Dear diary,

The thing's grown into a cocoon and ate up a lot of the moss. The biopsy didn't reveal much, Gina said it's mostly made out of protein and altered carbons. There's not much information that Bitsy's space mage friends could provide either. The cocoons definitely growing something, we just don't know what.

Bitsy also won't let me burn the thing down because we don't know how it reacts to fire. I'm not really sure if letting whatever's growing in that cocoon to hatch safely is a good idea. I haven't had any good ideas lately.
