Who are these people?

There are so many people appearing around Asagao lately. This man…and that man…I can even barely recall their names, however, I know that they are someone close to Asagao.

I…have already confessed to Asagao. I already told her that my feelings, that what I wanted is to become more friends. I wanted to become Asagao’s lover, however, since her common sense is different from this world, no, I may be the only one different, I am getting a really hard time to fall for me.

And then there’s this particular person who just needs to stir up everything, that guy with brown hair and metallic arm. It’s no doubt that I hate this man but since he is also Asagao’s friend and he rejected her, I am little complacent about it.

But seeing Asagao writhe in emotional pain is also painful for me whatever the reason it is for. One heart equivalent to another, her pain, I want to understand what pain she is carrying in her heart and I, unconditionally, will eliminate them.

But I too know better that all of her woes is something she kept to herself alone. It’s not that she doesn’t trust me or anyone, she just wants to keep every pain to herself contrary to how I initially met her.

I can only grit my teeth at times when I think about the times I wasn’t there for her when she feels lonely and sad. I can only be happy for her and at the same time, sad as she becomes more and more selfless.

Asagao shouted as she runs behind the woman called Mana who wields power unimaginable. Together with our allies, we run after her who keeps plowing through the hordes of devil. We haven’t changed to our Divine Ascension mode yet since Asagao refuses.

She said that we are still tired from our previous battles. I won’t deny it. I am tired and a little vexed that I was easily taken out by a devil general because of a moment of carelessness. I underestimated them and the price is defeat.

I followed behind Asagao. The two men that became her recipient for Divine Possession started plowing devils from the flank and together with Casablanca, Hibiscus, Topaz, and the girl called Rose, we are forced to stay in the center.

My magic hasn’t recovered yet and my body feels a little sluggish. It thanks to Rose healing me that I was able to stand. I heard that she is a summoned hero too with healing power that mended my wounds earlier with ease.

“Asagao, stay behind with us.”

“I can’t do that! I am on standby too to use divine possession if ever a Devil General appears. I also need to use a barrier to prevent the devils from breaking our formation.”

“That’s dangerous!”

“It has always been dangerous. Nothing has changed Higan. The only way I can think of it is to prevent further danger.”

She is reckless, she disregards her own limit and most of all, she thinks of everyone else before herself. I trust her but her actions make me anxious for her own safety. No matter, if Asagao’s life faces danger, I am going all out. I will save her and live through all of it.

After all, I am not going to die just to give her more heartache.

I turn to Casablanca and Hibiscus who are quietly following through. I can see in their eyes that they are also tired. I know that Divine Ascension gives you a strong enhancement through divine power, however, it puts a lot of stress in one’s body. The bird, Emby, seems to be doing fine.

“You two, why not go back for more rest?”

As I spoke to them, my cute sisters, their eyes lit in fierceness even with their tired eyes. They have the determination and resolve for everything.

The woman, Rose, speaks to me.

She is one of Asagao’s trusted friends from the group of summoned heroes. I like her and her good natured attitude.

Topaz is cute, adorable and has a certain charm to her that even though she is a devil, I am compelled to like her. From her face to her soft and large breasts to her squishy thighs, I like her more.

Also, it seems that she was the one who saves me and Mimi from the devil general earlier. I am glad she is strong too. She may look meek but she actually hides something from us. If I can too, I’d like to keep Topaz for myself.

Lastly, Mimi…

I find it a little hard to like her despite her boasting cuteness too. However, I know it. Deep inside her, she is somewhat unsure and a little fragile and she masked it with jolly attitude. I also know that she protected me and Topaz with her life.

I wouldn’t mind keeping her for myself too.

Without me noticing it, it seems we’ve gone so far now. I can already see a huge dark fortress hundreds of meters away from us.

Everything is going well but, Asagao and I felt something is not right.

Everything is going too well. There’s no intervention from that scum who hurt Asagao and there’s no more general devil to be in sight.

As far as I know about army rallying, there should be two more forces squeezing the huge influx of devils right now. From the east should be the Beast race army with the beast king himself and the beast generals in tow.

Mother should also be fighting right now to keep the devils at bay.

To the west are the leftover of the Dragon capital forces together with the fairies. Senya’s people should also be there so I myself is a little confident that they will have no any difficulty holding out. Along the coast are some pirates that Asagao befriended…is what I heard so I guess I’ll think about it later.

“Devil General detected. Someone is following us from the back.”

Topaz said that alerted everyone in the front. Everyone look back except Mana who kept her rampage.

We are almost there and a devil general just has to appear!

“It’s…Devil Jack. Within the ranks of devil generals, he is one of the most powerful next to the Devil Queen and Devil King. Be careful, his power is dislocation and teleportation.”

“Well said Topaz. Asagao! Move forward together with Mana! Since Hasu, and I cannot proceed inside there, we will hold this one off together with Mito!

As Topaz explained, the man with metallic arm told us to move along. However, it seems that he, the man with a spear and the giant red lizard will be staying.

Asagao looks back a little and nods, albeit her face is tinged with a little redness…

As we are running towards the huge black fortress, the presence of the devil general following our back becomes apparent.

A strong wave pugnacious power creeps towards my spine. I am not scared, however, I know when my instinct tells me if something is horribly dangerous and that one is definitely dangerous. As I look back, there it was…

A devil covered with ebony armor that gleams with a dark hue. The ambiance that could be felt from it is only intimidation and a weapon that cannot be even described anymore if it is a spear, a sword, or even a mace.

Its height is towering of three meters and it is even hardly burdened by its size as it leaps nimbly towards us.

The guy with a metallic arm, the one with a spear, and the red lizard stayed behind to stop the devil general. I too hope they would be safe too. Even I am not that heartless to wish for their deaths but know that it would cause Asagao so much grief.

Run…

We run and run and run. We tried to keep up with the pace of that insane woman in front of us. All of our training paid off as we are able to survive this long. By now, I am spent stamina wise, but my magical energy has recovered.

However, such thing, I doubt the twins have more to spare. Topaz looks fine despite not having any training like us. Is it because she was once a devil?

Rose who just joined the party was…barely able to keep up from running so she started flying with her fairy wings. Having wings seems really convenient and practical.

There we no more devils in front of us.

But none of us turn our heads to look back. We just kept running to the black fortress. There, the core of everything is in there, the one that caused Asagao too much pain.

I can see a huge sphere floating in the sky. The sky is filled with a lot of stars and the land we are standing is glowing with redness.

Asagao’s eyes are in shock together with Rose. I am a little confused as the world changes but for them, this is far too odd and shocking.
