distrustful and even to an extent, insensitive.

But as I got to know him, he gradually becomes nicer to me. That’s what I’d like to believe too but, it’s because of my outward appearance. Not to mention… I was…really shy back then… and I am really uncomfortable being a girl…no less… a small one.

When that incident happened and we both reach out to each other to understand one another, it got better. I can be myself, although, nothing really changed except that I got rid of my extreme shyness. He treated me casually too as a little sister and truly began to look up to him as a big brother.

We are both trying to change to be a better person and that’s a fact.

So, what about the Ashfon Astlan Lionheart ten years ago?

“I cannot…deny that…”

“Yes. It is as you said… I was able to break the shell I am within because of her! Because of my little sister that I love!”

“No…! I meant… like a family!”

That’s quite embarrassing too!

Don’t ever do that in front of anyone ever again!

“Hey! Are we going to fight or chat?! Because if you two just chat and leave me out, better go get yourself some tea and snacks! This is why I hate drama! Is there a skip button somewhere?!”

Nil loudly exclaimed.

“Hy, I am bored now. Let’s finish things up.”

The two agreed and planned to end the battle. But how are they going to do it?

True, Nil just leisurely fights Fonfon even up until now. But it is because Fonfon is holding back not to hurt Hydrangea. The battle isn’t one-sided but only a stalemate that would just gradually drain both of them of their will and mental strength.

Nil tightens his grip and straighten his posture, his annoying smug from earlier is now painted with emotionless eyes and lips.

SWISH!

Eh…?!

Nil’s movement gotten sharper and the stroke of his sword become fierce. His façade earlier completely disappeared.

Fonfon just dodges that attack, albeit, it was harder to evade than before. But he still tries to read Nil’s attacks for a counter.

No more wasted movements.

No more shallow strokes.

No more wide swings that completely useless.

Nil is attacking Fonfon with a completely different style from earlier. A reckless barrage without caring for oneself, at the same time, it completely annihilates every possible counter.

Fonfon is stepping back as he dodges the barrages of strikes that are coming from all direction. Upward, downward, left to right and right to left. All attacks give off the same patterns but it’s visibly hard to follow!

Nil then took a huge step forward while retracting the sword horizontally that perpendicularly aligns to his shoulder.

And with one breathe…

SHING!

He launches off the attack as if piercing the wind. It created a violent whirlwind the thrusts towards Fonfon. But what’s lethat about the attack isn’t the thrust itself but the compressed energy with and output that could pierce anything that was fired off together with it.

But because he was able to correctly reads it, Fonfon dodges it, albeit, getting grazed a little in the neck.

He rushes towards Nil with his own thrust towards Nil’s heart.

SWISH!

BAKIN!

“Tsk!”

“[Barrier]”

The thrust was no mere attack.

The sword on his left hand is covered with Astlan’s Ira. It tried to penetrate the barrier’s defense and fired off a wave of dark blazing flame. It turned everything around them to ashen instantly.

You would think that Nil was completely swallowed by a sea of dark flames but, the instant Astlan’s Ira cleared up, he was standing there with the tip of Fonfon’s sword buried into him.

He then snickers.

“Game Over.”

He raises the sword overhead and aims for Fonfon.

In reflex, Fonfon holds up his other sword in his right arm to catch the incoming attack from Nil. He even covered it with Astlan’s Ira.

The winged sapphire sword dimly lit with a purple radiance, which means, Nil is imbuing the sword with something.

FWIP!

A quick stroke of sword diagonally, from shoulder to flank…

Wait…what happened?!

“Urk..! it… passes through my guard…?!”

“It’s more accurate to say it phased through.”

What happened…?

Nil…or specifically…Hydrangea…phases through…not only to the sword but Fonfon’s body…

It didn’t leave any indications of slash…or damage…

“UWAAAGHHH!! WHAT---! ARRRHGGHH!”

“Ashfon!”

“Human king!”

Master and Violetta shouted seeing Fonfon suffers from an unseen pain! He’s holding his body as he agonized. They both run towards the fallen Fonfon to rescue.

Master transforms into his dragon form…the largest one and flies toward the sky while Violetta heads directly to him.

“Asagao! Don’t you dare leave that spot!”

“[Barrier!]”

“[Ancient Protection!]”

Master and Violetta both surrounded me with their barriers together with the panicking Casablanca and Hibiscus and…Milin…

………

But…

I remembered that creepy power Nil has.

There’s also the one he used to take down Alstroe…

“[Pain of Hearts!]”

“I told you…it’s game over.”

“ACK!!!”

Nil coldly declares as he turns his back from Fonfon.
