Dear diary,

The study's starting to look really nice. There's books on the shelves and carefully placed plants for ambience. I even got a compliment from my history tutor.

I thought she was going to be wrinkly like Mrs. Wrinkles was, but she's surprisingly young looking. That's 'cause she's an elf, and elves live a really long time. Ms. Fern has seen the rise and fall of kingdoms, as well as lived through multiple world ending events.

She was telling me about the merging. Apparently a long time ago this world didn't exist, and then through the force of creation multiple worlds were attracted to each other and collided. Then they merged into one.

The early days were filled with a lot of fighting and gradually as time passed and people settled down the fighting lessened. Until something happened to make them fight again.

Ms. Fern said that fighting was a cycle, one that will continue on long after we're gone.

And I think that's kinda sad.
