Miko was steadily making preparations to enter war with the entire Eastern Region when he was suddenly summoned to the familiar white room in his soul.
“What is it? I’m busy you know.”
He said to Augustus who was standing in front of him.
“Miko, as your original self there’s something I’m obligated to warn you about.”
Augustus spoke with a serious tone.
“Why do sound so high and mighty like you’re looking down on me?”
Miko replied.
“As your new self, I’m obligated to tell you to fuck off, but you don’t see me looking down on you.”
He replied.
The two’s arrogance immediately clashed like usual.
“Listen to me, you brat. This is serious. Not only our lives but Tia’s might be on the line.”
Augustus replied with an irritated expression.
“I’m listening.”
When he heard that, Miko couldnt bring it in himself to fool around anymore.
Augustus sighed and then continued.
“What I want to warn you about is two existences that you should be extremely wary of in the future."
“Are talking about gods?”
Augustus shook his head.
“No. These two are end game level beings. They are the two strongest and evilest beings outside of the Supreme Being. Well, even the Supreme Being can’t act recklessly around them.”
“Really? Tell me.”
Said Miko.
Augustus paused for a little bit before continuing.
“First I must tell you the identity of the being inside the black coffin.”
“Wait. You knew who it was?”
“I only learned about its identity after I died. Since its curse was what had made my body decay, my soul briefly came in contact with it.”
“I see. Quickly tell me who it is. Is it someone I know?”
Augustus nodded his head.
“In your world it goes by many names, but the one you should be most familiar with is Samael.”
“The fuck?!”
Miko instantly flew out of his chair with cold sweat covering his body.
“You’re telling me that the thing in the coffin is the Archangel of Death?!”
Samael. The name means the poison of god, venom of god, or blindness of god. He was an archangel who was an accuser, seducer, and destroyer, and had been regarded as both good and evil.
Samael was a special type of archangel. Unlike the others who were tasked with admirable deeds, he was tasked with the most evil and vile deeds. He was truly the dark side of heaven.
One of Samael's greatest roles in lore was that of the main archangel of death. He was death himself.
He remains one of God's servants even though he condones the sins of man. As an angel, Samael resides in the seventh heaven, although he is declared to be the chief angel of the fifth heaven, the reason for this being the presence of the throne of glory in the seventh heaven.
However there was one thing about him that trumped all the previous information.
Samael was the true name of the one called Satan.
“You mean to tell me that Satan exists in this world? And it’s what’s in that coffin?”
Augustus nodded.
“Samael was an existence that struck fear in every Higher being in this world. That’s because he was death himself. He wasn’t a god, a demon, or both, he was something unique. He was death in the flesh.”
He said.
“It would make sense that such a Being would end up fathering the entire demon race.”
“………”
Miko was silent.
He knew what kind of being Samael was. In fact, he had hoped that it didn’t exist in this world because it wasn’t something he wished to face.
No matter what lore or religion, Samael was depicted as the greatest evil to ever exist.
He was the serpent that seduced Adam and Eve into eating the forbidden fruit and have them both casted out of the garden of Eden.
He introduced death upon the world and caused humanity to sin.
He mated with Eve and produced a son, Cain who would commit the first act of murder.
No matter when or where, there was nothing good that came from his presence. A being that rivaled the Supreme Being.
“When I came face to face with Samael I immediately realized what true evil was.”
Augustus shook his head.
“I can’t even call him evil. Everything he does is a part of his existence. He’s only fulfilling his duty as the severity of God.”
“So rather than calling him evil, its better to say that evil is him.”
“Something like that.”
Augustus said.
“Well, he’s in the coffin unable to get free right? Or could it be that he’s dead?”
Miko asked.
Augustus shook his head.
“The fact that death still exists in the world is proof that he’s alive.”
“Ah. I forgot that he’s death itself. You can’t kill death.”
Miko said.
“So the reason why the fifth stage of Deus Malum is called Wicked God Satan is because you want to reach his level?”
He asked.
“That’s right. Samael/Satan is the pinnacle of evil. I want to reach that pinnacle using the power that he gave me.”
“Wait. Doesn’t that mean that Deus Malum in a way is an evil art of Satan himself? Since its his power that serves as the base.”
“In a way, I guess you’re right.”
Said Augustus.
“So if I master Deus Malum, I’ll become another Satan like Samael. Since Satan is more of a title than a name.”
Miko suddenly felt excited.
“Interesting.”
He said.
It was then that he realized something.
“Wait. You said that they were two persons you wanted to warn me about. Could it be that there’s someone as strong as Samael?”
“Before I get to that, I need to know. How much do you know about the connection between this world and the one you came from?”
“I only know that they’re dependent on each other and that although it’s incredibly hard, it’s possible to travel between them.”
Miko answered after some thought.
“Well, that’s the basic of it.”
Augustus answered.
“I’ll tell you how the two worlds came to be. This is info that my master told and it came straight from the Supreme Being himself.”
‘Master?’
Augustus continued.
“Apparently the two universes were originally one vast universe that came into existence simultaneously as the Supreme Being did. It was however a universe devoid of life. The Supreme Being was its sole inhabitant. However, over a span of time, that he himself couldn’t calculate, life started pop up one by one.”
Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.
Miko listened with a surprised face. This information was surely as important as it was shocking.
“Eventually the universe was filled with life. It was at this time that the Supreme Being realized that it was lonely back then. He started to interact with the lifeforms, the Primordial beings. He realized soon afterwards that they were far inferior to him, but he still enjoyed their company. He spent countless years watching over the life forms watching them evolve into intelligent beings.”
Miko tried to imagine the period back then. When the universe was still in its infancy stage, yet to blossom.
“When the life forms gained intelligence they began to worship the Supreme Being as their god, without considering what he thought about it. He just accepted their worship and kept watching over them. However, as time passed he realized that some of these lifeforms began to create their ideal beings and worship those Beings as their gods. Eventually, he found himself forgotten and no longer needed by that half of these lifeforms.”
“So Humans forgot their true god and erect new idols that fit their beliefs better. Sounds legit.”
Said Miko.
“Yeah. The Supreme Being wasn’t angry at them though. Instead he decided to compromise with those lifeforms in his own way.”
“Wait. Did he…?”
Augustus nodded.
“That’s right. He divided the universe in two and placed them in separate dimensions, thus creating two universes. One with his believers and the other with those who no longer needed him.”
“Damn. He literally cut them off.”
Miko added.
“Even though they were now two universes, since they were originally one they remained linked. However, the laws they were governed under were vastly different. That is why one has magic while one didn’t. Also the laws of time and space are different as well.”
“You mean time flows differently?”
Augustus nodded.
“But that isn’t important. Let me continue.”
He said.
“Anyway, the Supreme Being governed this world Terra, while the other one Earth was left to those life forms. However, he realized that the worlds heavily influenced each other despite being separated. The idols those life forms created started to appear in this world in the flesh.”
“What? Are you saying that the ancient gods weren’t created by the Supreme Being but just manifested here out of nowhere?”
Augustus nodded.
“The Supreme Being didn’t understand it himself, but it seemed that those lifeforms had the ability to bring their idols to life with their faith. The only thing was that those idols could only manifested in this world where magic and other strange powers existed.”
“Well, that put a rest to the discussion of whether gods created us or we created the gods.”
Miko muttered.
“I wouldn’t say so.”
Said Augustus.
“While it was human faith that caused those gods to manifest, once manifested those gods created humans as well.”
“And you just reignited the argument.”
Miko said with a sigh.
“Anyway, gods began manifesting in this world one by one. Not only them, but demons, and other creatures of myth.”
“Wait. I have a question. This world is millions of years old right? And so is earth. If that’s the case then this world should be filled with with ancient gods and demons that were long forgotten by the people in the river of time, yet every Higher being here are known to earth. Where did the ancient gods go?”
“I told you didn’t I? The worlds still heavily influenced each other. In other words, if a god is erased here they would be erased in the other world over time.”
“You mean, that they were all erased?”
Augustus nodded.
“By who?”
“By Samael and the other being I want you to be cautious of. But I’m getting there.”
Augustus said.
“Anyway, to test something out the Supreme Being created life for the first time. He created the world’s first Phoenix.”
The moment Miko heard that a face flashed in his mind.
“Who was that?”
“……….”
Augustus realized that he must’ve saw Rias face, but chose to remain silent about it.
“The Supreme Being then observed Earth and as he expected, the creature known as the Phoenix appeared and blended in their culture. This proved that the minds of the lifeforms of Earth were linked to this world. Whatever happened here would influence their minds in numerous ways. While their minds were able to manifest beings in this world.”
“Damn, then in a way this is an imaginary world linked to the subconscious of the human race.”
Miko said after thinking about what Augustus said.
“I see. You said that time flowed different in the two universes right?”
“I did.”
Augustus nodded.
“Which universe’s time flow faster?”
“The one you’re from.”
He answered.
“How fast?”
“Would you believe me that despite being alive here for almost two decades, a week haven’t even past on earth?”
“That makes sense.”
Miko replied.
“I finally know why fictional characters like Dracula and a man made pantheon like the Cthulhu Mythos exists in this world. They were manifested by the combined subconsciousness of their fans and those who believed them to be true stories. This is also the reason why real people like Alexander the Great are here as well, as mythical heroes. They had myths surrounding them that were thought to be true by their followers for countless years. This faith caused their alter egos to manifest here.”
This explained why beings like Alexander the Great, Dracula, Sun Wukong, Cthulhu, etc. who were only created or lived 2000 years ago not only lived in this world for countless millennia but even fought in wars 20, 000 years. It was all because time flowed differently in the two worlds.
“Now here’s my question to you Miko.”
Said Augustus.
“How did Samael came to be? Was he also manifested by the faith of the people of Earth or was he created by the Supreme Being himself?”
“……..”
This question immediately caused Miko to enter deep thought. He was unable to answer and remained silent.
“Heh. The answer is neither.”
“What?”
Augustus answer shocked him.
“Samael wasn’t created, he naturally came to be just like the Supreme Being. However, unlike the Supreme Being he is the source of evil in both worlds and influenced the tales about him.”
“Him naturally existing does make sense. I mean, I doubt the people of earth could even imagine death on their own, and the Supreme Being sounds like a benevolent person, so I don’t think he would create death either.”
Augustus nodded.
“As expected of myself. You’re pretty smart.”
He said with a laugh.
“Samael appeared naturally but that doesn’t mean that the Supreme Being didn’t influence his existence in anyway though.”
“What do you mean?”
“According to the Supreme Being, he believes that Samael and his twin brother are the manifestations of wickedness that he lacked.”
“That also makes sense. Samael is called the venom of god because he does the things that a benevolent being can’t do. He’s God’s executioner and the one who maintains the balance.”
Miko said.
“Wait.”
That’s when he realized something.
“Samael has a twin brother?!”
He shouted.
Augustus laughed.
“That’s the other one I wanted to warn you of.”
He faces turned serious.
“Earlier I told you that Samael and someone else erased the ancient gods, but I may have worded that wrong. They weren't erased, they were devoured. As a result their existence slow faded away in time on earth."
“Oi, why does this feel like Killo?"
Miko said.
“Hahahahaha! Killo is strong even I have to admit that. But what I’m talking about makes Killo looks like nothing but an infant.”
Augustus replied.
“The being that I’m talking about is a true monster.”
Augustus suddenly looked like he remembered something.
He took out a pen and paper and began to write down something. Miko watched as he wrote down five names on a piece of paper.
He then took the paper and gave Miko. He spoke as Miko read the names.
“This an official list of the top five strongest beings outside of the Supreme Being. Remember them closely and try your best to avoid them before mastering Deus Malum.”
The names on the list were as followed:
1. Devoro
2. Samael
3. Rias
4. Lilith
5. Azazel
“The being I wish to talk about is the one at the top of the list, Devoro.”
“……….”
Miko looked at the names with shock. Other than the #1 and #3 spots he knew everyone on the list.
“Lilith and Azazel…..If Samael exists then they naturally do too.”
He said.
Lilith was Samael’s wife and the mother of all demons, and was also the first vampire and succubus. Made from the same dirt as Adam, she was even the first woman, but because she was rebellious and independent she defied god and left the garden of Eden. Eve was created to be her more docile replacement.
She was considered the female personification of evil and ruler of the night.
Azazel was Samael’s loyal follower who was responsible for corrupting the world. A fallen angel who taught men the art of warfare, of making swords, knives, shields, and coats of mail, and women the art of deception by ornamenting the body, dyeing the hair, and painting the face and the eyebrows, and also revealed to the people the secrets of witchcraft and corrupted their manners, leading them into wickedness and impurity.
He was the angel of corruption, and the progenitor of sin.
Samael, Lilith, Azazel were the the unholy trinity that were responsible for the fall of man.
“Devoro and Rias….?”
Miko looked at the two names that he was unfamiliar with. They both caused his soul to shake, but for different reasons.
“Wait. Devoro is higher than Samael? Why?”
He looked up and asked.
“Allow me to explain. Samael came into existence naturally like the Supreme Being, however unlike the Supreme Being he wasn’t born alone.”
“He was born with a twin brother.”
Augustus nodded.
“I told you that the Supreme Being believe that Samael and Devoro were born to make up for the maliciousness he lacked. Yet, Samael was described as both good and evil, so he alone couldn’t carrying out his duties. He needed a companion.”
“That’s where Devoro came in.”
Augustus nodded.
“The two who were born from the same entity, Samael who was pure darkness, corruption, and death, and Devoro who was Pure savagery, destruction, and mayhem; together they form the Ultimate Evil.”
He explained.
“Even though the two were equal in power, Devoro has the edge because of the way he uses his power.”
“I see. So Devoro has more destructive force than Samael.”
Miko mumbled.
“You said earlier that they rival the Supreme Being, so why is there a war going on to decide the next Supreme Being? Isn’t it pointless since no one can defeat them besides the current Supreme Being?”
“Well, Samael and Devoro don’t have any interest in ruling this universe. They work with the Supreme Being to maintain balance. Creation and destruction. Life and Death. They only care about maintaining that balance. At least that was the case. The two rebelled against their roles on two separate occasions and were both put down by the Supreme Being.”
Augustus said.
“Samael destroyed the world the first time millions of years ago, but was sealed into the coffin by the Supreme being. Devoro was sealed away in the space between dimensions the same day I died by the Supreme Being as well. In fact, other than the #3 Rias, every member of the top 5 were sealed away by Supreme Being.”
“If they’re sealed away, why do you need to warn me?”
Miko asked.
“Haven’t you read a lot of manga in your life? If something that can threaten the world is sealed away, surely it will see the lights of day again. We’re possibly facing something like that pretty soon.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Because I believe that's one of the goals of New Era. They wish to break the seals on these four monsters.”
“Sounds interesting. I might want to do that too.”
Miko replied.
“Don’t even joke about that. You don’t know, but Devoro is one of the main reasons I lost back then. He came to retrieve the sealed Samael who I locked away and almost destroyed both sides doing it. If Rias hadn’t stalled him when she did, we would be deader than dead.”
Augustus replied.
“If you’re still not convinced about how terrifying Devoro was, then know this. You know the Beast of Revelations? The 666 monster? That was inspired by Devoro.”
“Well, fuck.”
“Yes, fuck was the same word I shouted when I saw him split open the world in two with a swing of his hand.”
Augustus said.
“Now that you get it, then be sure to crush anyone you come across that wants to free it or any of the other three.”
Miko nodded.
“I got it, but I want to ask you something. Devoro and Samael, are they Irregulars? Since they were born outside of the laws of the universe.”
“Oh? You realized that.”
Augustus nodded.
“They’re the first Irregulars. The Supreme Being isn’t considered one, since he and the universe were born simultaneously. Samael Irregular Title is True Death, while Devoro’s is True Monster. I heard that their Irregularities are Infinite Death and Infinite Destruction respectively. I believe what kind of abilities are those are self-explanatory.”
“I see. Then my need to make this demand is justified.”
Miko stretched out his hand.
“Your Irregularity, Conquest give it to me.”
“What?”
“Your ability to conquer everything under the heavens will come in handy when fighting New Era. I want it.”
“I can’t just give you my irregularity. Conquest is mines and mines alone. You won’t be able to control it unless we fuse, and I don’t want to do that yet.”
Augustus protested.
“I see.”
Miko’s hand then stabbed into his chest and pulled out a white orb.
“Then I’ll take this ability as consolation, and I wont be taking no for an answer.”
“How did you-?!”
Miko smiled.
“I’m you remember. I take what I want, even from myself.”
“Hahaha! Well said! Take it! But if you still end up dead after taking it, I wont let you live this down.”
“Don’t worry. Ruler’s Contract will be put to good use.”
