The next day, Miko was sitting on Sasha's lap.
She was happy that he was getting close to her again, and couldn't stop smiling.
(You seem rather clingy today.)
‘Shut it. She risked her life for me yesterday, so it would be cruel to continue ignoring her.’
(I guess you have to change your plans of abandoning her.)
‘….You seem oddly satisfied. Could it be this woman is really your descendant?’
(That's right. Is something wrong with that?)
‘No. I should've known that you wouldn't let your Proxy be born in a random family. But, I'm surprised that you have descendants.’
(Why? I may be a dragon, but my human form is quite attractive you know? And besides, I was the mother of the first Babylonian Gods.)
‘No, I'm not talking about your insane children. I'm surprise that a human was brave enough to breed with crazy monster like you.’
Tiamat was considered the personification of chaos and destruction, as well as the mother of gods until she was slain by another god who later took her place as Chief God, and used her corpse to create the world.
So to Miko, sleeping with her was suicide for a human. The fact a human was stupid enough to do it, was amazing.
(Oh, you didn't know. Crazy women are the most attractive.)
But Tiamat spoke as if nothing was strange about it.
‘Wait a minute. Doesn't that mean that I'm your descendant too.’
(That's right. You can call me mama if you want.)
‘Granny would suit you better.’
Miko jumped down from Sasha's lap, and ignored her pouting and entered the yard.
“Yesterday, I thought of a way that can probably allow me to use magic.”
Miko started speaking out loud when he confirmed that he was alone.
“I'm going to test it out.”
He stretched his hand out and started to concentrate on his eyes.
It didn't take long before he could see small lights all around him.
“Okay, the first step is done. From here on out is the hard part.”
Miko focused on the lights. He concentrated all of his will on them.
“Gather.”
He then sent a command directly to them.
The lights listened to him and started gathering forming a bigger light.
“Good. Manipulation was successful. Then the final step.”
He ordered the lights to change their forms and recreate the image that was in his mind.
The lights listened and began morphing.
The shape changed, all the colors became one, and something was born in Miko’s hand.
“Success!”
A small blue flame was flickering in Miko's hand.
He had successfully used magic.
(Oh? That's impressive. To actually be able to use magic that easily. As I thought, you're really talented.)
Tiamat honestly praised Miko.
“I read a lot of fantasy books and comics with magic in it. I picked up a similarity between how they used magic. You just need to be able to manipulate mana and picture something, and you'll be able to create it.”
Miko spent a lot of his time in his past life reading, because of that he had thousands of information stored in his head.
Information that were both useful and worthless in everyday life.
And now information that was once useless, had helped him here in this fantasy world.
“It probably worked because I'm a Proxy though.”
(No. Being a Proxy doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be good at magic. This is your natural talent. Well, you are from my bloodline after all.)
Miko then remembered that the book he read stated that magical abilities were determined by one's bloodline.
“ It seems that descending from a god helps your chances of being talented.”
(It does but, it isn't absolute. If that was the case, then your mother would've been a magic genius. But she's only slightly above average; her talents lie elsewhere. My blood is just stronger in you that's all.)
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“Is that so?”
Miko tossed the flame up like a baseball and threw it into the air.
*Boom*
It exploded like a fire work. He smiled when he saw that.
“Interesting. I have a few ideas I want to test out.”
(Just don't burn down the house.)
Half a year later, Sasha had successfully delivered her twins. A boy and a girl.
The girl was named Tessa and the boy was named Kristen.
They were both beautiful, with the same hair and eye color as their mother.
In the end, Miko was the only one with azure hair.
‘Hey, did my mother have an affair or something?'
Miko casually asked Tiamat such a thing, while looking at his new siblings.
(No. Your father is the only man she's ever been with. You got your hair color from me, I suppose.)
‘Is that so?”
He quickly lost interest after hearing that.
He left the room and entered the backyard alone.
He opened his hand and a fireball instantly appeared.
In the last six months he's trained himself, so that he can instantly use magic without much concentration.
“Now that I have magic down. I should also train my body.”
Miko was still two years old, so the idea of him training his body sounded insane. But his aim was to make his body as flexible as possible. This was so that he could fight the way he did in his past life.
“As Logan Cross, I learned various martial arts from a young age. Do you know why?”
(For self-defense.)
“Correct. When I was in the 4th grade, there was a kid in my class who was the 5th graders' punching bag. Seeing his pathetic appearance inspired me to learn how fight as a precaution.”
Miko started to do some stretches.
“I ended up learning over 7 different martial arts by the time I was 16. I fused these martial arts together and created my own unique form of fighting when I was 17.”
He kicked the air as if testing his leg power.
“In my final year of high school, I was mugged. I let the guy go because we were in public. I then trailed him back to his hideout and tested my skills on him. The result was deadly.”
(Ah, you broke both of his legs, 4 of his ribs and cracked his skull.)
“Yup. Since then, I avoided fighting since it would be troublesome if I accidentally kill someone. But, I don’t need to worry about that now.”
(That's right. In this world, murder is very common. It's a world where you're praised for the amount of enemies you've killed, after all.)
“If I’m going to fight against god-tier people, I can't rely only on magic. I need a body that is basically a lethal weapon. Even then, it might still not be enough. So, I intend to use every method at my disposal.”
(How manly.)
Miko ignored her and started to throw practice punches. He intends to throw at least 500 punches a day.
“Now that I think about it, I haven't left this yard in my two years here.”
(Well, the city isn't an easy place to bring a child. Fights breaks out almost every 5 minutes and the king’s guards aren't that reliable.)
“I see. Leon works as a guard in the nights, so I can believe that.”
Leon started a second job as a guard, when Sasha announced her pregnancy. This was the reason why he wasn't home when burglars broke in.
The fact that he could easily join the guards made Miko believe that they weren't an organized unit.
“Well, I'll go there eventually. I do plan on taking the throne after all.”
(I can't wait to see that.)
“Oh? You think I can't do it?”
(No, I think you can. You're talented at magic, strong in hand to hand combat, and has already activated your [Divinity]. You'll definitely become a real monster in the future.)
“[Divinity]? I don't remember using something like that.”
Miko frowned when he heard an unfamiliar term.
(That's because you used it subconsciously. Do you remember when Sasha was being attack?)
“Of course.”
Miko's voice become cold, when he remembered that night.
(At that time the man was frightened by you and started to panic, remember.)
“Yeah.”
(That's because you're body was leaking a terrifying aura, which caused him to see your true nature.)
“And that was [Divinity]?”
(Yes. You even had fangs despite being so young. I was so proud.)
Tiamat sounded like a mother, who saw her child take its first steps.
“…..Fangs, huh. Hey, between a dragon and a human, which one am I more closer to?”
(Dragon, of course.)
“I see…..I think I've thought another weapon to add to my arsenal.”
A demonic smiled, that was unfitting of a child, was on Miko's face.
Another year passed by in a flash.
Miko, who was starting to gain full control of his body, was doing push ups in yard by himself.
He stopped after doing 5 and then did 5 sit ups.
He did a small amount because he didn't want to strain his undeveloped muscles too much. His aim for now was flexibility.
He stood up and wiped the sweat from his brow.
He then formed a fist, and took a deep breath.
He then opened his hand energetically, and a sound similar to metal rubbing on metal could be heard.
When Miko looked at his hand, the fingernails were long, pointed and metallic.
They were claws.
“After a year I can finally use these.”
(At first, you couldn't handle the pain of releasing your claws. Now, it's basically painless.)
When Miko first released his claws, it felt like his fingers were being split open from the inside. But he got used to it over time.
“These will come in handy in the future. Especially if you add these fangs.”
Miko opened his mouth, and showed off his sharp teeth.
(You should probably focus on your speed too. If you can move fast enough, you could slaughter a hundred men with your current body.)
Tiamat casually offered some dangerous advice.
“I was planning to, but I also plan to increase my strength……Is there something similar to Body Strengthening Magic in this world?”
Body Strengthening Magic is just as the name suggests. It's magic used to strengthen the users physical abilities. It's a common trait in fantasy novels and comics.
(Of course. Basically every type of magic you can think of is possible here. However, that type of magic is harder to learn because it requires you to train your body.)
“I see. Well, I'm already training it.”
Claws, Fangs, Magic, and Martial Arts.
Miko was slowly equipping himself with various weapons for battle. He was preparing for war.
He didn't knew the faces of those he was going to wage war against. But, that didn't matter.
To Miko the whole world was his enemy until proven otherwise.
“A world where the strong literally devours the weak.”
In his past life, he lived by avoiding people and ended up dying a dog’s death. But now it's different.
“I can't survive in this world, the same way I did in the last one. To ensure a satisfying and relaxing life, I must become strong. Strong enough to bend the world to my will.”
Miko refused to die the same way again.
He wants to survive.
He needs to survive.
Even if he has to throw away is humanity, he will survive.
“I've had enough of living in fear of what those sadistic bastards that call themselves ‘Gods’, have in store for me next. I finally have the chance to free myself from their puppet strings.”
He didn't care if he gets branded as evil or heartless.
He didn't care if the whole world hated him. As long as he and the ones he cares about are happy, the whole world could burn for all he cares.
(You bad mouth gods quite often, you know. Did you forget I'm also a goddess?)
Miko smiled.
“Oh, I didn't forget. Don't think I won't cut you down if I get the chance.”
(How cruel. Even after everything I did for you.)
Tiamat spoke with a sarcastic tone.
She didn't care if Miko really burns the world to ground, in fact she would like to see him try.
Miko knew that, but still smiled and said-
“I'm the scum of the earth, after all.”
