When Miko left his room, he hurriedly walked down the halls.
He had chosen to not focus on what he saw in that daydream earlier, and focus on what was in front of him.
He walked until he reached outside of the palace.
That’s when he saw Chika and Verde waiting on him.
“Sorry for the wait.”
He said with a smile.
“We don’t mind. Let’s go.”
Miko nodded and then the three of them started to walk in the royal yard.
“Where is this competition going to be held?”
Chika asked.
“The Quartus World. It’s located on the Quartus branch’s base.”
Miko said as he pointed at the pink star that was hovering over the kingdom.
“The Quartus World huh? We’ve haven’t been there in a long time. Well, even longer to everyone except us.”
Chika said with a laugh.
“Now that I think about, we haven’t really talked before this.”
Miko said.
“I wonder if we can work together?”
“It should be fine. We were trained to adapt to any situation.”
“By Falcon?”
Miko asked.
“No. By Grandfather.”
“You mean, Augustus’ eldest son Claudius? Was he strong?”
“Of course. Grandfather was super strong.”
Chika spread her arms to emphasize what she was saying.
“He was a demigod born with immense power. However, he was lacking in comparison to his parents and was seen as a disappointment, I guess.”
“Even though he was born with immense power?”
“The expectations people had of him were too unreasonably high. Because of that, anything he did wasn’t surprising in the least. ‘He’s that Augustus and Tiamat’s son, of course he could do that’, that was what people would say every time he accomplished something.”
“…..Must’ve been frustrating.”
Said Miko.
Being born to two powerful beings isn’t always a good.
You’ll suffer a fate of constantly being compared to them.
No matter what you do, people will see them but not you.
“Yeah. I guess so.”
Chika answered.
“Anyway, is it alright for our competition to be held in enemy territory and not on neutral grounds?”
She asked.
“It’s not enemy grounds. All five worlds belongs to every member of the clan. Some branches might be overlooking them, but none of them really own them.”
Miko replied.
“Is that so? Then I guess it’s alright. Besides, Lahmu won’t let anything happen to you right?”
“You’re not worried about yourself?”
Chika laughed.
“We might be the same age, but we lived in completely different eras and experienced different things. Of course our power is on a different level.”
“Basically, you’re saying that none of them can defeat you?”
She nodded.
“It’s seems like arrogance is a blood trait in this clan.”
Miko said with a laugh.
The three of them continued their walk until they ran into some unexpected company.
“Mother.”
They ran into Sasha who was accompanied by Momo and Aeon.
“Where you three looking for me?”
Miko asked as he approached them.
Sasha nodded.
“We heard about the competition between you and some kids from the other branches, and decided to watch.”
She said.
“You heard? From who?”
“From Alec.”
Momo answered.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Going back a few hours earlier, when the second meet big of generations was still ongoing.
“The clan will fall in Miko’s hands? I thought he stated that he wasn’t interested in the clan’s affairs?”
Asked Sylphy.
Alec nodded.
“He did, but there are times when a capable leader needs to take the helm of something, even if it’s against their will.”
“You’re saying that Miko is more capable than our branch leaders?”
Al-Shura asked with an angry tone.
“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”
Even so, Alec still answered with a smile.
“Don’t believe me? Then why don’t we all take a look for ourselves?”
He smirked.
“Later today there will be a meeting among all of our protégés and Miko. According to my intel, this meeting is to determine who is the top dog among all of them.”
He spread his arms.
“If this meeting goes as I predict it, we will see a competition among them. As such, I suggest this. Why don’t we all go and see what they’re made out of? I mean they’re our juniors after all, I’m sure they would love for us to cheer for them. We can also use this opportunity to see for ourselves just want kind of person the king is.”
He explained.
“Oh? If such an event is going to happen then I must watch it.”
Said Kouta.
“I agree. This is a chance for you all to witness how great our Krul is.”
Said Sophia.
“Hmm….a clash with the other branches might be what Miko needs to take the next step.”
Momo mumbled to herself.
“Ashur will be sure to enjoy that. Fine. We’ll go along with you.”
Al-Shura agreed as well.
Alec smiled when everyone agreed.
“Alright, its settle then.”
Present time.
“Miko I’ve bet 10,000 gold coins on your victory!”
Momo grabbed his shoulders and shouted.
“You better win, or I will be bankrupt! If that happens then I’ll have sell a photo to Gramps and Uncle for money! There’s no tell what kind of picture they will ask for!”
She brought her face so close to his that their foreheads were touching.
However, there was nothing romantic about the desperation in Momo’s eyes.
“You better win, you hear me?! Even if you have to cheat, win!”
“O-okay.”
Miko answered.
“Good.”
She then back away from Miko.
“Oh, I forgot to mention this. You’re forbidden from using Qigong in this competition.”
“What? Why?”
“Because you’ve become too reliant on it as of late, which plays a major role in why your foundation has crumbled.”
She pointed at him.
“This is a master’s order. Win with just magic alone, got that?!”
“That will be tough. My Qigong is my strongest source of strength. Without it I will be under heavy restrictions.”
“Even so, you must win without it. If you encounter a wall, then push pass your limits and climb over it. Can you do that?”
Miko didn’t answer immediately when he remembered just what kind of people he would be facing.
Even he wasn’t sure of his chances, without Qigong.
After a while he sighed.
“I guess I’ll have to do that whether I want to or not.”
He said.
“That’s the spirit. Oh, just so you know if you lose I’ll make you regret it.”
She said with a creepy smile.
“……I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Miko.”
Sasha approached Miko.
“Be careful.”
Miko nodded.
“I will.”
He then looked at Aeon.
“I haven’t seen my father and brother recently. Do you know anything about that?”
Aeon shrugged.
“Who knows? Maybe they’re doing some father and son bonding.”
“…..I see.”
He then turned his attention back to Chika and Verde.
“Let’s go.”
They nodded and proceeded to the gates of the royal palace.
That’s when a light shot down from the pink star and covered them.
A second later they all disappeared from the gates.
When Miko’s vision cleared he saw a beautiful land filled with light.
He saw beautiful creatures flying in the sky.
He saw beautiful fishes swimming in the shining rivers.
He saw luminous plants growing everywhere.
It was like he was transported to a land of light.
“Oh?”
He took a closer look a realized that the world matched hat of mythical Japan.
‘Primus World is similar to mythical China, the secundus world is like mythical Rome, and the Quartus world is mythical Japan huh?’
He thought to himself.
“Oh, Miko! Over here.”
He looked to his front and saw Alec waving at him.
Behind him were the rest of the second generation and third generation.
Miko and the others walked over to the hill they were on.
“You’re finally here. Now we can begin.”
Alec said when Miko approached them.
“Why are you leading this?”
Miko asked.
“Because we were asked to prepare the stage for you guys.”
He replied while indicating to Gizmo and Kirika as well.
“We are all expert programmers, hackers, inventors, and designers. As such we’re the best candidates to create this.”
He snapped his fingers and the ground started to shake immediately after.
The ground opened up and something huge was seen emerging.
It was an azure and gold stadium with the Dragna symbol on it.
“We call it the Dragon's Nest. It’s a fully state of art stadium with the world’s latest technology engraved into every inch of it. It is also sturdy enough to withstand a battle between X Classes. So you all should be able to cut lose as much as you want.”
They all entered the stadium and was impressed by the interior.
The field in the center was quite huge.
It was probably half the size of the country sized coliseum that was the stage for the Throne Wars.
“We created an environmental feature that allows us to change the field to take any shape we want.”
Kirika said as she took out a remote.
She pressed a button and the field turned into a forest.
She pressed it again and it changed into a mountainous land.
She pressed it again and it changed into a sea.
“Amazing. Technology sure is different than back then.”
Chika said as her eyes sparkled while looking at every feature of the stadium.
“We intend to randomly change the battlefield’s shape every five minutes during your competition. This is to test how well you all can react and adapt.”
Gizmo explained.
“I see. Thank you again, members of the Tertitus Branch.”
Krul said with a gentleman’s bow.
“Now then, let’s announce the rules that we’ve all chosen together.”
Krul snapped his fingers and a holographic window appeared next to him.
It showed a list of rules for their competition.
“First of all, no killing is allowed. This competition will be different from a straight up brawl. It will be a game to test us in all kind of ways.”
He took out an emblem.
“The aim of this game is to collect as much points as possible before the timer, which is set for 6 hours, hits zero. Each person will carry an emblem of their individual branch with them at all times. We gain points by taking these emblems from our enemies. Each emblem is worth 10 points, however the representative of each branch will carry an extra emblem called the King’s emblem. This emblem is worth 100 points. Meaning that if a branch is able to collect each King’s Emblem they’ll automatically gain 500 points.”
He squeezed the emblem with all of his strength but it didn’t bend in the slightest.
“As you can see, these are hard. They’re made from reinforced magic stone, which makes them very durable. If you’re able to destroy your teams emblem then you’ll receive an extra 50 point.”
10 soldiers then appeared behind him out of nowhere.
“These are our troops. They’re also able to earn you points if you kill them. But just 1 point though. The amount of soldiers we can have is decided by us. However, the strength of the soldiers will be based on the strength of the representative of the branch they belong to. In other words, if you have 100 soldiers their strength will be one hundredth of their representative. Each branch is to have a default of 10 soldiers, if you wish for more you’re free to order more.”
‘Who would want more soldiers? The more soldiers you have the more chances you create for your opponents to gather points. If you have enough your opponent won’t necessarily need to defeat you to win. They just need to focus on your soldiers. Also, you’ll need to protect your soldiers so that they aren’t used to quickly gather points.’
Miko thought to himself.
“This competition will test every aspect of us and decide whose the best.”
Krul continued.
“You’ll need to create tactics. Have great team work. Know how to utilize your subordinates in the most effective ways.”
He smiled.
“And most importantly, your combat skills will be put to the test. Truly the perfect stage to determine who’s the best.”
