1:23AM. In front of Le Nuit.
Bloom and the others were leaving the hotel, and was returning to their base. Zetsu, who held his brother over his shoulders, was the first one to speak.
“Sigh. This was one crazy night. I just want go home and jump right into bed.”
“I understand how you feel, but we need to report this to the boss first.”
Said Bloom.
“Ow, ow, ow, ow. Can't you be a little more gentle, Chrome?”
“Shut up. If it wasn't for you being injured, I wouldn't have to be so close to you.”
Chrome was helping Reiji walk, by having him lean on her shoulder.
“I think a good amount of my bones are broken….”
Said Reiji.
“That's because you received to most damage out of all of us.”
“You girls are lucky, he didn't even touch Bloom.”
“Haha, I guess he didn't want to damage my delicate skin.”
Bloom giggled as she spoke.
“….Back there, he said that he had an interests in us, Infecteds. And, that's why he won't kill us….Is he implying that he could've kill us if he wanted to?"
Chrome asked. It seems that Miko's words left a strong impression on her. Seeing that, Bloom smiled and said.
“I think he could.”
“Wait a minute there, Bloom. I admit that we got our ass kicked, but we weren't going all out, you know.”
Zetsu didn't like the fact that Bloom believed that Miko could've killed him.
“It's true that none of you went all out. If you did, the hotel would've been destroyed a long time ago. But, what makes you think that Miko fought with everything he got? Remember, he's the grandson of two Tyrants; and those Tyrants are Nero and Kimiko. There's a reason why they're called the strongest Tyrants.”
Bloom recalled that one time see saw the power of a Tyrant in person. There was only one way to describe it. “Absolute Terror.”
“You guys should also know, what kind of power Nero holds. A power which cover the world in darkness, and devours everything in sight; even light. With a power like that, even a lame title like Overlord of Death, sounds terrifying. Do you guys think that you could fight Miko, if he had used powers similar to Nero's? Not to mention his proxy abilities?”
“Bloom is right. Miko can be very terrifying from what I've witness him doing in his kingdom.”
At this moment Sapphire appeared and approached them.
“Oh, you're alive Sapphire?”
Said Bloom.
“Thanks to you decreasing the rate I was falling.”
When Miko threw Sapphire out the window, Bloom secretly used her powers on her to decrease the momentum of her fall. Because of that, Sapphire didn't receive a single broken bone from the fall.
“What are you going to do now?”
Chrome asked.
“Since D’arc is done for, Jin said I should return to Silver Crow.”
“Oh, that's great. If only the boss could come back instead of running from work, then Silver Crow will have its full strength again.”
Bloom said with a smile.
“So what's the boss’ verdict about Miko?”
“He said that he'll leave it to you Bloom. It's Jin’s typical behavior. But he did warn you to be careful because he might be too dangerous for you to handle. Like Kaido.”
“Dangerous or not, I want him.”
Bloom had a wicked smile on her face.
“Want him? Wait, you don't mean that you want him in Silver Crow, do you?”
Asked Chrome.
“Why not? He's powerful, smart and handsome. He would be a great asset for the boss to accomplish his dream.”
“But, Bloom…”
“And, with being said.”
Bloom quickly turned around and face her comrades, and said-
“I'm counting, you guys.”
She had a big smile on her face and hummed as she happily walked away.
Her comrades could sigh, when they saw her like that.
Same time. Monsieur room.
Blanche was sitting alone around a table. He had used the virtual reality function to temporarily fix the room. He had a few bags packed beside him, and was drinking alone, with a solemn expression.
“Oh, you're still alive.”
He heard a monotone voice, and turned his attention towards the door.
There he saw a teenage boy with black and white hair, looking at him with deadpan red eyes.
“Kaido…..!”
Blanche quickly stood up when he saw the teen.
“Where the hell have you been?!”
Blanche walked up and grabbed the teen by the shoulders.
“I almost died tonight! All the girls were easily defeated! If it weren't for Silver Crow, I would've been killed!”
Blanche shouted.
The boy casually removed Blanche's hands, and spoke.
“Sorry, I was doing some homework.”
This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
The teen said, expressionlessly. From the moment he entered the room, his face was always deadpan. Even when Blanche shouted at him, there was no change to his expression. Blanche was already used to his machine like behavior.
“What's the point of having a secret weapon, if he's doing homework when your life is being threaten?!”
“Again. My bad.”
The teen responded in monotone.
Blanche’s head started to ache just from talking with the boy.
“But, Monsieur. Who was it that took out everyone?”
“It was Gamiko Dragna the Third. King of the Dragna Kingdom.”
Blanche lifted his head off the ground, and looked the teen in the face.
“Hm? What's wrong,Kaido? For a second there, I could've sworn you looked surprised.”
“….No, it's nothing.”
The teen answered in monotone. Even though it was just for a second, the teen’s face changed expression; but, because that has never happened before, Blanche discarded it as his imagination.
“That would explain why Jade and the others said that you were done for when I saw them on my way here.”
“Yeah. Even I thought that it was over. I have to repay the ‘Gravity Queen’ one day.”
“I see. So, was he strong?”
“Let's just say, that he took on all of Silver Crow, and walked away with only a few cuts and bruises.”
“Is that so? As expected of a proxy.”
The teen’s words of praise didn't match his deadpan face.
“Yeah, he was strong. I never thought I'll see someone the same age as you, that strong. Well, other than you that is. Because of that kid I have to leave the city.”
“I see. So, I guess our contract ends here.”
Blanche frown when he heard the teen's response.
“You really don't have any loyalty, do you? I'm the one who sneaked you into this city, even though you're an escaped sample you know. Where's the gratitude? MYTH doesn't tolerate their experiments escaping on their own you know? They're immediately killed on site. I prevented that.”
“Our relationship was purely business, you said so yourself. Our contract was suppose to end when you became a big shot, but I stuck with you regardlessly. That's what I consider loyalty.”
The teen face remained expressionless. Blanche sighed when he saw that.
“I was just joking. I know you wouldn't come even if I asked….hm? Wait a moment, I'm getting a call.”
Blanche waved his fingers, and a small holographic window appear in front of him. He brought the window to his ear and spoke.
“Hello? Yeah, it's me. Hm? Really?! I got it, I'll meet you there.”
He waved his fingers, and the window disappeared.
Blanche looked at the teen with joyful expression.
“Well, I'll be going Kaido. Take care.”
He hurriedly walked past the teen, and was heading out the door.
“Blanche. From your tone, I take it that they accepted you. Into the ‘Twin Headed Dragon Syndicate’, that is.”
Blanche stopped and spoke without looking back.
“Hahaha! You really are a sharp kid, Kaido.”
“I guess Kei Hanazawa wasn't needed then?”
“Well, he was only just a back up. Now that I'm in the syndicate, I can take it down from the inside myself.”
“You're pretty reckless. Well, 30 years old is still young, but I'm sure it's a good age to die.”
The teen said in monotone.
“Hahaha! Thanks for the warning. I've gotta go. Until we meet again, kid!”
Blanche left the room laughing. The teen, Kaido, could still hear his laughter down the hall.
“…………….”
The teen looked around the room in silence.
He bowed to show his respect to the room he's been in so many times, and will probably never set foot back in.
He raised his head, and walked through the door. He was still deadpan as he waited for the elevator.
“….Gamiko Dragna the Third huh? So he is in the city.”
The elevator doors opened, and Kaido stepped in. He was alone, and was still deadpan.
“I wonder when he'll turn up at the academy? He is registered after all.”
Kaido looked at the clock in the elevator. It said 1:42AM.
“Better get some sleep. I have a feeling that tomorrow will be an interesting day.
If you look in the mirror inside the elevator, even though it was only for a second; Kaido was definitely smiling.
“See you at the academy, Miko.”
2:07 AM. Somewhere in District 11.
“………..Huh? ……Where am I?”
Kei Hanazawa had just regained consciousness, hours after Miko took him out.
He found himself looking at an unfamiliar ceiling.
“….argh!”
He tried to sit up, but the pain in his body was just too intense to move.
“Oh, you're awake.”
He heard a voice coming from his left, and turn his head to find the source. In a dark corner, he saw someone sitting on a chair like a cat while rocking from side to side. There was only one person he knew, who sat like that.
“…...Nana?”
“Yo, big bro.”
Speaking in a tomboyish manner, was the voice of a young girl.
“I've haven't seen ya in two months. I would ask if ya were in good health, but from the looks of ya I can already tell.”
The girl stood up on the chair, and leaped into the air. She landed beside Kei.
“Could you stop talking like that? I told you that it's not lady like.”
“Lady-like? Like I care about something trivial as that.”
“I can tell from your outfit.”
Nana was in a black and red track suit. She had short messy black hair, cat-like gold eyes, and a what appeared to be a fang, peeping out from her upper lips. She was about 153cm tall. “She would be really cute if she dressed more girly”, was the impression you'd get if you saw her
Nana stoop down, and looked her brother in the face.
“Hey, big bro.”
“What is it?”
“Pops wants to talk with ya.”
“!”
Hearing his father being mention, made Kei Hanazawa’s heart stop momentarily.
(…How stupid can I be?! I didn't even question, why Nana was in the 11th District. Of course, father wouldn't just allow his 15 year old daughter to venture out, without a good reason!)
“He said that I must contact him when you came to.”
“….I see. Then do as he ordered.”
Kei's face was pale, and his body was slightly trembling.
“If big bro say so…”
Nana took something from her pocket. It was a metal disc. She pressed the button in the middle, and threw it on the ground. The disc lighted up and a hologram was projected in the room. The hologram showed the back of an expensive chair, in what appears to be a office.
"I see that you're awake, boy.”
A deep voice came from behind chair. Kei knew that it belonged to his father, the Left Fang.
“….Yes, father.”
Kei's trembling got worse.
“….I heard what happened to you. Your sister found you lodged in a car’s roof.”
“….Yes…May I ask, why is Nana here?”
“I sent her because she wanted to see you. Do you have a problem with that?”
“Ah, no! By all means, she's welcome.”
Kei knew what his father said was a lie.
(…He probably sent Nana, because I haven't contact him in a while.)
“Boy.”
“Y-yes, Father.”
Kei flinched when he heard his father's voice.
“You disappoint me.”
“Huh? W-what do you mean father?”
“Don't play dumb with me, boy.”
His voice was filled with hostility, which made Kei's heart skip a beat.
“Jeane-Pierre Blanche has joined the syndicate.”
“Wha?! Blanche is still alive?!”
Kei couldn't help but to raise his voice.
“Yes. We also know that he wants to destroy us from the inside.”
“Then, why did you accept him?!”
“Boy.”
The voice got deeper, causing Kei to quickly close his mouth.
“Are you questioning the syndicate’s decision?”
“N-no. My apologies.”
“Good. Then, I'll be going. See you tomorrow.
“Yes, Father.”
Kei sighed in relief. He was eager to end the conversation with his father.
“Nana.”
The voice called out to Kei’s little sister.
“Yeah, Pops.”
She answered to the voice casually, opposite to Kei.
“Commence the punishment.”
Kei's body jumped when he heard what his father said.
“W-w-wait a minute, father! Punishment?! What for?!”
“Do you take me for a fool, boy?”
His father voice was full with hostility and anger.
“I know, what you've been doing the last few weeks. I also know that you promised to betray the syndicate, in exchange for your life. I know everything.”
Kei's entire body froze up. A million thoughts ran through his mind.
(Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Of course, he was monitoring me! That would also explain Nana’s presence! She has been following me from day one! She probably used her beast-like senses to gather information! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!)
Kei angrily looked at his little sister. She had a playful smile on her face. He knew quite well that she was going to enjoy carrying out her orders.
“Well, the syndicate had decided that your betrayal was only minor. So, your punishment will also be minor.”
His father spoke with a displeased tone. But, hearing that didn't put Kei's mind at ease. That's because-
“The normal punishment for betrayal is death. But, since your case is special….”
His father paused. Kei could hear him sigh.
“Nana.”
“Yeah, Pops.”
“Only half kill him.”
“!”
Kei knew that he wasn't going to get away scotch free. But, it frighten him to hear his father say that.
“As you wish, father.”
On the other hand, Nana responded in a formal tone for the first time. Her expression was opposite from a while ago. It was cold and merciless. Kei knew that he couldn't talk his way out of this, and because of his body being broken, he couldnt run either. And so, Kei Hanazawa made a decision.
“Sigh. Let's get this over with.”
He surrendered to his fate.
“……I see. Nana, since you're only suppose to half kill him…..”
Kei could hear his father tapping the chair handle.
“Take one of every two body part he has. One leg, one arm, one ear, one eyeball, and the list goes on.”
“Yes, Father.”
Nana answered coldly. Kei said nothing and just stared at the ceiling.
“I'll be awaiting your return tomorrow.”
Saying so, the transmission ended.
Nana stood up, and looked down at Kei.
“Shall we begin, Big Bro?”
“Yeah. Just remember, I am your brother.”
Hearing that, Nana showed a wicked smile, and said-
“Of course. You're my precious older brother.”
That night screams of pain echoed in a certain abandon building.
