When the Dark God heard Nova’s question, it felt that something wasn’t right. It’s instincts told it that he needed to escape.
However, it was too late.
Nova stretched out his hand towards the Dark God, the moment he did, the world pulsated and everything turned a darkish purple and motionless. It was at that moment that the Dark God realized that time had stopped for him.
The only thing that remained the same were him and Nova.
“Chaos World.”
Nova said with a smile.
The Dark God soon noticed the world around him began to deform as if reality itself was having a melt down. Whether it be the ground, the people or even the sky, everything was melting before his eyes.
“*#$@$?!”
It spoke with an incomprehensible language, however Nova knew what it wanted to say.
“What the hell is going on?!”
That’s what it had said from its expression.
“This is my secret technique, Chaos World. This is a technique that allows others to see the world through my eyes. It’s a world where you’ll experience my thoughts and come in contact with my mind.”
Nova explained.
“For some reason though, everyone who’s come in contact with this technique always goes insane; most end up committing suicide too.”
He said casually as if trying to figure out the reason.
The Dark God got a bad vibe from him, so it immediately tried attacking him with a powerful punch.
“?!”
However, no matter how hard it tried the fist just couldn’t reach Nova. He started to attack wildly with all kinds of attacks but the result was the same.
It once again had a confused and scared face.
“It’s no use. This isn’t a physical world.”
Nova pointed at his head.
“It’s inside my head. Your mind was brought here leaving your body behind, but don’t worry no matter how much time passes in here, it’ll only be an instant in reality.”
The Dark God was shocked to hear this.
“Oh? Looks like you’re diving deeper into my mind.”
Nova pointed at him and said.
The Dark God looked at its body and soon saw something terrifying.
It was deforming like the rest of the world.
Nova laughed and took a seat on the ground.
“Now then, lets see how long can you last.”
“*!$&@?!”
The Dark God shouted using its language. It was obvious that slowly melting before its own eyes had frightened it out of its mind. Soon it couldn’t only see itself melting, it could even feel it.
The disgusting feeling of its body liquidity and spread across the ground just frightened it more. It couldn’t tell what was happening to it and was unable to do anything.
Soon it felt its senses disappearing one by one. At first it couldn’t taste anything, and then it couldn’t smell anything, then it couldn’t see anything.
After that, its senses stop disappearing leaving only its sense of touch and earring. This didn’t comfort it in the least, it was extremely terrified. It couldn’t see anything but felt disgusting, and Nova’s laugh just increased it fear factor.
After a while it started feeling kinds of disgusting sensations, and heard all kinds of disturbing sounds; but it couldn’t identify what they were and only made it even more anxious.
It stayed like this for what felt like forever. It felt isolated and removed from reality. After a while, it started to have doubts. It started to doubt the life it live or even the fact that it had lived at all.
After what felt like thousands of years, it forgot its own name and everything about itself.
It’s mind crumbled away and was lost forever.
“……….”
Back in reality, Nova looked at the Dark God that had became nothing but a statue with vacant expression. He could tell that the Dark God had died mentally, and like he said it only took an instant in real life.
“…….”
He silently approached it, and beheaded it while it was still defenseless. He then destroyed the body, but kept the head.
He waved his hand and a door appeared out of nowhere. He quickly opened the door and what was revealed inside were shelves with countless heads on them.
This was nova’s trophy room. In this space he stores the head of every strong opponent he’s ever defeated and keep them as proof of his victories. This room was special, so the heads will never decomposed and will as be as fresh as the day the were cut from their bodies.
Some of the heads in this room belonged to several proxies all who were incredibly famous. It was because he did stuff like this that he was regarded as a psychopath. His hobby also gained the hatred of countless persons, because they wanted the heads of their love ones that he was keeping.
He placed the Dark God’s giant head on a shelf that marked higher beings. It was obvious that he had wanted the head of a God for a long time now.
He made the door disappear and turned his full attention to the battlefield.
“I wonder just how many trophies I’ll be able to collect this time?”
“………..”
At that moment, it was as if the whole world had became silent. The reason for this was obvious.
A Higher Being had been killed. In this day and time, a higher being has experienced death. That was completely unimaginable in an era like this where they are basically untouchable.
Everyone who was watching this battle, whether they be friend, foe, or mere spectators they all were left speechless by what they saw.
Nova had killed a higher being. He was the first to do so in countless years.
“Attaboy, Junior!”
Nero jumped on the back of son in celebration, while laughing joyously.
“You create history, my boy.”
Nero wrapped his arms around his neck and said.
“However, keep your antics to a minimum. If you don’t, I’ll have to break you again.”
Nero whispered in his ear.
He burst out with another laugh.
“I can’t let me seed outshine me!”
He stepped forward.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
“Come at me, Gods!”
As if to answer his challenge, two Higher Beings came at him all at once.
These higher beings was the Titan, Iapetus and the Buddha, Mahāsthāmaprāpta aka Seishi.
“The Titan who is the progenitor of the human race, and the Buddha of wisdom huh?”
He grinned.
“Interesting!”
*BOOOM!*
Iapetus attacked with his spear, while Seishi attacked with his golden palm.
Nero and Nova both leaped several miles back to avoided the power of their attacks.
“Junior, don’t get involved! They’re my prey!”
Nero shouted.
Nova only nodded and immediately took off. As someone who fought against his father on countless occasions, he knew from the tone of his voice that Nero was about to go all out.
‘Even though, this power Miko granted me allows me to use even my strongest attacks without getting tired, I knew the instant that he whispered in my ear…’
Nova thought while remembering the sensation he got when his father jumped on his back seemingly celebrating. The moment Nero touched him, nova felt like he was being trapped by a beast that could devour him whenever he wanted. It was as if he was a mice that was caught by a snake, and that snake was only observing him while deciding if it should feast on him or not.
‘Looks like I was being naïve. Even with this power, I still can’t beat my father.’
He thought with a smile.
Meanwhile, Nero was avoiding the strikes of the two higher beings using minimal but precise movements. This caused him to withstand fighting the two while measuring their strengths.
“Whew.”
After a bit, he whistled.
“They’re strong. Incredibly strong. I doubt there’s anyone I’ve fought that was as strong as them.”
A savage grin appeared on his face.
“That means I can go all out and some!”
He leap back as far as he could to create some distance between them and himself.
His body silently released an azure aura.
“I am the son of the goddess who rules the seas of the primordial era, basking the world in her brilliance as she becomes the dragoness.”
*CRACK!*
The moment Nero spoke those words, the sky itself cracked like it was piece of fragile glass.
“?!”
This alarmed everyone, mortals and higher beings alike.
“Oi, oi, oi! Is he trying to destroy this world?!”
Rouge shouted after recognizing the changes.
“That bastard, did he forget that we can’t use techniques like these in the mortal world?! It’s not as strong as it used to be!”
Alexus said as he was retreating at full speed.
“Raven!”
Seeing what was being projected, Kimiko called out to Raven.
“In case the scale of the battle spread too far, what was Miko’s orders to you? I know he must’ve given you some.”
Kimiko quickly asked him.
“He did. He ordered me to use the same spell that Rouge did 13 years ago during the Flameheart incident and cut the continent off from the rest of the world.”
Raven answered.
“Do it now. At least then, we can contain the amount of damage to the mortal world.”
Kimiko answered.
She looked back at the projection in the air.
“The way this battle is going, this Continent is gonna sink.”
*BOOOM!*
Nero’s skin suddenly burst apart as if he just shed his entire existence. What was left was an azure neon silhouette.
“Kill him!”
Several higher beings moved to attacked him all at once.
*BOOOM!*
However, they were all attacked by gigantic red tentacles which forced them all back.
“You gods sure lack mannerism.”
Miko blocked their path and said.
“Don’t you know that it’s proper etiquette to not interrupt someone while they’re in the middle of a transformation?”
He showed them a mocking smile.
“You all should read more manga.”
“Quit spouting our nonsense!”
The gods charged at him.
“Japanimation!”
Miko fearless clashed with them all with a big smile on his face.
*BOOOM!* *BOOOM!* *BOOOM!* *BOOOM!*
He smacked higher beings left right and center with overwhelming power. At this stage, Miko’s body was incapable of healing every wound it received because of how much power Miko was drawing from the Continent.
He was burning his life force without a care in the world.
Meanwhile, Nero was going through another change.
“I am the son of the conqueror who bends the world in any form that he wishes, and showcased his dominance on gods, demons, and beasts alike.”
His azure form was covered with a purple aura which slowly merged with it, and turned him into a perfect mix of the two.
“But I am the being that brings forth endless destruction to all! He who seeks to stand above all existence!”
This time a black aura engulf him. This aura started to change his appearance as if tainting him with its darkness.
“For I am without equal!”
*BOOOM!*
Mile wide cracks started appearing through the entire continent, as if it was breaking apart.
“Gospel Of The Demon Dragon God!”
*BOOOM!*
A bright light spread out along with a gigantic explosion. This explosion quickly compressed itself before being mold into the shape of a human. When the light faded, an entirely new being stood in its place.
It was 8 ft tall, muscular but lean, had parts of its limbs covered in either azure, purple or black scales, and a dragon’s tail and a pair wings. It was shirtless but had on an Egyptian style baggy white pants, golden anklets on each foot. It had handsome yet stern face, beastly gold eyes with black corneas, black hair that flowed down to its back, and finally a third eye in the center of its forehead.
This was Demon Dragon God, Nero’s strongest form. This was the form he took to defeat Krow five years ago.
“That human, he became a god?!”
The higher beings were shocked by the godly aura Nero was giving off. It wasn’t something that a mortal should possess.
“My grandmother was a sea dragon goddess, and my grandfather was a human who surpassed a god.”
Nero spoke with a rough and commanding voice.
“What’s wrong with me becoming a god as well?”
A long time ago, back when Miko was only 6 and was preparing to take on Darius, Tiamat had once said that her blood was very strong in Nero, and because of this he can do everything Miko can.
Also back during his time training with Momo, she said that those with azure and purple hair like Nero had the perfect mix of Augustus and Tia’s blood and possessed the advantages that they brought.
Another time was when Momo taught him about the fact that if you master any form of power to utmost limit you’ll gain the title of god and will be able to contend against a real one.
“Oh? So this is the result of equally inheriting both their blood traits, and mastering a form of power to the point of godhood.”
Miko smiled as he looked at the deified Nero.
“You can become a true god yourself.”
He then looked at the other branch leaders. Since they and Nero had the same origins and it was established that they all were around equal with Nero having some edge, they should be able to became True Gods themselves.
“God?”
Iapetus and Seishi who were were chasing after Nero, approached him.
“He’s nothing but a fraud. True godhood cannot be obtain so easily.”
Said the Buddha of wisdom, Seishi.
Hearing them say that, Nero looked at them with a cold gaze. His usual playful demeanor was gone.
“Fighting you two should just be at my limit.”
He approached them and said.
“So if I kill you, that means I’ve surpassed my limit.”
“Insolent!”
Iapetus thrust his spear at him with a force which looked like it could pierce through the world. Nero stepped forward and clash against it with a punch.
*BOOOM!*
Mile wide cracks once again opened up the earth.
Seishi attacked Nero from the side with a beam of holy light. Nero swung his hand at it and his Midnight Blade appeared.
*BOOOM!*
The light was deflected and crashed into an army of hell residents.
Nero charged towards Seishi with his sword in his hand, he blocked Iapetus’ spear with his free hand to prevent him from stopping him.
Seishi saw that Nero was aiming for his life and summoned a thousand palms behind him. All the palms charged at Nero with the intent to squash him.
Seeing that, Nero smiled.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve taken this form…..I’m gonna enjoy it to the fullest!”
In that moment, Nero suddenly multiplied and formed a small army of himself. They all charged at the palms swing their swords.
*BOOOM!*
Countless explosions echoed out as the entire continent shook. The real Nero appeared in front of Seishi.
“Hm?”
But before he could strike he had to dodged a spear thrust from Iapetus. He leaped back and saw Iapetus and Seishi stand side by side.
“I guess the difference in size is becoming a hindrance.”
He said.
“I guest I’ll have level the playing broad.”
Shortly after saying that, Nero suddenly began growing. In no time he was the same size as the Titan Iapetus.
“That’s better.”
He immediately jumped in the air and aimed a kick at the Titan. Iapetus thrust his spear to pierced through his attack.
*BOOOM!*
The foot and spear clashed and caused mass destruction everywhere. Nero twisted his body and hitting Seishi with a corkscrew kick, when he was trying to sneak attack him from the side.
Seishi stumbled a few steps, and Nero chased after him with his sword. He then jumped backwards and avoided Iapetus spear with a backflip.
He landed behind Iapetus and swung his sword at his waist. His sword was however, blocked by Iapetus thrusting down the pole of his spear beside him.
Seishi jumped over Iapetus and a holy land appeared behind him. From this holy land, a million monks fired arrows down at Nero.
Nero leaped back, but Iapetus appeared behind him thrusting his spear. Nero was unable to completely avoid the spear, so he made it stabbed through his side and approached Iapetus.
This caught Iapetus off guard. Nero thrust his hand forward and stabbed into his chest and grabbed his heart.
“Devil Art: Infinite Erosion!”
“?!”
Iapetus felt his heart being stabbed with something cold, which caused him great pain.
“Whoa there.”
Nero avoided an attack from Seishi and the holy land he opened behind him.
“What did you do to him, Fraud?!”
Seishi asked.
“Nothing much. I know that titans like him are really hard to kill, I used a particular art of mine to cause his heart to erode and turn to dust.”
Nero said.
“Also this art while spread to his entire body every time his body tries to regenerates. When that happens, his entire body will turn to dust.”
Nero smiled at Seishi.
“Do you understand? His body will rot and continue to rot and turn to dust for all of eternity. In others, an endless loop of death.”
Gods of the Greek mythos originally possess immortality, because of this they are extremely hard to kill in this world, especially thanks to the fact that they continuously regenerate.
However, what if there was something that would destroy their bodies every time it tries to regenerate? They’ll experience physical death even if their souls remains.
“You see, our clan hates Greek gods; because of this hatred we’ve develop countless ways to kill them. My devil arts is just an example of them.”
He showed his Midnight Blade.
“Of course, this blade which can destroy the soul without harming the physical body is one of them. Once I cut you with this your soul is gone forever.”
Nero instantly appeared beside Iapetus, whose body was crumbling away before his eyes.
“For example, like this.”
Nero thrust the sword through Iapetus’ head. When he did, all life disappeared in Iapetus eyes as he stood motionlessly like a statue while his body eroded.
“And like that, I’ve killed my first Greek god.”
He showed a peace sign.
“And I’m sure they’ll be more to come. So stay tuned.”
