Casino City

On the Golden Continent, there’s a place were you could party, drink, gamble, and live a life of debauchery without anyone batting an eye. This was a place where the rich come to play, and corruption is a part of everyday life.

This was Casino City.

Casino City, as its name suggest, is a gambling haven where anything can be bet on, with everything being allowed to be wagered; even one’s life.

Even though it had millions of visitors everyday, the number of people who were residents were less than 100,000. Majority of these residents were employees of the city as well. Meaning that, only a few could really live in this city and do nothing but live a life of depravity.

Today, such a person had come to take up residence in the city. This person had tanned skin, black hair, green eyes, and had a white mask on the side of his face. This person was Miko, who had taken his form as Logan Cross to travel the world.

He was taken to an apartment on the top floor of a luxurious complex.

“Mr. Malus, I’m sure you and your family will enjoy this place and appreciate it as your home.”

The complex manager spoke to Miko with a business tone. He opened the door and gestured Miko to have a look inside.

Miko walked in and took a look at the spacious room. It was beautifully decorated in purple and gold, was fully furnished with the finest furniture and the latest appliances, and had a great view of the city.

Miko nodded.

“I’ll take it.”

The manager rubbed his hands excitedly.

“I see, that’s great to hear.”

He then turned around to leave.

“Since you’ve already paid for everything, I’ll take my leave. If you need anything, please feel free to come and find me.”

“I will.”

The manager nodded and left, leaving Miko and the girls behind.

“As expected of a city where the rich come to burn money, the scenery is quite pleasing to the eyes.”

Miko walked up to the window and said.

“How about it? You guys wanna stay here for a bit, and have a little fun?”

He looked at the girls and said.

“I saw a lot of cake shops on the way here, I wanna go eat some!”

Ishma quickly said.

“Me too!”

Ravel agreed as well.

“We can do that later. Right now I’m interested in seeing the city.”

Miko smiled.

“Let’s go on a tour.”

After deciding to go out, Miko and the girls changed into a more fancy clothing.

Miko wore a white three piece suit with black shoes, a pair of black gloves, a black tie, and a black and white hat.

Tia was dressed in an azure slit dress with gold linings, which showed off her sexy legs, and a pair of golden heels.

Ravel wore a dark knee length one pieces with laced up stilettos, and a handbag to match.

Regis also wore a one piece dress, but hers was light colored, and she wore flats instead of heels.

Ishma on the other hand, wore a suit similar to Miko’s and had her hair swept back which made her look like a handsome little boy.

“My, what a beautiful party.”

When they reached the lobby, they drew the attention of countless people with their breathtaking appearances. When they stepped outside, a limousine pulled up at their feet, and the driver came out and opened the door for them.

They all went in one after the other, and driver locked the door and drove off.

The inside of the limo was really space as if it was a room. There was a bar with all kinds of expensive liquor, a snack bar as well, and several monitors. Even the windows could be used like a computer.

Miko opened a bottle of champagne and pour it out for Tia in a glass.

“My lady.”

He gave her the glass which she took with a smile.

“Thank you.”

She then drank the champagne, which caused her face to lit up.

“By the way, Ishma. I was meaning to ask you this.”

Miko called out to Ishma who was stuffing her face.

“Hm?”

She turned around with a chocolate bar in her mouth.

“You know that I’m technically Augustus right? But weren’t you afraid of him?”

“I wasn’t really afraid of Augustus.”

Ishma answered.

“Yes, you were. You would always try to avoid him and barely spoke to him without stuttering.”

Tia said with a light chuckle.

“A-Anyway. I kind of had a idea that you were him. I mean, when we first met I saw him inside your soul.”

“Oh? So you aren’t stupid?”

Regis place her hand on her mouth as if in shock.

Ishma glared at her but decided to ignore her.

“Besides, you are you and Augustus is Augustus. Even if I’m bad with him that doesn’t mean that I can’t get along with you.”

She said.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

“Besides, we’re partners until the day you free me from this sword. I have to get along with you.”

“I see.”

Miko smiled, as if her answer pleased him.

“By the way, Miko. I also saw Beleth inside your soul which means that you’re something like his successor, but your demonification hasn’t advanced in a while. Why? Shouldn’t you be a full-fledged demon already?”

She said.

“I don’t know the details myself. Since I upgraded Sin King against my little brother, I haven’t advanced any further. I believe it has to do with Deus Malum though. It’s probably absorbing all the negative energy needed to further my demonification.”

Miko took a sip of the champagne and said.

“I’ll just have to wait and see.”

He then looked at Ravel who was also eating.

“What about you Ravel? You know that I’m technically your grandfather, right?”

Ravel turned around with so many snacks in her mouth that it looked ridiculous.

“Ravel, a lady shouldn’t eat that vulgarly. You don’t need to follow the stupid crow, she’s a bad influence on you.”

Tia scolded her.

“I’m sorry, Grandma.”

Ravel said after shallowing what was in her mouth.

“And I already knew that you were Grandpa for a long time now.”

Miko was surprised to her that.

“How?”

“Just kinda knew. I mean, you treat me the same way that Grandpa would, when he came to visit me. Also your aura looks the same, so I thought that you two must be the same.”

She said.

“Could this be because of her Celestial Body? We never really studied it since it was dangerous.”

Miko mumbled to himself.

“Is that’s why you wanted to come with me and leave your brothers behind?”

Miko asked.

She nodded.

“While it’s great that I have my brothers here with me, I miss my parents. You and grandma are the closest thing I have to parents, so I wanted to be with you guys.”

She said.

Miko felt weird when he heard that. He couldn’t tell if what he felt was happiness or something completely different.

Even so, he showed her a smile.

“If that’s the case, I’ll have to teach you to act more mature.”

He said.

“While I know that you’re still not even a teen mentally, if you want to stay around me you need to act more like an adult. However, don’t push yourself. You just need to take it one step at a time.”

He took out a cloth and wiped her mouth.

“First, start by watching how you eat.”

Ravel looked at him for a bit and nodded.

“Good.”

Miko then sat back and waited for the limo to bring them to their destination. While he was waiting, he’s mind started to drift.

He began recalling those he left behind and the memories he shared with them. As he did so, the look on his face became one of tranquility.

“Hm?”

That’s when he felt like he was being watched, and opened his eyes. He noticed that the girls didn’t show any reaction and decided to let it be.

‘I’m someone who just moved in and bought my residence with cash. In this place, the price of living here isn’t cheap. So I must be drawing the attention of those who run this city.’

He calmly deduced.

‘The question is how will they react? Will they continue to keep an eye or will they take the initiative and make contact?”

He grinned.

“This suddenly feels exciting. Will this be a repeat of Grim City or will this take a different approach where I’m able to enjoy myself without anyone trying to control me or getting in my way?”

He said.

“Miko, I understand your excitement but be careful.”

Tia said to him while continuing to drink the champagne.

“I know I know. In my current state, I’m just your everyday badass. Not that heavenly badass I was in the war.”

He laughed and said.

“But you know, Tia. I just can’t help it. I’m a natural born troublemaker.”

Tia laughed when she heard that.

“Well, that’s true.

She said.

“But still at least try to behave yourself.”

She poured him some champagne in his glass.

“We just payed for our new home. It would be a shame for it to get blown up before we even get to sleep in the same bed together.”

She said.

Miko laughed when he heard that.

“That’s true. It would indeed be a shame.”

He swirl the champagne in his glass.

“But I gotta admit, I am curious to know just what kind of person runs this city.”

He put the glass at his lips and drank it.

“Well, I think we’ll know pretty soon.”

Not too far away from Miko’s limo, a shadow figure was standing on the roof of one of the buildings while keeping track of the car. They took out a phone and made a call.

“Boss, I have visuals on Malus Domine and his group.”

Even their voice was hidden.

“I see, keep an eye on him and report back to me if he does anything that goes against our laws or threaten the city. Otherwise, leave him be.”

A male voice came from the phone.

“Roger.”

The shadow hung up the phone and preceded to follow Miko’s limo.

Elsewhere in the city.

Someone was leaning on a parked bike, while operating a phone. On the screen, a footage of a group of cars driving down a street at a fast speed was shown.

This person, who was watching the video, was wearing a full body biker suit and a helmet. The biker suit was mix of orange and blue, and had a grinning skull on the back. Even his helmet looked like a grinning black skull.

“Looks like they’re about to leave the city.”

A voice came from behind the helmet.

“Let’s see about that.”

He put away the phone and got on the bike, and kick the stand back up. He then started the bike and rode off.

The bike he rode was really fast. It reached 100 km/h in a mere second. Even so, the man handled the bike like a pro. He cut through the traffic while going 300 km/h without colliding in anyone or anything.

If the road was blocked, he would take the sidewalk and sometime the alleys. There was no hesitation in his movements as if he knew the entire city structure like the back of his hand.

It didn’t take long for him to reach the road with the cars, he was watching, were on. He pulled out a white handgun and fired at the wheels of the one in the back.

The tires burst, which caused the car to go out of control. The rate he was going, he was going to crash in the car. However he put away the gun and took out a sword. He slashed it in front of him, and the car was cut in two.

He rode past the two halves of the car and chased after the other cars that were trying to escape.

“Heh.”

He pulled back the bike handles and performed a wheelie. The bike then suddenly became faster and came between the space of two of the cars that were side by side.

When the drivers saw the bike that was performing a wheelie beside them, they were shocked. That was because they were now looking into the nozzles of two guns. The man on the bike leaned back while pointing the guns at their heads, while still performing the wheelie.

Bullets of light flew through their heads. Not only them, but the light traveled like it had a mind of its own and bored through the foreheads of everyone inside, causing their brains to melt.

The cars immediately crashed with no one to control, and caught fire.

The biker stopped performing the wheelie, and brought the front wheel back to the ground. There was only one car left. Seeing that, the biker stood up and started surfing while the bike continued forward.

He then leaped off the bike and landed on the top of the car.

“B-Boss Mozart!”

The men in the car were frightened shitless when the man called Mozart landed on their car, and casually peeled off the roof to peek inside.

“Is this how you guys repay me? I took you all in when you were high in debt from gambling and gave you jobs, but what you do? You tried to steal the city’s banking information.”

Mozart sighed.

“Talk about ungrateful.”

He thrust his hand down and pulled out one of the men in the car and threw him away like he was garbage. He then jumped down into the car and sat where the man was.

He sat between two men and wrapped his arms around their shoulders.

“Hey, tell me. Just what were you thinking?”

He asked with a confused tone.

“You guys should know that I’m strong enough to Level this city, much less take care of you. I only rode my bike just to look badass.”

He said.

“Y-You were supposed to be out of town!”

The driver shouted. He was so scared that he forgot to stop driving, since driving was useless now that this man was here.

“Oh, you fell for that fake news I sent out. You see, I occasionally send out fake news about myself to test my employees and guests. I want to see how would they react thinking that I wasn’t here.”

Mozart’s grip around the men’s shoulder tight.

“Even after I’ve done it so many times, to think people still fall for it.”

He started laughing.

“Anyway, tonight I have a very strange guest so I have my hands full. He calls himself Malus Domine (Evil Lord). Don’t you think that’s funny?”

He asked with a laugh. The man started to laugh nervously as well.

And then-

*Crush!*

He hugged the men shoulders so strongly that they were literally broken in two

“Blegh?!”

Blood leaked from their mouth like hoses and their eyes popped out of their heads. They suddenly died with painful expressions on their faces.

“Ahhhhhhh!”

When the driver and the man in the man in passenger seat saw that, they screamed out in horror.

The driver immediately jumped out of the moving car, leaving his comrade behind. His comrade who was slow tried to do the same, but Mozart thrust his arm through the back of the seat and ripped out his heart before he could.

The car then crashed with him in it. The driver, who jumped out, forced himself to his feet and started to run unsteadily down the road.

*Boom!*

He heard a loud sound and saw that the car had exploded. However, that only made him run faster. He knew that Mozart wasn’t someone who could be stop by a mere car explosion.

“Yo.”

At that moment, Mozart appeared in front of him. Before the man could scream, his head was sent flying by Mozart swinging his hand. His headless body fell to the ground.

Blood splashed on Mozart’s helmet but he didn’t seem to care and took out back his phone and spoke into it.

“Alright, report to me what you’ve learnt about this Malus Domine.”
