We are just standing there silently, staring at the small demon lord who’s cowering behind Diyu. Her gaze tells us that she is fearful towards Susanoo and I. Diyu on the other hand is trying to break off from Cattleya’s embrace.

Is she referring to us, the people with Scary aura?

This child here is the demon lord? Then again, this small girl here has bigger rack than Diyu…

I can’t help not to notice it since it was swaying violently as Diyu shakes her off.

Diyu spoke in irritated manner as Cattleya clings to her…

Diyu seems like she is around eighteen years old. Then does this mean this small demon lord, Cattleya, is also eighteen years old?!

Honestly, that’s a really big discrepancy between their appearances for girls of their age.

As per my suggestion, Cattleya reluctantly agreed. We all sat down in the couch in the guest room. Sitting beside me is Susanoo and sitting directly opposite to us is Cattleya snuggling close to Diyu. It’s a feast to the eyes to be honest. Cute girls snuggling with each other, I mean.

Diyu took the initiative to speak.

“Cattleya, first of all, these two may look dangerous… no… they are… but I promise you they don’t mean harm.”

“Ahh! Is that so? If that’s what you say DIyu, I believe you.”

“Second, these two here thrashed the army of million of the devils in the east.”

Cattleya stands up and walks towards us. Right in front of us, Cattleya stops.

As we stare at her, she suddenly kneels down and bows her head. Hear forehead touches the ground as she does so.

“Forget it, Cattleya is stubborn.”

Diyu interjected.

I am confused on what to do. Before I could blurt out something any further, Susanoo and stands up and approaches Cattleya who is kneeling.

He holds her shoulder to lift her up from the ground and started patting her…

Think of the time, place and, occasion Susanoo!

My jaw drops from what this guy is doing! That girl is the Demon Lord you know! Even Diyu can’t believe what happened that she just stares in awe from what Susanoo did.

“There, there. Don’t blame yourself. It can’t be help. Little girls shouldn’t try to tackle too many tasks.”

“A-ahh…A-hh….!”

Cattleya reddens to the point she looks like a tomato. After Susanoo gave her a gentle stroke in the head, she swiftly retreated to Diyu’s side, hiding her face behind Diyu’s shoulder or rather, shielding her face from being seen.

What a bashful girl.

Susanoo sit back again. I can see the dejection in his eyes. I kind of know how Susanoo reacts from a certain situation being with him for a short time.

Still, I can’t believe that someone like Cattleya is the demon lord. She looks naïve and easily tricked. She is also shy and looks often scared.

“Umm…”

“Yes? What is it Demon Lord Cattleya?”

“I want to… discuss about the reward for you guys…”

“No… it’s fine. We really don’t need any. We are going shortly after this.”

“Eh… I see… it can’t be helped… I cannot impose on you any longer…”

After we told her that we are going to leave shortly, she easily gives up about the talk about the reward. Suddenly, a servant entered the room and speaks with Cattleya.

“My Lord, the council has already gathered, you need to prepare right away.”

“I…I see… I’ll follow shortly.”

The servant bows and leaves the room.

Cattleya bit her lip and looks at us and Diyu with saddened face.

“I am sorry… I need other matters to attend too… I’m sorry Diyu… I want to chat for a little longer…”

“You guys can go on ahead or if you would like, you can stay here. I’ll have the servants prepare rooms for you.”

“We will think about it.”

Susanoo surprisingly replied.

As Susanoo told his answer, I nodded in affirmation too. Cattleya smiles a bit and left the room in a hurry.

Silence filled the room. We just sit there motionless thinking of something individually. Diyu is seating uncomfortable as Cattleya left. Susanoo is knitting his brows from thinking something and I am trying to figure out something.

I then speak to Diyu

“Diyu… what is your relationship with Cattleya, A demon lord?”

“…We are just childhood friend… that’s all.”

“Tell me please, how is she has been the demon lord now?”

“It…has been six years now since she became one.”

“How old are you two…?”

“We’re…both…eighteen…”

“Hey! Are you saying she became the demon lord at age of twelve?!”

“Yes…”

“I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that Cattleya looks naïve and easily tricked, right?”

“Honestly, yes…”

“I think so too. It should have been my father who became the demon lord, not her! But you are underestimating Cattleya.”

“Her ability to lead the continent is good for her age already…”

Susanoo blurted out!

She answers like that. After heaving a sigh Diyu starts to contemplate something but…

Susanoo immediately stands up and beckons Diyu to lead the way.

Diyu leads the way and we exit the guest room.  We stride to the long hallway full of decorative armors. There are magical bulbs lighting the way as we walks. There are also painting of unknown people. They must be the previous demon lords.

What kind of qualification Cattleya has to be a demon lord anyway?

After ten minutes of walking, we arrive at a large door.

“Behind this door is where the council meeting is being held. We cannot barge in you know. And by the sound of it, they have already started.”

“That’s no problem at all.”

As Susanoo assured us, he casts a distortion magic creating a hole in the wall.

I thought he planned to breach the wall but it turns out that he created an invisible gap for us to peek inside the room without being detected.

Enough with your cheat power, Susanoo.

It’s like we are watching a television with only one perspective to look at.

At the room, there’s a large long table and people sits in a row. At the end of the long table sat Cattleya. She is sitting on a throne-like chair while the others are sitting in normal chairs.

BAM!

The long table was suddenly smacked by a fist.

It was Cattleya’s fist.

“What’s the meaning of this? You guys wanted to cut back the military personnel to guard the demon capital instead of sending help to our towns and cities!?”

“My lord, as the report says, devils are approaching the capital from the west. We need to fortify our defense!”

“And by that reasoning, you lot pulled out the more than half of forces I sent to the east?!”

“I am sorry my lord, but…”

“Fool! You only want to protect your own hide! Do you think I won’t be able to see through your cowardly schemes?!”

“Never mind you. Send me the report about the stocks about the food and military inventory. Also, send me about the agenda for the joint military meeting with the other race leader.”

Cattleya’s shy and bashful attitude suddenly changes into a strict and commanding one.

Even with her small body, she stands dignified against her subjects, even though some look down on her because she is a just a small girl.

I bet some of these assholes tried to use her as a puppet.

Even in this political plays, there are these kind of people with selfish goals. They are those kinds of people with lot of connection and shenanigans that they do behind their leaders back.

Cattleya, even though she is doing her best, is being pushed by her own subjects.

As the discussion gets heated, Cattleya is holding herself but more and more of the opposition increases.

We can clearly hear all the back stabbing they are spewing in the back such as…

“One of these days, this naïve stupid girl will know her place.”

“She favors the humans after all. If she was not the strongest among us, we would have usurped her a long time ago.”

“Peace treaties are such ignorant thing. We demons are made for war.”

“I’ll strangle this little brat if I get the chance.”

My ears can’t believe what I am hearing. I can feel veins popping out of my head.

I turn to look at Diyu…

It seems she already knows about this and she is in pain. I wanted to ask her but my question has already found its answer before I could even speak.

Cattleya also knows about this… she just ignores it.

And the man beside me…

Susanoo will blow any minute.
