The Power Of A Continent

The Power Of A Continent

After leaving the for battle with the branch leaders and Nova, Miko left the base and was traveling towards the south where he heard the enemy was concentrating their troops.

“Looks like they aren’t letting their advantages get to their head.”

Miko said as he flew with his dragon wings.

“It’s smarter to abandon the west and concentrate your forces near your base, than spreading them out to control two different regions at once.”

Alexus said.

“Well, the west is already in disarray. Taking back control of it would require a lot of resources, and there’s a high chance that we would attack it while they’re trying to restore order. So abandoning it and deciding everything with one battle is a smart move.”

Said Andreas.

“I wasn’t planning on attacking the west though. I think killing off a quarter of continent’s population is enough. If we act the west and the south, we’ll have no one to rule over when the war is over. It's a good thing I ordered the guardians to forcibly take the residents of the west if this happens."

Miko said.

“By the way, will we be okay?”

Nero asked.

“I mean, I’m somewhat of a narcissistic person…”

“Somewhat?”

Rouge asked.

“Shut it, Crossdresser.”

“You bastard! I told you to stop spreading false rumors about me!”

Rouge got mad but Nero ignored him.

“Anyway, even I have to admit that I don’t think we alone can hold off an entire army of warriors from the era of the gods. Not to mention that, we have to face Typhon too.”

“Don’t worry. I naturally thought about this.”

Miko replied.

“To be honest, I knew that this war would go bad for us a long time ago, from when Mayumi told me that she prophesied her dying saving me from a devil. I wondered who that devil was, but just couldn’t figure it out. Only realized after finding out that there was a third party in this war.”

“So the devil that she spoke of was Julio Zebul, huh?”

Said Echo.

Miko nodded.

“After I found out that, I thought to myself, just how would Mayumi saved me from Julio Zebul? After asking myself that question I started to predict my possible actions if this war went wrong for us. I easily figured out what my most likely action would be.”

“Charge in with all of our strength in an attempt to crush the enemy.”

Andreas said.

Miko nodded.

“Mayumi’s prophesy opened my eyes. It was my main reason for only bringing an elite team instead of relying on numbers.”

“I see. That makes sense.”

Said Nova.

“But Miko, if I’m not mistaken that Mayumi girl is gone. Doesn’t that make it easier for Julio to take your life? Or did you take that into consideration and make extra preparations?”

“Bingo.”

Miko said.

“I switch up my style and went with quality over quantity.”

The moment Miko said that, everyone else could sense a group approaching them. They stopped and looked back, only to be surprised.

“After receiving the prophecy I decided to ask for additional help just in case this happened.”

Miko said as the group arrived in front of him. The one in the middle stepped out and bowed.

“The Flameheart Clan has to come to fulfill our 10,000 year promise with the Dragna Clan.”

The one who said that was the only living progenitor of the Flameheart Clan, Joesph Flameheart. Behind him were the current clan leader and Luka’s grandfather, Darwin, and the First Elder, Joesph’s daughter, and Luka’s grand aunt Maria.

These three held all the power in the Flameheart clan and was its core. For them to declare their intention to fight along side the Dragna Clan meant they were willing to sacrifice their clan.

“Yo, Joey. I've been waiting.”

Miko said with a light tone.

“My apologizes, it took sometime to silence the elders who were opposing that I join you.”

Joesph replied.

“Well, it’s understandable. You’re their last living progenitor after all.”

Miko said.

“True, but before my Clan my allegiance belongs to master.”

Miko laughed.

“Well, that’s good to know. But I hope you’ve haven’t gotten rusty over the years?”

“Of course not. I’ve been waiting for this all my life, for the moment where I get to fight along side you.”

Everyone watched the interaction between Miko and Joesph with a bit of surprise. It’s the first they’ve heard Joesph talk so casually. He spoke with Miko on equal terms. No, it was obvious that he spoke with worship.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Miko looked past him and looked at Darwin.

“I’ve already placed your granddaughter in a safe place. So there’s no need to worry.”

“I appreciate it.”

“Yo, Maria.”

Nova approached Maria with a smile.

“Nova, it’s been awhile.”

The two had a weird air around them when they looked at each other.

Miko ignored this and looked towards the south.

“Since everyone’s here, let’s go!”

The further south they went, the more they felt a sinister feeling surround them. It wasn’t before long before they came in contact with miasma.

“It looks like all these monsters coming together have turned this half of the continent into hell itself.”

Joesph said.

They travelled a bit further and noticed that the earth had turned black, and the air was contaminated. Even Nature was experiencing strange changes. They soon reached the point where they couldn’t advance any further.

“So their army reaches this far, huh?”

Miko said.

“We haven’t even entered the Southern Region yet. That’s impressive.”

Said Darwin.

In front of them was an ocean of enemies all armed and ready to go. The amount that blocked their path seemed infinite.

“Alright.”

Nero slammed his fists together.

“There’s 10 of us. If everyone kills at least a million, I’m sure we’ll make it out alive…..Probably.”

He said with an excited expression.

“I see. Then allow me a head start.”

Miko said before descending towards the ground. When his feet touched the earth, he drew the attention of every being around him.

They all stared at him with excited expression, some even looked hungry. It didn’t take that long before Miko was completely surrounded.

“Ha….Hahaha….”

To the Beings confusion, Miko started laughing.

“Hahahahahaha!”

His original low laugh became loud and deafening.

“I’m happy…”

A rainbow colored light started engulfing his body. Everyone watched as transparent wings appeared on his back.

He showed the monsters a big smile.

“I finally get to break loose!”

*BOOM!*

He stomped the ground and a rainbow color light spread across the land. It wasn’t just the Southern Region, the light spread across the entire continent in a flash as if scanning it.

Immediately after the entire continent started to shake.

Back at the Imperial Treasury, the plain monument in the back began to glow. Suddenly ancient letters started running across it, at a hard to follow rate. That’s when the being that was known as the Will emerged from it.

“So you’re using it, boy? The power of this continent.”

It said.

Back in the Primus World, everyone was watching the battle from a projection created by Raven. Every single citizen and soldier from the Dragna Clan looked on as Miko’s figure brighten turned into something celestial.

Miko smiled and thrust his middle finger upwards.

*BOOM!*

A gigantic spike burst out of the ground and ripped through countless monsters who were stacked together.

“Attack!”

The monsters screamed and rushed towards Miko like a tidal wave. Miko spread his arms as if welcoming them.

“Fodders, know your place.”

*BOOM!*

Countless spikes erected from the ground and impaled everything for dozens of miles.

He stomped the ground again and it was as if the earth had became alive. Mountain sized waves formed in the earth, and threw countless monsters into the air. Countless giant hands, made from earth, then squished them like they were bugs, some even pulled them apart like toys.

In an instant, thousands of monsters were killed in the same manner as insects.

“Let’s get this party started.”

Miko made a gun gesture with his fingers. A white light started gathered at the tip of his fingers. His finger was fired like a real gun and the light shot towards the mountains of the distant southern Region.

*BOOOOM!*

The light completely obliterated the mountains range which protected the southern Region for years. It even destroyed the country nearest to it.

“Knock Knock, motherfucker.”

Miko said with a grin.

“Whew. So that’s the power he received in the treasure vault?”

Said Nero.

“I-Incredible.”

Darwin and Maria were shaken by Miko’s display of power. It wasn’t the amount of damage he did, it was how casual he did it. It showed that that wasn’t even a fraction of his current power.

“I see. So that’s the power of the Will.”

Joesph said.

“You know what that power is Old Man?”

Andreas asked.

“I heard about it from Divine General Edwin Magnus one night when we were drinking together.”

Joesph recalled the convo countless years ago.

It was a night in the royal palace. Augustus and the rest of his divine generals had all left to complete a mission. Edwin wasn’t allowed to take part because he caused a war just a few days earlier over a woman, and the worst part was that the woman wasn’t even his.

Anyway, with nothing to do he dragged their disciple, Joesph to have a few drinks and got drunk.

“Hey, Joey. Have you’ve ever wondered why we picked this area to create our base?”

The drunken Edwin asked.

“Isn’t it because, Master Augustus is from here?”

Joesph replied.

“Hahaha! That’s just a lie we came up with. Augustus was actually born on the Beast Continent. None of us came from this place.”

Edwin spoke as if he felt proud that everyone believed their lie.

“We chose this place because it’s special. I mean, think about it. What does the Northern Region of this continent have to offer us? All the magic stones are in the western Region, all the gold is in the east, and the south has the most fertile lands.”

“Now that you put it like that, why did we pick this continent much less the north?”

Joesph got curious after hearing what Edwin said.

“I’ll tell you.”

Edwin wrapped his arms around Joesph’s shoulders and spoke quietly.

“It’s because the Will is here.”

“The Will?”

Edwin nodded.

“A very long time ago when this world was just created, there were seven children who were favored by the Supreme being for their purity. He loved these children so much that he decided to make them eternal. He placed their souls into seven monuments and placed them in seven different locations. From these monuments land formed as pure as the children themselves. These lands became the seven continents of this world, while these children were known as the Will of the continents.”

“So the Will that you’re taking about is one of these monuments?”

Edwin nodded.

“These monuments got lost in the river of time and disappeared from everyone’s mind, but check this. Rias told Augustus where to find one of these monuments as a gift for his 100th birth day.”

“And that place is here?”

Edwin nodded.

“Augustus was able to make a contract with the Will. This allows him to use its power in an emergency.”

Edwin started laughing.

“Do you get it, Joey? With the Will on our side this entire continent is our fortress! Augustus can freely manipulate the continent itself like it was a part of him. Not only that, he can draw endless power from the continent itself as long as it isn’t destroyed! Doesn’t that make us invincible?!”

“….I’m surprised that he told you such important information so easily.”

Rouge said after hearing Joesph’s story.

“Well, Master Edwin wasn't one to keep his mouth, or rather he got a kick out of exposing the secrets of others.”

Everyone immediately knew why Edwin was described as the worst kind of person even in the clan’s archives.

“But still, that means that Miko has an endless power supply. Then couldn’t he handle this with that power.”

Joesph shook his head.

“Miko draws power from the continent, but don’t forget that there are beings who can destroy the world much less the continent. Typhon is one of them. His battle with Zeus and others during the war prove this countless times already.”

He said.

“That and there is no one who can handle using all of the will’s power. It’s too much for a mortal body to bear. Hence the longer you use it, the closer you are to death.”

Joesph looked at Miko.

“Hahahahaha! Knock! Knock! Come on, you bastards! Answer the fucking door!”

He laughed and raged while continuously firing beams of light destroying country after country in the Southern Region.

Joesph could see blood leaking from his ears and nose, before disappearing. His body was obviously being destroyed, but he was constantly repairing it with his Proxy abilities. If this continues Miko will surely burn out and die.

“Even though Miko has unlimited power it comes at the cost of his life huh?”

Nero stepped forward and smiled.

“That only means that we need to work to keep him from killing himself in the heat of battle.”

The others also looked towards the direction Miko was shooting at, they could sense that the main force of the hellish army was quickly approaching.

“Let’s go!”

Everyone charged towards the south.

“Time to surpass the old era and save our king!”

The final battle of the intercontinental war has begun!
