Lunacy

District 1.

After angering the Syndicate and official kicking off the war, Jin returned to the 1st District feeling rather satisfied with himself.

He didn’t go to Jun’s headquarters and walked the streets and listened to the people.

He could tell from the tense atmosphere that everyone was on edge. It was apparent to everyone that the war was about to get under way.

“Hm?”

As he was walking through the streets, his eyes caught the figure of a pink haired little girl.

Jin could tell from her aura that this wasn’t an ordinary person. However, the current Jin didn’t fear a thing. After all, the dead had nothing to fear.

He walked up to the girl with a smile on his face.

“Little girl, may I know who you are?”

He said with a pleasant smile.

“You don’t have to qualifications to know.”

Mari replied.

“I see. Then what do you want with me?”

Jin didn’t get angry and kept his calm.

“Jin Makoto, have you’ve ever heard about the New Era?”

“New Era? Is that some kind of cult or something?”

Jin said jokingly tone.

“Well, I can’t deny that.”

“Woah, woah. I was just kidding you know. You aren’t here to invite to join your cult are you?”

Mari nodded.

“In all seriousness, New Era doesn’t possess a religious belief to be call a cult. It’s a secret organization that has been in existence for thousands of years.”

“If it’s so secretive, then why are you telling me about it? And in the middle of street to be exact?”

“Because we won’t be a secret for much longer. Soon the whole world will don a new era whether they like it or not.”

“Quite the grand statement there. Just what is this New Era?”

Jin asked.

“I can only tell you that if you decide to join us.”

“What? You expect me to blindingly join an organization I know nothing about? Only an idiot would do that.”

“What if I said that MYTH was apart of it?”

“That makes it even worse.”

Jin sighed before saying-

“I’ll be honest with you little girl. I have no intention of living past the next couple days. I have no ambition, no dream, no obligation so trying to recruit me is useless.”

Mari shook her head.

“You definitely won’t die here, Jin Makoto. No, Kylie. Your destiny isn’t so small that you’ll die in a simple experiment.”

“So you guys know my real name. That says a lot about your information network.”

Jin said as he squinted his eyes a little.

“We know everything we want to know. There’s nothing that escapes us.”

“Such arrogance.”

Mari didn’t respond and turned around to leave.

“Are you just going to leave like that? Shouldn’t you put a little bit of effort in recruiting me?”

Asked Jin.

“It’s pointless as you are now.”

Mari said as she walked away.

Before she disappeared into the crowd she said this-

“If I were you I would remember the name Genesis, because when they make their move you and whole world will know just how terrifying the New Era is.”

“Genesis? Isn’t that the mysterious organization that created the heat bombs?”

By the time he said that Mari disappeared.

“Hmm…I wonder who she was. Well, if she knew about this experiment then she must be a high ranking member of MYTH. Then does that mean MYTH really is apart of this New Era?”

Jin then remembered Mari’s words.

“You definitely won’t die here, Jin Makoto. No, Kylie. Your destiny isn’t so small that you’ll die in a simple experiment.”

“Destiny, huh?”

Jin never really liked this word, but he couldnt deny that it existed.

“Well, if I really live past the next couple days then I’ll look into this New Era.”

*Boom!*

A building not too far away from Jin was suddenly blown up after getting hit by a rocket.

He looked a bit further down the street and saw several thugs riding on motorcycles firing randomly in the crowd of people and at the buildings.

“Looks like the war has finally started to spread.”

Jin said with a smile.

“Whether I live or die is in the future. For now let’s focus on the present.”

A biker who was leading the pack started firing his weapon in Jin’s direction.

Jin evaded with minimal movement and then stepped on the ground.

*Boom!*

A golden spike suddenly erected from the ground and pierced the man in chest and forced him off the bike.

The bike continued moving forward until Jin grabbed it and stopped it.

“And the present is currently in chaos.”

He jumped on the bike and rode off after saying thanks for the bike.

Meanwhile, the city had fully been engrossed in war.

Explosions could be heard coming from all of the districts without exception.

The forces of Pillars were clashing with the Syndicate and its allied forces with the intention of completely annihilating the other.

The ordinary citizens were caught up between both sides and became collateral damage.

There were some who believed that something must be done and joined either side.

Those who believed that the Syndicate made them tremble in fear for too long and should be eradicated, joined the Pillars forces and attacked the criminals.

Those who were faded up with the way the Pillars did things or had grudges against them, joined the Syndicate and started to attack the law enforcers.

Either way, it was like the disease known as war had infected the people.

“Look at them go.”

Miko said as he watched the citizens violent acts from the top of a skyscraper.

“'We are all born insane, it’s just that some of us haven’t realize it.' I once said this to Sora before we fought Darius.”

Miko smiled as he saw the disgusting expressions on their faces as they committed some of the most vile crimes.

“This scene is truly the perfect example of human nature. This is like a painting of lunacy at its finest.”

Miko laughed as he said that.

“Sorry to interrupt your evil monologue, but when are you going to give the order?”

Bloom’s voice came from the earpiece Miko was wearing.

“Not yet. Both sides haven’t shed enough blood yet.”

His gaze swept across the city that was filled with constant explosions and flames.

“But you do have a point. We can’t stay hidden forever and wait for the enemy to kill each other. Besides, both sides are definitely expecting us to join the fray. So it’s not like we have the element of surprise.”

A wicked smile slowly appeared on his face.

“Since that’s the case then there’s no need to hold back then.”

A green and an azure light flashed and both Ishma and Regis appeared at his side.

“Okay. Run wild!”

Miko suddenly started sprinting down the skyscraper without waiting for a response from his earpiece.

He moved down the skyscraper like a track star down a field.

He swung his hands to the side and gathered fire in one hand and lightning in the other.

He jumped off the side of the building and combined the fire and lightning together.

“Electric Flame Cannon!”

*Boom!*

A burst of fire and lightning shot down towards the earth.

When it hit countless people were blown away either set ablaze or suffering from electric shocks.

Miko’s grand display of power had drawn the attention of everyone in the area.

“Heavenly Demon King!”

With all eyes on him, Miko grinned and pressed a button on his belt.

Immediately after countless weapons like rockets, guns, and lasers appeared on his body and were pointing in every direction.

With an excited and yet savage smile Miko said-

“Say goodnight to the bad guy!”

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

The surrounding area was bombard by Miko who had turned into a weapon of mass destruction.

Countless people were blown away like leaves in the wind, mostly dying before they touched the ground again.

“Hahahahahaha!”

Miko laughed crazily as he fired his weapons without reserve.

To him the entire city was the enemy, so there was no need to hold back.

It was at this moment that Ishma fell out of the sky and landed near Miko.

“Finally I get to really run wild!”

Demonic green aura burst forth from her body without reserve. When the citizens felt her bloodlust they all trembled in fear and started to flee in panic.

The bloodlust of a True Demon wasn’t something to laugh at. The average human could die from a cardiac arrest just from feeling it.

Sinister dark green aura swirled around in Ishma’s palms.

“Die!”

She thrust her palms forward and it was like a hurricane from hell had descend upon the city.

*BOOM!*

Buildings started to be uprooted and people were turned into bloody mists. Everything it came intact with received a miserable end.

“Hahaha! Destruction is always fun to see!”

Ishma laughed evilly.

It was time like this that she really showed the qualities of being the daughter of Lucifer.

“Wow, you two seriously are made for each other.”

Regis said as she watched Miko and Ishma wreck the city without care.

“Well I guess I’m no better.”

Her blade wings were released from her back.

She smiled and flopped her wings.

*BOOM!*

The wind coming from her wings were like invisible blades, as they sliced through everything they came in contact with.

Whether it be people, buildings or vehicles, everything was cut in front of these winds.

With the three of them attacking without an ounce of mercy, the people who had numbered in its thousands had long either been killed or evacuated the area.

Only the three were left.

“Hahaha! That was fun.”

Ishma laughed.

Miko nodded in agreement and took off his weapons after they ran out of ammo.

“War is always fun, no matter the Era.”

Miko then spoke into his earpiece.

“Has Exsul been deployed yet?”

“They’ve already left their stations and headed to war after receiving your deployment order.”

Bloom answered.

“What about your group?”

“We’ve already left for our hunt. Thanks again for allowing us to stop Jin.”

When Miko and the others were discussing the division of the troops, Sapphire had requested the chance to engage Jin and beat some sense in him.

Since Miko practically owned their lives now that they were being targeted by the whole city including the Pillars, his permission was needed. Otherwise they would betray their benefactor and would be left without any allies.

It could also put a strain on Miko’s and Bloom’s relationship, which Sapphire didn’t wish to do.

To her surprise, Miko instantly agreed to them acting on their own.

“You’ve misunderstood something here, Bloom.”

Miko suddenly said.

“The reason why I gave you guys the okay to meet Jin is because I know that it would be useless. There’s no way you guys can reach him, so I don’t have to worry about losing one of my targets during this war.”

“Even if you don’t believe we can, we’ll definitely reach him.”

Bloom said with determination.

“Hahaha! Well, you can’t say I didn’t warn you. But having you guys locating him for me is beneficial.”

Miko said with a laugh.

“Well, good luck. And don’t forget whose woman you are.”

“Of course. There’s no need to worry. I definitely won’t disgrace your name by losing to anyone.”

Miko smile in satisfaction and turned off his communicator.

“Before I fight jin and Kaido, I need a warm up.”

Miko said as he looked at the person who was walking towards him while surrounded with thick bloodlust.

This person was Sebas Lovefall, who was holding on to the zodiac suitcase in his hand.

Miko smiled in excitement and said-

“Lets finish this once and all, Sebas!”

Sebas growled with bloodshot eyes..

“Die, Miko!”
