“What? You can see in the future?!”
Miko said in shock.
The power to see in the future was the most convenient power one would ever want.
There's no need to mention how many advantages someone who can see the future would have in life.
“Can you really see the future?”
Miko asked in disbelief.
“Not exactly. What I see is the countless possible futures.”
Said Mayumi.
“Meaning?”
“Meaning that I can see every possible future a person may experience in their life.
“That's amazing.”
Said Regis.
But Mayumi shook her head.
“It isn't as convenient as it sounds. I see too many possibilities at once, so it's impossible to know for sure what future will come true.”
“Then is it possible to narrow down the number of futures to those with the highest probability?”
Miko asked after thinking for a while.
Mayumi nodded after some hesitation.
“I can narrow it down to the five futures with highest chance of coming true.”
“So you have a 20% chance of seeing the right future.”
“Sometimes the five futures I see overlap at some points. When that happens, it's destined to happen.”
“Have there ever been an event where all five of the futures with highest probability were wrong?”
She shook her head.
“Never. My ability seem to make sure that doesn't happen. Because of that when I use my ability I have to prepare for five possible futures which is extremely hard to do.”
She then smiled and looked at Miko and Bloom alternatively.
“If you want, I can look at the future between two of you?”
“?!”
Bloom immediately became flustered.
As for miko, he became interested.
“You can search the future for specific things and events?”
Mayumi nodded.
“It's a bit harder, but I can do it.”
“Impressive.”
Miko smiled.
“Then do it, but don't tell me.”
He pointed at Bloom.
“Tell her.”
Mayumi started laughing when she heard Miko's request.
She thought that it was extremely interesting.
“Then I'll do that.”
“Hey, I never said I wanted to know.”
Bloom protested.
“Don't be so boring. How about I do it so only you will know?”
“Only her? You can do that?”
Miko asked.
“Yup. I have three ways to read the future.”
She lifted up one finger.
“One is mediation. I just need to focus and the events from the multiple futures will enter my head at a moderate rate.”
She lifted another finger.
“The second is auto-write. I enter a trance and write down the events of the futures on something. When I do this I won't have any memory of what I saw unless I read what I wrote.”
She lifted a third finger.
“The last one is projection. I can send the future events I saw to those around me so that they could also know the future.”
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“This ability is too amazing. If used right, it could become a great support type ability.”
Miko said with a impressed tone.
“So how about it Bloom? I can use my auto write method and you'll be the only one who knows the future between you two.”
Said Mayumi.
“….Fine.”
Bloom said after much hesitation.
“However, just the upcoming months. I don't want to know what will happen in the next couple years. It will just make me paranoid.”
“Boo~. You're no fun.”
Mayumi said with a frown.
“Well, I guess it'll work for now.”
She then suddenly took out a piece of paper and placed it in front of her.
“You guys turn around and face the other way.”
She instructed Miko and the others.
They all listened to her except, Ishma.
“You're not the boss of me—ow!”
She was hitting in the head by Miko and then forcibly turned her around.
“Okay, let's get started.”
She then started to focus on Bloom and Miko.
She stared at them so hard that it looked like she wanted to see into their souls.
It was then her eyes looked like they lost all focus, as a gold light was traveling through them.
She then bit her finger, and made it bleed.
*Bam!*
She slammed the finger on the table and started writing using her blood as ink.
She wrote at an incredible write, it didn't take even a minute for her to fill out the enter letter sized page with sentences.
After she finished, she pushed the page towards Bloom and took out four more pages.
Mayumi then filled out the pages like her hands were moving at the speed of light.
After nearly another minute passed Mayumi filled out five pages of the possible futures between Miko and Bloom for the next couple months.
Bloom took a deep breath before she looked at the papers.
She read the first paper quite carefully; there were parts that made her laugh and even frowned.
“?!”
That's when something caught her eye.
She quickly put down the paper and looked at another one.
“….It's here too.”
She looked at another one.
“And here.”
And then another one.
“And here!”
She started to panic as she looked at the finally paper.
She then lifelessly put the papers on the table in front of her.
“...No way.”
“So what did the papers say?”
Miko turned around and asked.
Bloom immediately immediately used her powers to make the papers float, before crumbling into a ball. The paper ball got smaller by the second before disappearing completely.
No she had used gravitational force to reduce the paper ball to the size of an atom.
“N-Nothing! It didn't say anything particularly bad or good about us.”
She said with a flushed face.
Anyone could tell that she was lying.
As for what the papers said, Miko didn't know but he had a few ideas.
If it's what he's thinking, then he was looking forward to when the day would come.
“I suddenly feel the urge to see what I wrote.”
Mayumi said after seeing Bloom's flustered behavior.
“I said there was nothing worth mentioning on it!”
“Yeah, yeah. If you say so.”
After teasing Bloom a little, they all finally ordered what they want to eat.
They were all surprised at the amount of food that Miko, Regis and Ishma ordered.
The amount was so huge that their food alone took up most of the table that was meant to seat over a dozen people.
This naturally drew a lot of attention, especially when they started eating.
People who were watching sworn that the food just disappeared before their eyes, because they couldn't see the movements of their hands.
The three took only a few minutes to finished off their buffet, while Kaido, Bloom, and Mayumi were barely half way through their normal sized meals.
“Damn…”
Mayumi couldn't help but mutter.
“What? I burn 2000 calories an hour. I have eat this much otherwise I'll starve in a day.”
Miko defended himself.
“Besides, I'm eating for three.”
“….That sounds like something a pregnant woman would say. It's even more dangerous when you look like you do.”
Said Bloom.
Miko didn't respond to her and ordered even more food.
“…..What about you Kaido? Do you want to see your future?”
Mayumi asked as if changing the topic.
Kaido shook his head at her question.
“The future has no meaning to me. What happens, happens. That how I see it.”
He answered in monotone.
“Come on. It's really beneficial to know even a glimpse of what's to come. Aren't you even a little bit interested?”
Mayumi pressed on.
“Of course there are things that I would like to know, but it has nothing to do with my personal future.”
“Meaning, you would like to know the fate of someone else?”
Kaido nodded.
Mayumi suddenly looked dejected.
“I'm sorry, but unless I know the person and is looking at them, I can't predict their future.”
She also couldn't forcibly look at someone's future. She needed permission from the person first, or it won't work.
Because of these restrictions, Mayumi’s ability wasn't really good at stuff like espionage, as she couldn't spy on someone's future movements.
“If that's the case, then I'll have to pass.”
Said Kaido.
Mayumi looked dejected again.
She then turned to Miko.
“What about you, Your Majesty.”
“Getting my future read, huh?.....sounds interesting.”
“You should totally do it. If you want I can write it to you so that I wouldn't know.”
“Nah, where's the fun in that.”
Miko replied.
“Read it out to me.”
“Is that okay?”
“Of course. I believe I'm someone who can always change their future, so having others know isn't a big deal to me.”
Miko said with a smile.
No matter the future Mayumi sees, he had full confidence that he can alter it as he wishes.
After all, Miko didn't believe in the thing called fate or destiny. Your future is something you mold with your own hands after all.
Although he didn't really believe in fate, he was pretty interested in what Mayumi would see.
“Okay, since you insist.”
Mayumi then started focusing on Miko.
She focused on his entire existence until she started seeing light emitting from him and into her eyes.
Images started racing in her mind without pause.
First they were blurry but as time went by, the became crystal clear.
And then, she could seeing the possible futures.
“?!”
The resulted made her tumbled from her seat and fell on the floor.
“Mayumi, are you alright?!”
Bloom quickly went beside her to pick her up, Mayumi just wouldn't budged.
She stared at Miko with a very frightened expression. It was like she was looking at the most terrifying thing in the world.
“What the hell are you?….”
She mumbled.
“Mayumi, what did you see?”
Bloom asked.
“I-I can't describe it. The only thing I could see was hell.”
“Hell?”
She nodded.
“Destruction everywhere. Corpses covered the land. Blood flowed like rivers throughout the world. Millions in despair.”
Her body trembled as she spoke.
She then looked up at Miko and-
“After turning into a monster never before seen, you will lose everything and suffer unimaginable pain. Starting with the one you love the most.”
What Mayumi said made Miko frown greatly. Even though he believed one could form their own destiny, it bothered him how confident Mayumi was of her words. It was as if she had seen it in all five futures.
She didn't stop there. She looked at him with pity and said-
“.....Also....You'll be betrayed by your oldest friends and die at the hands of their savior.”
