Thousands of feet above Grim City there was a metallic structure that served as the city’s moon.
Everyone could stay from anywhere in be city and see the structure by simply looking out the window. However not many knew that this structure was hollow inside.
There was also another thing no one knew.
Laying inside the hollow moon was a coffin-shaped silver capsule, hooked up to several tubes and cords.
Inside this coffin, Jin Makoto was in the middle of his cold sleep.
Time moved on and the timer on the coffin gradually hit zero.
*Pssh!*
The moment it did, cold vapor started being released from the coffin as its door slowly opened.
After a couple minutes, when all of the vapor was released from coffin, Jin Makoto slowly opened his eyes.
He sluggish got up and stood in the coffin.
“It’s been a while since I’ve dreamt of the past. I must be getting sentimental.”
He said while stretching his body.
He stepped out of the coffin and looked around.
“Gaia, how long have I been asleep?”
“5 months.”
A computerize voice answered him.
“6 months, huh? That means that it’s been a year since Miko entered the city. I wonder how much damage he caused while I was out?”
He walked towards his coat and picked it up.
“I guess it’s time I abandon this attire.”
He looked in the mirror.
“I should leave this mood as well.”
The moment he said that his hair turned gray, his eyes turned blue, and the gloomy atmosphere around him disappeared.
He had returned to his original appearance for the first time in years.
“It feels much better getting rid of that negative personality after so long.”
He pressed a button on his bracelet and his attire changed.
He was now wearing a gray V-neck shirt, stylish blue skinny jeans, and gray and blue boots. His necklace that had his three wedding rings on it was around his neck. His tattoo which he burnt off himself was also visible. Even his normally messy hair was well groomed with three short braids on the side.
The current Jin didn’t look a thing like how he normally looked.
“Now then, I guess I should pay my bosses’ a visit.”
He walked up to a strange looking platform and stood on it.
Soon after, Jin’s figure disappeared from the hollow moon. He once again appeared again in the 1st District.
“Hm?”
He looked around and had an amused look on his face.
“I can literally sense the bloodlust in the city the moment I stepped foot here. It’s like everyone is itching for a fight.”
He smiled a bit mischievously.
“I guess I should hurry up and start the show.”
He turned into a beam and shot towards Jun’s headquarters.
When he arrived at the headquarters he immediately barged in like he owned the place.
“Please wait!”
An assistant tried to block him, but he easily past her like he was a ghost. He kicked off the door to Jun’s office and walked in with a smile on his face.
In there he saw Jun behind his desk with Flow sitting across from him.
“Who the hell are you?!”
Seeing someone forced their way into his father’s office, Flow flew into rage and charged towards the intruder.
In response to the raging Flow, Jin-
“Sorry, but I’m not here to see you.”
*Bam!*
He simply lifted his hand in front of him, and Flow was hit by a powerful shockwave which robbed him of his consciousness.
“I’m here to see the almighty pillar.”
Jin stepped over the knocked out Flow and approached jun with the smile still on his face.
“Jun, my favorite pillar! How’s it been?”
“…..You’re Jin right?”
“Of course. Who else could it be if not your faithful lapdog Jin Makoto?”
Jin said as he took Flow’s seat and sat while putting his feet on Jun’s desk.
“I’ve seen you’re Day Form already but I think this is the first time I’ve seen you’re original appearance.”
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“Hehehe. You like?”
Jin spread his arms as if trying to show off his appearance.
“….Well, it’s definitely different from what I’m used to.”
“I guess I’ll take that as a compliment.”
Jin’s cheery, but mischievous aura gave jun a sense of dread for some reason. He was neither overly negative or overly positive; he was balanced. No, balanced wasn't the right word.
Reckless.
The current Jin gave off a feeling of recklessness like he had no worries or responsibilities.
Just freedom.
Reckless freedom.
“Where did you go all these months, Jin?”
Jun asked.
“Why does that matter? I’m my own person I can go where ever I feel like going.”
“Is that so?”
“More importantly I’m here to collect my debts.”
He stretched out his hand and said-
“My family or your head, pass one of them over now.”
“?!”
Jun was naturally shocked to hear what Jin said.
Even though Jin said it like it was no big deal, but to jun that was a tyrannical demand.
“What’s wrong? It’s a simple request. I’m sure you can easily fulfill it.”
Jin said with his hand still stretched out.
“What if I can’t give you either?”
“Hahahahaha!”
Jin suddenly burst out laughing in response to Jun’s question.
“You tell the funniest jokes sometimes, Jun.”
Jin said as he wiped a tear from his eye with a finger.
“Let’s say that hypothetically that you weren’t joking, I would then feed you your son’s heart and use his skull as a piss pot in front of you. Now since that’s just barbaric I’m sure none of us wants to see that.”
“Yeah….That would be disturbing.”
“Right? So let’s not play around and be serious.”
From start to finish Jin’s voice was carefree like he wasn’t threatening one of the leaders of the city.
Jun quickly determined that the Jin in front of him was just as reckless as Miko, if not more.
He stood from his seat and started to walk away.
“Follow me.”
“No problem. But first….”
He stretched out one of his fingers and golden mana started gathering at the tip.
And then-
*Boom!*
He fired a beam which flew through the wall and blew off the head of a sniper a mile away.
“Okay, let’s go.”
He got up under the eyes of the surprised jun and walked out the room.
Jun brought Jin down to an underground facility under his headquarters.
“There they are.”
He showed Jin five tanks filled with a strange liquid with five persons in them.
They were naturally Jin’s family, his parents and wives.
“Their resurrection is in the finally stages. We’ve encountered some problems but we’re very close.”
“Hm…Is that so?”
Jin showed no sentiment even while standing in front of his family.
This caused alarms to go off in Jun’s mind. In the previous years just showing Jin a progress report on how his family was doing was enough to subdue him, but now it didn’t feel like he cared at all.
This was what the Pillars used to keep him under control, if he lost all interest in it then there was nothing preventing him from rampaging around.
‘Did he figure out that we weren’t successful?’
Jun thought to himself.
“So…”
Jin turned and looked at jun.
“What do I need to do to obtain them?”
“What?”
“I mean you guys are purposely slowing down the process to complete their resurrection so that you can use me longer right? So I’m asking what I need to do get this over with once and for all?”
‘D-Did he misunderstood what’s going on here? It’s not that we purposely drew out the process, we simply can’t get it done because we lost the equipment to the Head Branch.’
Jun thought.
“Just so you know, I’m just doing one more job so choose wisely.”
Jin said with a casually tone.
His behavior made jun nervous because he had no way to know what he was thinking.
Even though Jin’s words were submissive, it didn’t feel that way at all. It felt like he was planning something.
Even so, jun couldn’t pass up the chance to acquire Jin’s power.
“One more job is more than enough. All I need you to do is to be our vanguard in this war.”
He said after much thought.
“Be your vanguard? Well, I thought as much. It’s a simple request.”
Jin said without much thought.
“So then I can go ahead and begin?”
“Begin what?”
“The War after course.”
Later that day, Jin stood on top of a building in the 1st district. He scan his eyes over the district with a smile on his face.
In his hand was a tablet that was displaying all of the events that occurred during his hibernation.
“Things went down practically how I expected it. The only exception was Luna targeting Bloom and Miko remaining quiet for half a year. Looks like Code Breaker is a better advisor than I thought. Well, him taking in Sapphire and rest of Silver Crow went as smoothly as I hoped.”
He threw the tablet off the building and ignored it while it fell to the ground.
“As for Luna and rest of the Pillars, they will be dealt with soon enough. For now it’s time to begin.”
He walked off the roof and fell towards the ground, however he turned into a beam of light and shot towards the 4th District.
When he arrived he stood in front of a pharmacy named Long’s. This was were the syndicate’s base was hidden.
“For the last six months the Pillars and the Syndicate have been building up their strength to rid the city of each other. And then there’s Exsul that’s like a vulture waiting on the perfect chance to feast on their prey.”
He laughed and walked into the pharmacy.
“Ah, welcome.”
He was greeted by a old couple who were full of smiles.
“Ah, goodnight elders. I’m not really a customer so there’s no need for you to get up.”
He said as he raised his hand to stop the old woman from attending to him.
“I just want to ask you two a question.”
“Please go ahead.”
Said the old man.
“Thank you in advance.”
Jin smiled and spoke.
“Hypothetically, let’s just say that there was a person who had lost everything that held meaning in their life, their family, friends, lovers, everything; now let’s say that person was given false hope that kept him going for years, but he was still unable to reconnect with another human being because of fear that he’ll lose them again and lived a miserable life of solitude? What if that person finally broke under that pressure and chose to not care about anything in this world anymore?”
Jin’s smiled grew wider.
“Tell me Elders, what is that person suppose to do now?”
“………”
The old couple were unable to respond to Jin’s question. They were too intimidated by the dangerous vibe he was given off.
Even though his smile looked sincere, it felt like a death god was smiling at them.
They quickly broke under this pressure.
“Die!”
The old couple drew high powered weapons and were preparing to fire at him.
However-
“Wrong answer, Elders.”
Jin had disappeared from in front of them and was walking away behind them.
“The right answer is to destroy everything around him and die in style.”
The heads of the old couple slid off their body and fell on the ground. Blood sprayed from their necks and stained pharmacy interior.
“Now then…”
Jin took a step forward and entire pharmacy building lit up in gold light.
“Makoto Tactics: Demolition!”
*BOOOOM!*
The pharmacy suddenly exploded and a giant pillar of gold light shot into the heavens.
This pillar was so bright that it made the night sky look like it had a sun suddenly appear. It was also so big that everyone in the city could see it clearly.
Of course this included the one itching for a fight for months, Miko.
“Hahahaha! Send word to everyone in Exsul.”
He showed a bloodthirsty look in his eyes.
“It’s war time!”
When Jun saw the huge pillar coming from the 4th District he couldnt but help but break out in cold sweat. He even strengthen his resolve to make his son survive this war no matter the sacrifice.
“It looks like he finally returned, that Jin.”
Said Sebas as he looked through the window.
“My lord.”
“Enough talk. Prepare for war!”
He ordered.
Luna said nothing and silently left to prepare her forces.
As for Gear-
“Shit, it started! Holy fuck, its about to begin!”
He started panicking while running around.
“Andre! Andre! It’s time for war! Holy Shit!”
Meanwhile Jin walked out of the destroyed pharmacy with a savage grin.
He spread his arms and shouted so loud that it was almost like the whole city could hear him.
“Now, let’s all get soaked in blood together! Kill, die, repeat! Let’s make even the devils in the hell look at us with disgust!”
Light started flying from his body and started to destroy everything around him. In no time the entire district was set ablaze with the screams of its people echoing through the night.
“Let’s all go to hell together!”
