Parasite Demons

Parasite Demons

Location Unknown.

A cloaked figure was walking through a dark forest, in the middle of night.

The physical features of this person was hard to recognize because of the darkness.

They continued to walk while the moonlight shone on their jet black cloak that reminded one of pure darkness.

After walking for a while, they came to halt.

They remained motionless and silent for a while as if they were frozen in place.

*Swoosh!*

It was then they picked up the sound of something cutting through the air.

Immediately after, they saw several figures appear in front of them.

They were all cloaked as well, but their figures were easier to make out.

They were couple of them who were tall and couple who were short.

Some looked bulky while others looked slender.

They literally came in all shapes and sizes.

The first cloaked figure slowly removed their cloak and revealed themselves.

It was of course Miko.

He stood in front of the hooded figures with a bold smile.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Gamiko Dragna the Third.”

He casually introduced himself.

“We know who you are. It’s our job to know our possible targets.”

The tone figures answered simultaneously.

“Wow, you’re all like one body and mind, like the rumors said.”

Said Miko.

“Well, anyway. I’m sure you know why I’m here.”

One of the cloaked figures took a note out of their pocket.

This note had Miko’s handwriting on it.

“We received this note from your servant over a year ago.”

The figures said in unison.

Miko nodded.

“That’s right. I sent my servant to contact you and preserve a reservation for your services in case I need it.”

An evil grin appeared on his face.

“I’m currently in need of you replacing some people.”

He released his claws and slashed them forward.

The cloaks covering the figures were cut into pieces.

The people behind the cloak appeared in full view.

They all looked like normal people, all except for the third eye in the center of their forehead.

“Please refrain from senseless actions.”

The group spoke together.

Seeing their expressions, Miko realized that they weren’t one mind or one person controlling multiple bodies.

They were just well trained.

He realized this after seeing different emotions in each of their eyes.

Some were afraid, some were indifferent, some were excited, etc.

They all had individual impressions.

“Sorry. I just wanted to see what a Parasite Demon looks like.”

Miko smiled.

“After all, I was accused of being one of you when I was younger.”

Back when Miko and Leon fought, Leon stated that Miko wasn’t a normal child and suspected him to be a Parasite Demon posing as his son to infiltrate the Dragna Clan.

The group shook their heads together.

“That’s impossible. We are identified by our inborn third eye. Since you have none then you are not one of us.”

“Hey, don’t take me seriously.”

Miko laughed.

The group didn’t laugh and looked at him.

He sighed.

“Anyway, I would like to hire you all. Since I’ve made reservations in advance, it shouldn’t be a problem right?”

Back when Miko was preparing for his battle against Dario for the throne, he researched all of the neighboring countries and decided to come up with a back up plan in case he couldn’t take some of them down, the way he wanted.

That plan was the use of Parasite Demons.

Miko wanted to use the demons to take control of influential figures in certain countries and turn them into his puppets.

He gave the actual instructions to a servant on the eve of his battle, while he was in the Primus library with Momo.

Since then, this plan has been in motion.

“Taking up this job isn’t a problem, but we would like to remind you. We Parasite demons aren’t fighters. We’re naturally weak and can be easily killed. So unless the employer prove to us that our safety is assured, we won’t move.”

Said the group.

Parasite demons had weak bodies and had zero talent in combat. Their only ability that separated them from normal humans was their third eye.

This third eye had the ability to transfer their soul into anyone that looks into it.

This allows them to take over that person’s body and become them.

However, this came with a risk.

Their real bodies would be defenseless while their soul was transferred.

If they loses their bodies, it was all over for them.

They would be stuck in the body they took over with no way to become their true selves again.

Another weakness they had was that they couldn’t invade everyone’s souls.

If someone possessed an unnaturally strong soul force, the Parasite demon would have a hard time transferring their soul.

It is even possibly that they’ll be rejected and get their souls destroyed as a result of the rebound.

Which meant that they couldn’t invade the soul of a Qigong user without risking death.

Qi came straight from the soul after all. Which means that the more you train in Qigong the stronger your soul becomes.

Which meant that they couldnt take over Miko’s body because of how strong his soul was.

This was the reason why Miko was so casual in front of them.

However, Parasite Demons had their strengths too.

Their biggest one was that every time they transferred their soul into someone and returned to their true bodies, they gain a fraction of their target’s strength.

Meaning that it was possible for a Parasite Demon to become strong after countless soul transfers.

But most die before they do.

After all, their abilities make them targets of elimination by those who fear their powers. So they were hunted on a regular basis.

Many of them were enslaved as well.

This was the reason why this group hid in a forest as dark and desolated as this. To avoid trouble.

Of course they needed money to eat, so they still had to risk their lives and take on dangerous work.

“Ensuring your safety is reasonable.”

Miko replied.

“Don’t worry. I’ll do my best to ensure that none of you get hurt during this mission.”

He stretched his hand out.

“I’m even willing to make a soul promise with all of you, of it makes you feel more secured.”

The group looked at each other and then nodded in unison.

“Let’s do that.”

They said.

“Wait, I want to propose something else with all of you.”

“What is it?”

They asked.

Miko smiled and said.

“Wouldn’t you all be willing to live in the Dragna Kingdom?”

“?!”

The group were all shocked by what Miko said.

“….Are you trying to obtain us for yourself?”

This time they didn’t speak in unison, and the eldest looking one stepped.

“Your name?”

Miko asked.

“I have none. Everyone just refer to me as chief.”

Said the middle age man.

“Well, Chief. What you said is true. I want to acquire you of all.”

The group stepped back when they heard that.

“There’s no need to be alarmed. I know what you’re all thinking, but don’t worry. I have no intention of enslaving any of you. I don’t want you all as tools or slaves.”

“Then what do you want us as?”

Asked the chief.

“I want you all as my citizens. And I don’t mistreat my citizens. Well, unless they do something against my rules.”

Miko replied.

“….We don’t trust you.”

Said the chief.

“Of course, because it’s a sketchy offer.”

Miko admittedly said.

“But it’s a true offer. I’m interested in your people. You have such an amazing ability but have to live in places like this. That makes me upset.”

He pointed at them.

“You all should be treated with respect, but no you’re treated as monsters, tools, animals. I find it sad really.”

“……….”

The chief looked at Miko with a sharp gaze. He was trying his best to to see through him, but no matter how hard he looked he couldn’t see through him.

“Why should we trust you?”

“Because I’m the best chance you got at freedom.”

He pointed at himself.

“You said it yourself didn’t you? You research all of your potential targets. Then you should know that my kingdom is on the rise. Pretty soon it will become a true powerhouse. And I’m the leader of this future powerhouse. My words are laws. If I say that no one can touch you then no one can.”

“……….”

Chief remained silent because he knew what Miko said was the truth. He ruled his country with an ironfist and no opposition.

He didn’t even hesitate to destroy one the families that supported the kingdom, because they went against him. That show how much power he wielded.

If he was to declare them untouchable, then they were untouchable.

However, the chief still had his doubts.

As a former slave, and someone who had been betrayed time and time again he found it hard to trust Miko’s words.

“I see that you’re still not convinced. No worries. This is an important decision for all of you, take your time to decide among yourselves.”

Miko said with a gentle but bewitching smile.

“……A question.”

Said the chief.

“Go ahead.”

“What would you do for our race if we agree to go with you?”

“Your race?”

Miko put on a pondering expression.

“To be honest, since I find your people fascinating I would welcome any amount of you with open arms. I would grant you all equal rights and opportunities as the rest of my citizens. Also as my citizens I would do everything in my power to make sure that you aren’t bullied.”

He then looked like he got an idea.

“Oh, I could grant you all your own domain to live.”

“Domain?”

Miko nodded.

“You all could live there and create your own paradise with your own culture.”

Members of the groups eyes started to sparkle when they heard that.

They knew that Miko had lots of free land, many that resided in different dimensions and worlds.

It wasn’t impossible for him to grant them their own paradise.

“You’re willing to shelter an entire race?”

The chief asked.

“Why not? Becoming the savior of an entire race sounds like a great title right?”

Miko replied.

“You’ll become the enemy of those who hunt us."

Miko shrugged.

“I have millions of enemies. What’s another million or so?”

He said nonchalantly.

The chief could see from his eyes and the way he talked that he was serious.

He didn’t mind housing an entire race even if it meant turning the world against him.

No, maybe that’s what he wants.

He wanted to challenge the world authority and show them that he alone reigns supreme.

It was the highest peak of arrogance. Even so, the chief didn’t dislike it.

Only a man as arrogant and selfish as this would give it his all to protect what he believes is his.

“I don’t know about the entire race, but if you take us out of this darkness and bring us to the a place under the sun, then we’re willing to become yours.”

The chief finally said after a while.

Miko smiled when he heard that.

The group kneel in front of him in unison.

“This is good. Don’t worry about the rest of your race. You just need to spread the word. The Dragna Kingdom and the Heavenly Demon King welcomes all Parasite Demons and promises to protect them as long as they come under my wing.”

“Yes, My King!”

The group responded in unison.

Miko nodded.

“Now then…..”

He smiled.

“Let’s go punish some arrogant royals.”
