Raja Kint and Exochos Kint meet with Martial Master while King Kint and Master A stay behind for the two girls.
“Competition is starting to get fierce,” says Martial Master, “I remember when I participated. And my time compared to your time is quite the difference.”
Exochos Kint responds, “This is just the start. Once we reach the top 8. There will only be the strongest left.”
Raja Kint asks, “Is the top eight obvious?”
Martial Master says, “Obvious? Hmm, pretty much. There are so many strong cultivators. I’d say the top eight here are all strong enough to win another year on their own. I’m excited to see the future of you kids. I’m also scared of that future.”
“Scared?” says Raja Kint.
“With so much talent there’s bound to be some reshuffling of powers. I’ve no doubt our sect can maintain our current position at the least. There’s no doubt King Kint will vie for a higher position. Oh well, that’s far into the future.” Martial Master casually waves his hand while laughing.
Raja Kint reaches the house and heads into his room for rest.
Lying down on his bed while looking at the ceiling. “Kyoot really surprised me with that performance. Depending on her matchup she could make the top 16. Guess it’ll be up to fate. Sucks for Rhode though. I heard some guys saying how that guy is one of the favorites to win it all. Guess they don’t consider me a threat for the top spot yet.” Raja Kint rolled over for some sleep.
The rest period peacefully passed.
Raja Kint walked outside to see Kyoot Kint and Rhode Kint. Rhode Kint seemed more down than usual. Kyoot Kint seemed a bit nervous. Raja Kint could understand both of them. One lost early on in the competition while the other barely scrapped by the last round. Although, Raja Kint didn’t think Kyoot Kint didn’t necessarily have no chance at all for top 16. It would rely on her matchup today.
They finally reached the arena and Raja Kint was on his own today. When he entered the area for the first time he noticed the small amount of competitors. At the start, there were nearly two thousand people that got cut down to 128 people. Now he was looking at just 16 people in this room and another room with only sixteen people. He suddenly noticed a familiar person. The tan boy whom he had fought with in the battle royale. The boy noticed him as well and waved. Raja Kint waved back.
Finding himself a spot to relax in he casually watched the upcoming matches. Exochos Kint won another match without worry again. Kyoot Kint lost her match this time. Raja Kint expected as much. Only the 16 strongest of the younger generation amongst the Bisuke Empire could advance from here. He took notice that the level of competition was truly shown here. As if there was a tall barrier for the top sixteen. He even watched the tan boy go out and win a hard-fought battle.
The difference was barely negligible there. Raja Kint even saw a familiar face in the match right before his own. The girl who went on about exercising devils fought. Showcasing incredible strength to barely pull through. She was definitely holding back when she fought me in Julchen City. I must’ve really angered her back then. Raja Kint smirks as he walks out to his name being called.
The sunlight brightly shone down as Raja Kint walked toward the stadium. Even at this stage there are a few who have showcased their superiority. Exochos Kint and the chameleon dude had quite easy fights. I should also be getting some traction now. Raja Kint walks onto the stage, meeting his opponent. A pretty girl with brown eyes and black hair.
“Ding. Ding. Ding.”
The girl erupts with a full-body kangaroo technique. Raja Kint could immediately tell that her hands would be sharp and her legs powerful. Beyond that he couldn’t tell much else. Doesn’t seem like there’s a defensive aspect. Well, nothing like diving in. Raja Kint lightly dipped forward and burst forward.
The girl jumped to the side. Raja Kint blinked his eyes multiple times.
“Did you just casually jump over ten feet,” asked Raja Kint incredulously.
The girl smiled as she jumped around. Raja Kint was surprised by her speed. He also felt a bit disappointed. Is she just going to hop everywhere? The girl closed the distance with a run… a quick run. Reaching Raja Kint quickly, her hands are shaped like claws as she slashes. Raja Kint throws a punch to counter. “Bang.” The girl’s arm was sent flying backward. Raja Kint watched as she leaned back then her left leg shot out. Raja Kint threw out a punch only to be knocked off his feet. “Wow.” Raja Kint didn’t expect so much power. He could even feel a slight pain.
The girl was surprised to see how Raja Kint took the kick. She didn’t waste a moment as she jumped after him. Raja Kint is more than happy for an aerial battle. The girl headbutts his chest to send him higher. Grabbing onto his shoulder to twist her body mid-air. Directing her kick toward him. Raja Kint frowned and crossed his arms. “Boom.” He slammed into the arena.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Jeez, your kicks are no joke.” Raja Kint lightly patted his arms.
With knitted brows. “Your body is something special. I’m curious how you made it so strong.” She smirked. “Your ki techniques must be sorely lacking. Am I right.” She began jumping back and forth. With ever-increasing speed.
Raja Kint cracked his neck. It’s nice to fight a girl besides all these dudes. Anyhow, it’s about time I finish this. Raja Kint began spiraling ki in his right hand.
“Kangaroo Dropkick!” The girl jumps forward until she’s about 6 feet from Raja Kint. She launches a dangerous full-speed jump toward Raja Kint. Raja Kint takes a step and punches forward. A heatwave ki leaves his hand. When the two attacks came in contact the girl was overpowered and sent flying.
Seems working on the condensing of the spirals has seriously helped. Like this I can make the first fist even stronger. And less dangerous to myself. He looks down at his fist to see small marks with no serious damage. He looked over at the girl. Blood trails from her lips, her piercing gaze seemed to want to see through Raja Kint. She got up and began to speedily jump around.
Raja Kint ran faster than before and intercepted a jump. He held his arms out to grab the kick. Seeing his arms the girl swiped her hands. Raja Kint wasn’t expecting to get clawed and suffered white marks across his arms and face as he backed away.
“Damn,” muttters Raja Kint as he felt pain. The speed at which she clawed him caught him by surprise. He watches as she jumps around him. Her kicks and claws are both dangerous. Of course this is because of her full body technique. He lightly taps his feet.
The girl jumps toward him for more attacks. Raja Kint is prepared as she sends a right kick forward. Raja Kint smoothly slides to the outside. Grabbing her ankle and thigh to flipping her through the air. He clenches his left fist and punches downward into her face. A heatwave ki rushing out.
“BANG!”
Raja Kint immediately punches down with his right arm. “Pow!” Thuds sounded out as the girl tries struggling free. After a few hits her technique disappeared and her body stops moving.
Raja Kint feels a presence behind him and quickly turns into an attacking stance. Looking face to face with the referee. The referee raised an eyebrow as Raja Kint relaxed his stance.
“Raja Kint wins this match,” says the referee while staring at Raja Kint. Raja Kint looks at the girl. Her face a bloody mess albeit clearly still alive. He casually exited the arena.
The referee called for the girl to be checked. Then taking a moment to look at Raja Kint’s back. Mumbling to himself, “Seems a dark horse for the top spot is here. That body is truly strong for an outer ki realm.” He looks toward where the girl was getting beaten. “Could anyone easily take those attacks of hers?”
Raja Kint walked into his area and waited for the remaining matches to finish. Surprisingly the only other eighth stage won a hard-fought battle for the top sixteen. Raja Kint had to admit the boy seemed quite talented. When an idea struck him. Brother broke through to the outer ki realm in one go. I’m sure with his body he would decimate this competition.
He and Exochos Kint left with the others. Master A staying back with Kyoot Kint.
Raja Kint asks King Kint, “Do you think my senior sister will be chosen?”
King Kint smiles, “She has a higher chance of getting picked than those in the top sixteen. People know she’s still a couple years short of the age limit. A stage beneath the strongest here. And an arrayist to boot with serious talent. She might have a chance comparable to the top eight possibly top four.”
Raja Kint sighed in relief.
“I’m curious how far you two will go. Would be amazing for you two to face off for the number one spot.”
Raja Kint stays inside his room when he’s called out one morning. He finds Empros Kint outside in the morning. Sitting in the mildew grass. Raja Kint walks next to him, says a greeting and sits down.
Empros Kint says, “What do you feel right now?”
“Nothing.”
“What do you feel toward life. Beyond this tournament, beyond the people you know now. What do you feel deep down.”
Raja Kint slightly narrows his eyes. “Why are you asking this question?”
“It’s important that cultivators understand themselves. Occasionally asking yourself these questions helps to understand yourself.”
“Understand myself? What is there to understand beyond why I do what I do.”
Empros Kint looks over. “Because looking past everything besides the cause can impact your cultivation.” Silence ensues for a few minutes.
Raja Kint says, “I feel sadness and anger—” he looks over “—Why call only for me. There are others that could use this advice.”
Empros Kint looks at the rising sun. “I see a younger me in you. A young me that had much potential and ruined it because of my inability to control emotions. I ruined my breakthrough into the limbo realm because I lost control of my emotions. Unknowingly I committed a sin toward myself. Halting me from advancing for decades as I searched to find myself.
“It was only until I asked myself questions to understand the emotions. And then controlled my emotions did I finally have the chance to break through again. Of course, my situation is unique. It’s not often a cultivator loses control of themselves during a breakthrough—” turning his eyes to Raja Kint “—Seeing similar emotions coursing through you. Whether you have control or not at this moment doesn’t matter. It won’t be accomplished overnight.”
Raja Kint didn’t think about what was said. Opting to enjoy the outside weather as today is the start of the top sixteen.
