60: Fighting a Ninth Stage

60: Fighting a Ninth Stage

Raja Kint looked toward the building. The boy had said that nobody present would be strong enough. Raja Kint didn’t believe that. The strongest present wasn’t even at the ninth stage. Even if they were he would still be confident.

He walked toward the array. When others saw this some decided to take a chance as well. Some of the array kids began discussing ways to breakthrough.

One of the girls turned to Kyoot Kint, “Your junior brother is really foolish. We all just watched the other guy get forced out even with such strong armor on.”

Kyoot Kint didn’t bother responding as she watched Raja Kint enter the array. Those from the Kint Sect didn’t think he would actually do anything. The prince and princess of the Kint Sect wore expressions of curiosity. As if they thought he might pull it off.

Raja Kint took his first step. Immediately, the wind ferociously whipped and slammed his body. His hair frantically flew through the air. This isn’t as bad as I thought. Although he also didn’t have any trouble here. Raja Kint pressed on through the wind.

There were a few who joined in. Taking their chances into their own hands. Yet, many didn’t even walk 10 feet before they were forced out. Raja Kint took another step. Officially reaching the halfway point. Truly strong, but this still isn’t enough. He didn’t stop like the first kid but seemed to still casually walk even at this point.

The boy with armor was shocked, “The wind becomes far stronger at that spot. I had to try and adjust myself before risking another step.” Many believed him as everyone who went in was forced back out. Besides one person, Raja Kint. The leader wearing blue and white gritted his teeth. While the yellow-clothed boy narrowed his eyes. Both took a step forward taking their chances in the Wind Tunnel.

Kyoot Kint watched Raja Kint raptly. Those final ten steps are the true reason this array has its name. You have to be careful.

Raja Kint finally reached the final ten feet. At this moment his senses were completely enveloped by the wind. It was only the wind he could feel, only the wind he could hear, only the wind he could taste. Inside the true wind tunnel, he casually walked. Ninth foot, eighth foot, seventh foot, sixth foot, fifth foot. Raja Kint calmly walked forward. The bystanders were shocked. They weren’t fools, they checked the cultivation of these kids and knew Raja Kint was at the seventh stage. They had never heard of a seventh stage breaking through the array. The weakest was an eighth stage.

The man who helped Raja Kint slightly smiled. Seems I’ve met a special kid.

Fourth foot, third foot, second foot, stop.

Raja Kint furrowed his brows. The wind at this point was truly unbearable. He couldn’t even keep his eyes open. The screams of the wind hurt his ears. He took a moment to stop but immediately began treading forth. With how strong the winds were here. He couldn’t even breathe in. Otherwise, he would be blown away in a flash.

Raja Kint decided to concentrate all of his ki on his legs. When he took his next step the earth sunk beneath his foot. One foot. With one step left, he raised his leg against the battering winds and stepped down.

“Fwah!” The sound of wind exited his ears. He took deep breaths, shocked at the danger of the wind tunnel. He was certain that if his body wasn’t at the tenth inner ki. He would’ve been blown away at some point.

“Jeez, you guys… really… don’t want to… lose your… loot,” said Raja Kint between breaths. He was at the bottom of the stairs leading to the house. The door opened to a short man standing there.

His eyes were wide as he stated, “Who took your belongings?”

“I’m here for my senior sister’s stuff.” Raja Kint pointed to Kyoot Kint.

The man looked over and yelled to the others inside. After a few moments, a woman with red hair, freckles and brown eyes appeared. Raja Kint could also tell she was at the ninth stage.

The woman lightly smiled, “Come on in.”

Raja Kint stood up straight and walked into the building. Everyone outside was shocked by this sight. The Head Array Disciple of the Lerup Sect could only mumble. “He’s going even farther ahead.”

The man in the crowd was surprised. He was really able to pass through the array!

A random voice sounded, “Did we just witness the first-ever seventh stage make it through? And he even made it look relatively easy?”

“Even if he’s not strong enough to beat his opponent. The bandits won’t possibly let him leave empty-handed.”

“They’ve truly hit a steel plate!”

Many in the crowd laughed together. Many of the kids present were shocked. The boy with the armor could only sigh. Seems there’s a genius amidst us.

Kyoot Kint was still worried. Raja Kint had to face off against a ninth stage. Everyone present heard what she said as well. Meaning everyone knew he was facing a ninth stage as a seventh stage.

Inside the building, Raja Kint was eating some beast meat. Quickly replenishing his strength. Next to him was a young boy.

“It’s incredible how you broke through the wind tunnel. What’s crazy is that you look younger than me.”

Raja Kint finished the meat in his hand and closed his eyes. Putting himself in an optimal condition. He wouldn’t dare underestimate a ninth stage who seemed to be at least three times his age.

The red-haired woman laughed as her friends said, “You should get the young man to stay. We have plenty of attractive young girls.”

“How am I to make him stay. With the talent he’s already shown today. Do you really think those big-timers will let him stay with us?” the red-haired woman asked with raised eyebrows.

Another woman responded with a wide grin, “We can just ask him is all.” She turned toward Raja Kint, “Boy. If you fancy any of the young misses here. You can have them.”

Raja Kint involuntarily opened his eyes to such a crazy comment. He stood up with a smile, “I’m so young, how can I focus on anything but cultivation?” He threw his arms to the side with his head slightly tilted to the right.

The woman chuckled, “Why don’t we make a bet.”

“Why would I make a bet?”

“You win, you get what you came for and one choice of anything you want here.” She pointed to the red-haired woman. “If she wins you have to take one of our girls here on your travels.”

Raja Kint raised an eyebrow, “You really think I’ll lose. But you don’t know me.”

“How strong can a seventh stage truly get,” said the woman with smiling eyes.

Damn, I know she’s playing me. But, how can I become stronger if I’m scared to make a bet here? “Deal.”

Everyone in the house was shocked to hear this. They could only shake their heads. A man said, “The arrogance of youth truly knows no bounds.

The two stepped into an open area. In the middle of the house is a small white-tiled area. A wall of ki sprung up around them so that they could fight without reserve.

The red-haired woman shot forth. Her right palm pressed forward with a light gold hue around it. Raja Kint spiraled some ki into his right fist and punched forward.

“Bang!”

The two held an even exchange. Raja Kint took a step for a better position. The woman slammed her left palm toward his chest. Raja Kint decided to take the punch to land a hit of his own. His right leg quickly shot out.

“Ugh.”

The woman stumbled backward with shock on her face. Raja Kint didn’t step back at all. Instead rushing forward while she’s off balance. The woman regained her balance at the last moment. Quickly sending out a palm. Raja Kint sidestepped to her right side. Because she hastily threw an attack her right leg held all her weight. Raja Kint threw a kick at her right shin. Forcing her off her feet. He then threw another kick at her face in mid-air.

She quickly brought her arms in as the kick landed. She flew backwards while Raja Kint quickly pursued. She landed again and quickly threw a kick. Raja Kint threw his own kick. He was shocked to see he didn’t have the upper hand. On her leg appeared the image of some breed of snake. She lashed out with more kicks. Raja Kint was forced backward under the barrage.

When the sixth kick landed Raja Kint quickly grabbed her leg. She brought her upper body forward and slammed her golden palm against his face.

Raja Kint dropped her leg sending a kick at her. He was too slow as her kick landed against his chest. He was forced back from the kick as she charged forward. Raja Kint gritted his teeth and sighed. He went forward and they evenly clashed. Raja Kint used the force to make distance.

He dropped into a stance. The woman narrowed her eyes. She raised her right palm and the golden hue became brighter. No longer resembling a hue but a glow that people would shield their eyes from.

Those watching were amazed by the turn of events. First, it was Raja Kint with the upper hand. Then the woman held the upper hand. Now they were about to send forth powerful attacks.

The short man said, “It seems she’s using that attack.”

“It seems the kid is done for. This attack will exhaust her but I’ve never seen anyone take it.”

The woman who made the bet furrowed her brows looking at Raja Kint. A girl beside her asked.

“What’s wrong?”

The woman assured the girl nothing was wrong. Then her eyes turned toward Raja Kint’s right fist. It seems the ki there is spiraling more than earlier.

Raja Kint had practiced the Fists of Devastation. It took him a while before he finally reached a small achievement in the technique. In his fist, the ki spiraled into a denser ki that could be made out. This denser ki currently had one complete spiral and traveled a bit more.

The woman’s hand continued to glow brighter. So bright that the cultivators in the building had to shield their eyes. Raja Kint narrowed his eyes. If I never met the old man then I wouldn’t ever have considered using ki on my eyes.

Raja Kint could tell he couldn’t get a second spiral. Showcasing how far he was from just the first fist of the technique. The true first fist would have a complete three spirals. Whereas Raja Kint could only get one complete spiral. Yet, this was more than enough. This technique was never meant to be executable by any below limbo realm.

Raja Kint stepped forward, as did the woman.

“First Fist of Devastation!”

“Buddha’s Palm First Light!”

The spiraling ki from Raja Kint’s attack unleashed a heat wave-like sight of ki. A golden palm separated from the woman’s palm. As if Buddha was seeking to light the path with just a palm!

“BAM!”
