Julio looked at Lennox in front of him and frowned.
‘Well, isn’t this bad? The guy I really wanted to avoid until it’s time for him to leave the game, is right in front of me.’
Julio thought.
‘Now then, let’s quickly review my options. I could fight both him and Kirin but I’ll definitely end up dead. I can offer to form an alliance with him to crush the Dragna Clan, but he’ll most likely reject. That leaves me with one option.’
Julio smiled and took Lennox hand and shook.
“I’ll defeat all of you and survive this war.”
“Oh? I’m looking forward to that.”
Lennox said with a grin.
He then released Julio’s hand and looked at Kirin.
“Let’s go.”
Kirin looked at Julio for a bit before flying in the opposite direction.
“………”
Julio eyed him until he could see him disappearing out of his sight.
“Julio.”
Lennox called out to him.
“I’m looking forward to how your involvement will make this war even more exciting.”
After saying that, Lennox took off as well, leaving Julio behind.
“You’re looking forward to it?”
Julio grinned.
“For some reason that way you talk as if you’re superior to me pissed me off.”
He clenched his fists tightly before sighing and relaxing his body.
“You want to see what I can do? Fine by me.”
A dangerous look appeared in his eyes.
He waved his hand and a rusty, crude looking gate appeared out of nowhere. It opened up and revealed a hellish world of fire and darkness. Countless Beastly wails could be heard coming from inside it, along with a thick sinister aura. Immediately after two similar gates appeared beside it.
“I’ll burn this entire continent to the ground.”
If anyone was ask what was the biggest fault of the man known as the Demon Tactician Julio Zebul, they would receive this answer.
“He has a bad temper. It’s so bad that once he gets angry he won’t stop until he destroy the target of his anger.”
Now if you were to ask that same person when is Julio his strongest. They would answer this-
“When he’s angry. It’s only then that he shows qualities worthy of his title as the Scripture which preach cruelty.”
Countless thick black hands started to emerge from the gate.
“Now then, let the real war begin.”
Meanwhile, Lennox and Kirin headed back towards the Eastern Region.
“Why did you make us retreat, Lennox?”
Kirin asked.
“With the two of us there, we could’ve killed that bastard.”
Lennox didn’t answer immediately and frowned. After a while he spoke.
“Say, Kirin. Have you ever hunted before?”
“Huh?”
The sudden strange question caught Kirin off guard.
“Hunting. Animals, magic beast, monsters, anything can do.”
Lennox answered.
“Y-Yeah. I did when I was a kid training to be a warrior.”
Kirin answered.
“Then have you ever cornered your prey leaving them no chance to escape?”
Kirin nodded.
“Then you’ve must have seen it, how dangerous cornered beast can get.”
“Are you saying that if we had cornered Julio we would’ve been in trouble?”
Kirin was skeptic.
“Are you saying that you’re confident that you would’ve won if the fight had continued?”
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
Lennox asked back.
Kirin was immediately reminded of the strange eerie feeling that Julio gave off before Lennox interfered. He had to admit that he felt threatened for the first time in a long time.
Even so he spoke with confidence.
“Hmph. I would’ve won if you hadn’t interfered.”
“…..I see.”
Lennox then smiled.
“Then I’m sorry for interrupting your fight.”
He said, but on the inside he thought something else.
‘That aura that Julio was giving off. It’s feels like I’ve encountered it somewhere before. Either way, he might would’ve really killed Kirin if I hadn't stepped in.’
He smirked.
“This is getting really interesting.”
He laughed joyfully.
“Come on, let’s hurry. There’s a huge party going on in the Dragna Empire!”
Meanwhile in the Dragna Empire.
“………”
Miko laid on the ground looking at the sky.
He could smell smoke all around him, and didn’t need to look around to know that the palace was in shambles.
“Even after I said that losing the capital would negatively affect the citizens morale, they still went and destroyed it.”
Miko sighed.
“I swear, if I still had my emotions I would be seriously pissed right about now.”
He said.
“Now then, I need to analyze the damage we’ve taken.”
He opened a telepathic channel with those around him.
“Raven, were you able to bring the citizens to a safe location?”
(Yeah. I transferred them all to the Primus world.)
Miko receive a telepathic response from Raven.
“Momo, how much damage has the city taken?”
(It was leveled. There isn’t a building standing anywhere in the capital. Even the Flameheart and Saevio residences that were in different spaces were leveled.)
Momo responded.
“All that work and money gone down the drain.”
Miko said.
“Old Man, where are the enemies?”
(They’re all still in the capital. We’re currently facing off with them.)
Nero responded.
“Good. The only way to restore the citizens faith in us is to kill a big name on the enemy’s side to show them that we’re not push overs.”
Miko said.
“That being said, all Dragna troops your mission is simple.”
Miko’s voice broadcast to everyone in the city.
“Search and destroy!”
“Yes sir!”
Everyone responded in unison.
“Alright.”
Miko sat up.
“Time for me to do some work.”
His eyes lit up and he scanned the area searching for a target.
“There.”
He sprung to his feet and immediately accelerated in a certain direction.
“Hm?”
Touma who was searching for enemies to fight suddenly felt something approach her. She turned around and saw a blade only a few inches from her face.
“?!”
She desperately bent her back and avoided it. Even so, her forehead was sliced.
She threw a kick while bending backwards to kick the attacker back. But instead, her leg was caught and was twisted.
“Ugh!”
She groaned and used her other foot to attack the attacker, but her foot hit air as the attacker escaped.
“Who?!”
Having her attacker distance themselves from her and giving her breathing space, Touma was finally able to get a look at her attacker.
“Who is this child?”
She said while looking at Miko.
“Ah, you’re that heavenly demon king.”
She said after recognizing the face.
“The Dragoness Touma, I presume.”
Miko said.
“I’ve decided to take your life.”
He pointed the bloodstained Ishma at her.
“Touma, be careful.”
Paige appeared out of a shadow and said.
“He’s a very dangerous brat.”
“I can see that.”
Touma replied.
‘How was he able to sneak up so close to me without me realizing?’
Touma thought.
‘With my superior senses, I can sense everything around me for several kilometers. Even those using Stealth or Stealth Camouflage can’t fool my sense to such an extent.’
Even if someone was to use assassination techniques against Touma, she could still pick them up. That was because she was born with god-like senses. Even if they made it impossible for her to capture them with her five senses, she could still sense their bloodlust, desires, or even their emotions themselves.
‘Every living thing have desires and emotions, I can feel those with my skin; yet, the only reason why I sensed that boy attacking me was because the air around me had an unnatural change. Even then, I could only sense him when he was inches away. How is that possible?’
She asked herself.
“Miko was it?”
She spoke to Miko.
“I have a question.”
“Denied.”
After Miko said that he rushed to attack her again.
“Tsk.”
She got irritated by his attitude and moved to attack him.
She threw a punch which was a faint and was preparing to kick him in the head.
“Huh?”
However, Miko didn’t fell for her faint and moved to counter the kick with a palm strike to her pivot leg. Touma was thrown off balance, but she twisted her body and flung her elbow downwards.
But, this also missed Miko who immediately entered her blind spot and hit her from behind with his sword.
“Ugh….”
Touma distanced herself and looked at him weirdly.
‘This brat….he can read my movements?’
She thought to herself.
Miko silently looked at her with sharp eyes. She took a step forward, however he didn’t make a move.
‘He didn’t respond to the faint. Then…’
Touma sprinted towards him and released her claws. Miko stood in place and watched her charge at him. That’s when Touma suddenly jumped to the side.
The moment she did, Miko was already in front of her.
‘As I thought!’
Touma smiled and thought.
She swung her claws with all her might. When Miko saw that, he immediately retreated.
*BOOM!*
The air pressure of Touma swinging her claw caused an overwhelming shockwave that blew away countless rubble in every direction.
Miko who avoided the shockwave before it formed, stood pretty far away from Touma.
“Hahahahaha!”
Touma suddenly started laughing.
“As I thought, you were observing my muscles. That was how you were able to read my movements, by watching my muscles.”
She pointed at Miko and said.
“……….”
Miko didn’t say anything and just kept watching her.
“The reason why you retreated back now was because you saw that I was about to produce massive power; power that you might not be able to avoid if you’re too close.”
What Touma said was the truth. Miko was observing her muscles to read her movements and how much power she was about use and estimate the possible force she was going to create as well.
“Hey, Miko. Are you even a person anymore?”
Touma asked.
“You have absolutely no desires whatsoever and peerless analytic abilities. You’re more of a machine than a person to me. I feel no life from you, like I’m looking at a doll; because of that I was unable to sense you approaching me. It was more like a cold bullet than a person when I sensed you at the last minute.”
“Thanks for the compliment.”
Miko responded.
“Hahahaha.”
Touma laughed.
“I like you. I can see why my father wishes to fight you in the future.”
“Father?”
“World Eater, Killo. He’s my papa.”
“Is that so?”
Miko said with a blank face.
“Hey, hey. Could you be a bit more surprised? I’m pretty sure that you were traumatized when you fought him, and his daughter is standing in front of you. Doesn’t that make you feel anything?”
“Nothing.”
Miko responded without second thought.
“It’s just like what you said earlier, I can’t feel anything. That includes excitement or fear.”
Touma frowned.
“Well, that’s a bit disappointing.”
She said.
“Yet…”
The look in Miko’s eyes changed for a split second.
“I’m a bit interested in how strong Killo’s daughter is.”
Touma was surprised to hear him say that, but she soon smiled.
“Well, then. Let me show you.”
