Mythical Conquest
Ruthless Deposition

Ruthless Deposition

“So we're supposed to capture this city to receive benefits, huh?”

Miko looked at the insanely tall wall as he said that.

He then turned and looked at his army of NPCs, that numbered a couple thousands.

And then-

“Okay, fuck the city. We're going to circle around and kill Dario.”

He chose to ignored the game itself.

“I don't mind. Besieging a city takes time anyway.”

Leon agreed.

“Okay, we're going around.”

They all ignored the city and decided to circle around it.

However-

*Boom!*

Miko suddenly felt like he collided into something and was blown back.

“Miko, are you okay?”

Sasha asked while picking him up.

“I forgot to mention this!”

Suddenly they could hear Nero's voice again.

“Even if you choose to not capture the city, you still have to enter it to advance. Otherwise, you'll be hit by a force field.”

“Screw you, old man!”

Miko shouted angrily.

“So what do we do now?”

Ace asked.

Miko once again looked at the wall.

“I doubt they'll just let us in the city with an army behind us.”

Even though the people in the city were NPCs, they should have a bit of intelligence.

Especially considering who their makers were.

Miko sighed as if giving up.

“It's a pain in the ass, but we’ll have to besiege the city.”

He said with a frown.

“How should we go about it?”

Luka asked.

“With force.”

Miko sucked in a breath and fire and lightning could be seen generating in throat.

He breathe out and a pillar of fire and lightning hit the wall.

*Boom!*

“….Hm?”

To Miko's surprise, his attack did nothing more than scratch the wall.

“…..I see. This wall was created by the old man after all. Breaking it should be impossible for us.”

“What was that?!”

“We're under attack!”

Miko looked up and saw that the soldiers on the wall were in a frenzy.

When he saw them an idea floated in his head.

“Don't.”

However, he was stopped by Luka.

“Don't what?”

“Don't play dumb. You were just planning on slaughtering those soldiers, and opening the gate from the inside, right?”

“My. If you know that I was thinking that, then you must've thought the same thing.”

“…….”

Luka didn't answer.

“There's no need to kill our way in, Mikky.”

As she said that, Hina grew wings and flew to the top of the wall.”

“What?!”

The soldiers were shocked when they saw her.

Hina said nothing, and silently released her Qi.

Her Qi then turned into beams of light and hit the men in the head.

Their bodies shook for a little bit, and then their eyes dulled.

“Colonel!”

All the men started saluting Hina.

“Open the gate and let in those men. They are guests of the king.”

“Aye!”

“Open the gates!”

The soldiers all started moving to open the gates to let Miko and others in.

“Illusions? Not a bad way to infiltrate a city.”

Leon commented from the side.

“Miko, I think it's best we conquer this city and receive the special privileges.”

Said Sasha.

“Privileges? I don't need it. However, Dario might.”

Miko turned around and look at the army he was given.

“Considering we both got an army, this city will be destroyed if both armies attack from both sides. That will lead to a chaotic battle in the middle of the city.”

As Miko said this the gates were finally open.

“This city is something Nero created just to tempt both sides to act upon their greed for power and destroy a nation just to strengthen their own.”

Miko smiled.

“He just wants to show the ugliness of war to the audience, and show them a fate that could fall upon them in the future. These so-called privileges is substitutes for stuff like resources and land, things that any nation would want more of. As for the additional soldiers, their just slaves of the fallen country that can be put on the front lines to die for the same people who destroyed their homeland.”

Miko's smile suddenly became savage.

“This kid….”

Rouge and other Triad leaders could sense the dark emotions swarming around Miko.

“He's going to kill them all.”

Joesph calmly said.

Miko quickly turned around and faced his army.

“Men! Destroy this city!”

“?!”

Miko's words shocked a lot of people in the stadium.

“Wait, Miko! Aren't we supposed to conquer the city?!”

Sasha asked.

“Conquering this city is just a waste of time. Privileges? Don't need it. Extra soldiers? Don't need it. I came here not to entertain millions of people. I came here to kill my way to the throne. That's all!”

Miko faced the men again.

“Obey my order, you damn puppets! Keep the other puppets busy and prevent them from blocking my path!”

Miko had no intention of playing along with Nero's games.

Conquering this city was pointless to him, but it could grant his opponents an advantage. That couldn't be allowed.

If this city and its people block his path, then they must be erased.

As for what the people who were watching would think-

“Fuck them. If I'm too busy worrying about people before I even sit on the throne, then I'll never be able to turn this kingdom into an empire!”

Miko's words caught everyone offguard.

“So he's not planning on preserving or rebuilding the kingdom, he's planning on creating an empire. Interesting.”

Christian smiled as he spoke.

“Hahahaha! I like this kid! He doesn't care about the public opinion, he's just doing what's to be done. He's ruthlessly decisive!”

Kouta said while laughing.

“An empire is built on the corpses of both its enemies and people. An empire cannot be built with a kind heart. This boy is purposely walking the bloody path. It's the quickest way to get what he wants, but also the most deadliest. But he chose to walk without a care.”

Joesph said.

“He's just like Nero.”

Darwin said.

“Nero?”

Joesph laughed.

“So that's how he looks to you.”

“He doesn't?”

Joesph shook his head.

“Nero is cruel and decisive, but not compared to that man.”

“That man?”

Joesph smiled and didn't say another word.

In meanwhile, Miko's soldiers started marching into the city.

Once they all were in the city, Miko shouted.

“Destroy everything in front of you! Spare no soul and burn the city to the ground!”

“OH!”

The soldiers disperse and started to randomly attack people and set things a fire.

The screams of the citizens resounded through the stadium.

“Was this really okay, Gamiko?”

Sora asked.

“Yeah.”

Sora looked at the chaos in front of him, but didn't really feel nothing from it.

“….Well, it would be like this either way. If you had ordered for the army to conquer the city, the acts would be same. Only the order would be different. Not to mention that our army would eventually clash with Dario's. Two armies attacking one city would only lead to chaos.”

He said.

“At least this way we won't have to worry about managing our army. Let's just leave them on auto play, and do what we want.”

Ace said from the side.

“Well, I guess you're right.”

Sasha had to acknowledge that Miko's way was more beneficial to their situation.

“Dario could be thinking of obtaining the city to get the advantage.”

Luka stated.

“He should have broken up his army in to seven parts, and have Marco and the Generals lead a platoon for themselves and act independently.”

Miko nodded with agreement with Luka's words.

“So we’ll do the same. Spread out and search for a General. If you see your teammate having a tough battle, intercept if possible and help out. If your compatiable is low with your opponent retreat and switch with one of us. None of us are to die, got it?”

Everyone nodded.

“Remember Marco is mine, and Dario is Luka’s. They probably are together so Luka and I will move together. If you meet them before us contact us by firing a powerful Qi attack in the air. We'll race over.”

They nodded again.

“Okay, scatter!”

Except for Miko and Luka who remained behind, everyone went a different direction.

“Are you ready?”

Miko asked Luka with a smile.

“Yeah. Are you?”

“I've been planning this for 13 years, I've always been ready.”

Luka smiled when she heard that.

The two then spurted wings from their backs and flew off in a direction.

Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield.

Dario and the others also entered the city.

Just like Luka said, they split up and carried their platoons to conquer different parts of the city.

Of course, Dario and Marco were together.

*Boom!*

Marco snapped his fingers and crimson lightning fell from the sky and struck a group of soldiers turning them into ashes.

“Don't waste your energy.”

Dario reminded him.

“It's fine. This much won't make a difference. Thanks to Shui, we were able to enter the city without wasting any energy.”

Unlike Miko who wanted to hurry up and break into the city, Dario was a bit calmer.

He ordered his General Shui to use his spiritual powers to manipulate the guards and have them let them in.

He also ordered him to have the guards spit out any information about the city they knew.

From the chain of command in the army to the most influential characters.

This was all so that he could quickly conquer the city and gain the privilege that comes with it.

“After we conquer this place and receive the special rewards, we'll destroy the Third in one sweep.”

Marco laughed.

“If only it could be so easy.”

He never thought that victory would be assured if they conquered the city.

Nero said it himself.

“Capturing the city won't decide the king, only the rules stated before can decide the winner.”

Which means that even if you conquer the city the chances are that it was all wasted effort, and you'll still lose.

“It doesn't matter. I can't afford to lose, so I'll take every advantage given to me.”

It just like Miko said. This city was placed here to entice human greed.

Dario might not realize it on the same level as Miko, but he was aware that Nero left this city for a reason.

“For now, search for Miko and the others.”

“And if we meet that Luka girl?”

“Kill her. Even if the others are left, she and Miko must die.”
