Aloe Falls

The Aloe Kingdom, Royal Castle.

King Kaju was sitting on his throne with a pale face. He looked down on the man who was kneeling in front of him.

He was a short, skinny man who looked quite fragile. He was the third General who was sent to conquer the Dragna Kingdom, Timon.

“Repeat that again, Timon.”

Kaju asked.

“Yes sir.”

Timon then began to recite what he said earlier, without lifting his head.

“We were led into a trap planted by the Heavenly Demon king. He was no lamb, but a terrifying beast. He led a small group of soldiers and decimated half of our army. After slaying General Rico, he then used his real army to wipe out the other half of the army. I got wind of his ploy, and escaped before it was too late.”

He said.

“………”

Kaju was eerily silent for a very long. After a while, he let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair.

“The grandchild of a monster is a monster as well, huh.”

He muttered.

“Your majesty, your orders.”

Timon said with a resolved expression. If his king ordered him to fight to death, he surely would without second thought.

The only reason he fled from the battle earlier was because he knew that someone needed to inform the king of the new development. Now that he has completed that duty, he was ready to undertake another one.

Seeing how iron-willed his General was, the king’s mood improved. He stood from his throne and gave his order.

“Timon, I want you to evacuate everyone in the Royal Family and go to our allies in the south!”

“My king, and what about you?”

“Me?”

He walked down his throne with a big grin on his face.

“I’ll stay with the rest of the Generals and face the enemy.”

“My king, please allow me to stand with you!”

Kaju shook his head.

“I need someone I trust to watch over my wife and children.”

He walked up to Timon and placed his hand on his shoulder.

“And there is no one I trust more than you, Timon.”

“My King….”

“Oh? The bromance is strong in this one.”

“?!”

Suddenly the two heard an unfamiliar voice, and quickly looked at the source.

Sitting on Kaju’s throne was a young girl (?) with azure hair.

“Who are you?!”

Timon stood in front of his king and unsheathed his sword.

“What’s this? You’re trying to take over my country, but didn’t even bother to check what I look like?”

A cold smile appeared on their face.

“Well, aren’t you arrogant?”

“Heavenly Demon King, Miko.”

Said Kaju.

“Bingo.”

“Get off of my king’s throne!”

Timon pointed his sword and shouted.

“And why should I obey you?”

Miko looked at him coldly and responded.

Timon glared at him, but Miko no longer acknowledged his presence.

“King of Aloe, you must be wondering why have I appeared before you, and alone at that?”

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t.”

Said kaju.

“You see, I am a man of principle. It’s my policy to treat others the way they treat me, times a hundred of course. Meaning that if you treat me kindly, I’ll will treat you with with 100 times that kindness. Of course it’s same thing if you treat me harshly.”

Miko smiled. This smile gave Kaju a bad feeling.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“A month ago, you sent an envoy with the proposal of my country becoming a colonial state of yours. I would like to return the favor, but as my policy states, I must return it 100 fold.”

He stood up.

“As such, I didn’t send a mere envoy. I came myself. And of course, I can’t give the same proposal.”

The alarms in Kaju’s head started going off when he saw the cruel smile on Miko’s face.

“My proposal is simple.”

Miko’s next words echoed inside Kaju’s soul as if it were the words of the grim reaper.

“Become a slave nation to my country, or die.”

“?!”

Kaju’s face instantly paled.

A slave country was as the name implies, the people of that country were all slaves to another country. They couldn’t resist any order, no matter to what. Not only that, citizens of the master country were all ranked higher then any citizen of the slave country, even the king.

Most people from slave countries would be used for all kinds of cruel tasks. The most common ones were sex slaves and human shields on the battlefield. Of course, how slave countries are used depends on the head of state of the master country, like its king.

If the king was kind, the country might not experience anything terrifying. But if the king was evil, then the country would surely suffer and ultimately be destroyed.

Basically for Slave countries, their life depends on their masters. It was a horrible way to live.

If the rumors surrounding Miko were true, then Kaju was certain that his country would suffer under his rule.

Frustrated, he clenched his teeth and spoke.

“You’re pure evil!”

“I beg to differ. I did an online quiz once, and it said that my alignment was Chaotic Neutral.”

Miko casually replied.

Kaju gritted his teeth as he watched how casual Miko was.

“We refuse!”

Before he could voice his displease, Timon did it for him.

“Is that true, Aloe King?”

Miko asked.

“That’s right. The Aloe Kingdom will never bow to anyone!”

Kaju roared.

“Hmm….I see.”

Miko turned his back to him.

“Then I’ll have to destroy your kingdom then.”

He snapped his fingers.

*BOOM!*

That’s when an explosion could be heard just outside the castle.

“Y-You! What did you do?!”

Kaju shouted.

“Oh, that? I just gave my army the go ahead to destroy this capital of yours.”

Miko replied.

Outside, Momo and rest of the team had started to randomly attack the city, quickly leveling it.

They mercilessly destroyed any opposition that stood in their way, while destroying the city.

“To be honest, Kaju. I never really wanted to enslave your country. I just wanted to fuck with your head.”

Miko suddenly said.

“I wanted you to imagine the horrors that you might’ve caused his country to suffer. But, I knew that you would regain your courage and oppose me. I mean, your Mayumi’s father after all. She had to inherit her stubbornness from someone.”

Miko laughed after he said.

“Mayumi? Did you say Mayumi?!”

Kaju shouted frantically.

“I did.”

Miko replied.

“I thought she died when Grim City was destroyed! Where is she now?!”

Kaju asked.

‘Oh, is he worried about her?’

Miko smirked.

“She’s here as well. Unlike you idiots, I saw the true value in her abilities.”

Miko said.

“She’s here?”

Kaju looked a bit absentminded when he heard that.

‘Hmm…..I see.’

Miko nodded his head for some reason.

“You see, Mayumi asked me to make her entire family bow before her. What do you think about that?”

He asked.

“…..I see. She still hates us.”

Kaju muttered.

“My king….”

Timon placed his hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

“Interesting. It seems that you have regrets about Mayumi.”

Miko said with a curious smile.

“Well, not that I care.”

Miko pulled Regis from his waist and walked towards the two.

“Halt! Don’t come any closer!”

Timon blocked Miko’s path.

“What a loyal General. I’m a bit jealous.”

Miko said with a laugh.

“But sometimes loyalty will lead only to death.”

The moment Miko said that, Timon saw something flash before his eyes. The next he knew, red liquid was floating in front of him.

*Thud!*

When he looked on the ground he saw his arm laying in a pool of blood.

“I-Impossible!”

Timon held his severed arm and said.

The current Miko was still fused with Lahmu. Which meant his strength was at Upper XXX Class, even if temporarily.

Timon who was only an ordinary XXX Class couldn’t compare.

“King kaju. No matter what you do, today is the last day of the Aloe Kingdom. Even if you mobilize the remainder of your military strength, you’ll lose.”

Said Miko.

He pointed his sword at kaju.

“I can kill you here and take the kingdom, but in consideration for your daughter I’ll give you a chance. A real one this time.”

He looked at kaju with cold eyes as if he was already dead in his eyes.

“Surrender or both you and your people will face true destruction. This is an one time offer. I advise you to think clearly before answering.”

“Don’t give in, My King!”

*BOOM!*

Miko slapped Timon with his backhand and sent him crashing into the wall.

“Silence. This is a conversation between kings.”

Miko turned at him and looked straight in his eyes. The moment their eyes locked, Timon could feel his entire existence being devoured. It was as if Miko's eyes were a bottomless abyss sucking in his soul.

It was at this moment Timon realized something.

The person, no the thing standing in front of him was not something this kingdom could handle. He was something that mustn’t be provoke, a true monster.

Timon immediately lost all will to defy Miko. Even if he was to try to kill him, Timon was certain he wouldnt resist.

“……….”

Seeing his friend in such a state, Kaju couldn’t help but feel helpless.

Outside the castle were people destroying his nation, and in front of him was a monstrous child. He didn’t know what to do other than sigh.

“This must be Mayumi’s retribution.”

He muttered.

“Not at all.”

Miko answered his mutter.

“I had always planned on destroy this country from the moment I knew of its existence. What I had planned was far more diabolical than what I’m currently doing.”

“How so?”

Kaju couldn’t help to ask.

“I was going to behead every citizen, no matter how many they were, and stake their heads on a spike.”

“?!”

When Kaju heard that, his knees started wobbling.

“For what reason?”

“Reason? If I had to give a reason, it would be because I wanted to send a message to the rest of the world.”

Miko placed his hand on kaju’s head.

“I wanted to tell them that I am here, and I’m coming for you. All of you.”

‘……This kid is heartless.’

Kaju thought.

“Well, thanks to your daughter I changed my mind.”

Miko said as he took back his hand.

“You should thank her. She had quite the effect on my life.”

“……….”

Kaju didn’t replay immediately as he tried to calm his breathing.

“Now then, King Kaju. Your answer.”

Miko went to the point.

“……We surrender.”

Kaju fell on his knees and bowed his head.

“The Aloe Kingdom is yours for the taking.”

Miko looked at the king graveling before him.

“I see. Wise choice.”

He snapped his fingers again. Immediately after Kaju could hear that the explosions had ceased.

“Kaju Shidou.”

He looked up Miko after he called his full name.

“As of now, you’re no longer a king. You’re nothing but a prisoner of war. That’s goes for your entire family by extension. Over the next couple days, you will turn over full authority of the Aloe Kingdom over to me. Do you object?”

“I do not. You’re free to do whatever you want.”

Kaju answered while still on his knees.

“Do what I want?”

A huge and sinister smile appeared on Miko’s face when he heard that.

“Of course.”

He turned his back to kaju and began to walk away surrounded by celestial aura.

“FOR I AM THE KING.”
