63: Pill Emporium

“Ugh. That was something,” said Raja Kint as he opened his eyes. He looked around to find himself in his room.

“Hehe, you surprised everyone brat. To think you can already use law,” said Master A with a smile.

Raja Kint looked over while checking his body. Shock appeared in his eyes as he seemed to be in top condition. He checked the window to see an orange sky.

“It’s morning. You were out the entire night.”

Raja Kint nodded his head. “How long till we head out?”

“We still have about two hours.” Master A stood up and left the room.

Raja Kint thought back on what happened yesterday. The fight with the ninth stage. Being grouped against by the fellow contestants. People having his back in such a moment. Ending with the clash against a limbo realm. If I didn’t use law there we would’ve been crushed. Thankfully, he didn’t take us serious or attack with deadly intent.

Raja Kint began ruminating over his experiences. Becoming stronger through his experiences.

After some time, Raja Kint headed outside. The rustling of wind appeared as the yellow bird arrived. The bird lowered its head as the Kint Prince and Princess petted it.

“Everyone, hop on. King Alexander is almost ready,” said the Academy hHeadmaster.

Raja Kint walked over to the bird. Kyoot Kint appeared next to him. Walking by his side as they went to the two petting the bird. The princess turned toward them with a smile.

“Last night was truly an experience.” Her happy smile showed the excitement she must’ve felt in the moment. She continued, “We didn’t tell our names before. But I think you’re worth knowing our names. We are friends now after all.”

The prince calmly ruffled the bird’s large feathers. Unperturbed by his sister’s talking.

“I’m Rhode Kint. My brother is Exochos Kint.”

Raja Kint’s eyes momentarily wandered to the brother. This name meant: excellent. Showcasing the expectations his father placed on him. Quite similar to his own name meaning: ruler. The four hopped on the back of the bird as they began lifting off. Kyoot Kint and Rhode Kint continued talking while the two boys were quiet.

Rhode Kint says, “Raja Kint is really a loner. Kinda like my brother. He has no friends and trains all the time.”

“Exactly the same!” says Kyoot Kint. “Raja was even worse before this competition. I was the only friend he really ever had. Heck, if it wasn’t for me he probably wouldn’t even know you two.”

“I was shocked by how my brother stood up for him. He usually stays to himself and rarely shows his strength.”

With chattering ringing out through the air. A flying ship appeared above the congregation of participants. Raja Kint turned his eyes over. At the tip of the battleship. A single man stood there.

“Those of Alexander Country. We now move to Julchen City.” The man disappeared from the edge of the flying ship.

Raja Kint laid back and closed his eyes. This trip would take a few days.

Raja Kint is looking out in the distance. He can see the outline of a city. One of three region-class cities beneath the Bisuke Empire: Julchen City. The congregation flew into a large area not far outside of the city. Many attendants were calling for the seniors to come over.

Raja Kint looked around for a moment before closing his eyes.

A voice sounded in his ear, causing him to twitch in surprise. “Why are you sleeping? We’re in an incredible city.”

Raja Kint annoyedly opened his eyes. Meeting Rhode Kint’s eyes filled with a sparkle for the world. He closed his eyes again.

“You’re the same as brother, Jeez.” Pouted Rhode Kint.

The headmaster’s voice rang out, “everyone, follow me.”

Raja Kint hopped off the bird and followed the headmaster. They soon reached a white building. Entering the building the headmaster gathered everyone around.

“Alright, we’ll be here for a bit of time as well. As before you can venture out a bit. Do be careful. There are many powerful figures in this city. Many figures that the Kint Sect can’t afford to offend. Go find your rooms on the second floor.”

Raja Kint quickly dashed past everyone and chose a room in the back. Nobody else wanted a room so far back except for Exochos Kint. He ended with a room in between everyone else.

Raja Kint sat for a moment. I need to find the Pill Emporium for that shop. Then, maybe I can fight some more here? After lying for a bit he went downstairs.

Master A and the Martial Master were casually talking.

Raja Kint asked, “Do you know where the Pill Emporium is?”

Master A told him the directions.

“Thanks. Oh, is there somewhere I can test my strength here?”

Both of the teachers looked at Raja Kint.

Martial Master smiled, “You truly have the spirit of a martial artist. If only you would’ve joined me.”

Master A glanced at the Martial Master. “There is allowed fighting in the city. I’ll take you there tomorrow. It’s actually not uncommon for many young kids to go there. Looking for final tune-ups before the competition,” He paused for a moment, “if you cause a big enough fuss. You could pull out some stronger outer ki realms.”

Raja Kint raised his eyebrows, “Fuss?” Martial Master chuckled, looking at Raja Kint with a gleam in his eyes. Master A’s smile became very wide as he lightly pushed Raja Kint along.

“I’ll come find you tomorrow.”

Raja Kint nodded his head and left. Following Master A’s instruction he found the Pill Emporium. It was a luxurious shop with gold carvings on the outside. He walked down the right side of the building. He continued walking as the sun seemed not to reach this part of the alley. Finally, he found the aforementioned grate. Walking four paces past, he turned to search the nearly indiscernible wall for a discolored stone.

Just when Raja Kint was becoming annoyed. He found a stone slightly different from the others. It was discolored to where you wouldn’t notice from a glance. You had to look at the other stones for a while. Becoming used to their colors. Before you could notice the very slight discoloration stone.

Raja Kint knocked the stone four times. “Pill Emporium bless my health.”

“Vwoosh!”

Raja Kint felt his body become light before finding footing again. He looked around to notice he was inside a shop. He turned around to see no door. At this moment he felt his heart slightly beating. Was I conned?

A gruff voice sounded, “A child? How did you get here lad?”

Raja Kint turned around to see a short man about the same height as himself. And Raja Kint was only ten years old. The man had a slight belly, grizzly beard with gleaming gray hair down to his shoulders.

“I just knocked the stone and said the saying.”

“Why are you here?”

“I heard you sell storage rings and pouches.”

“Well, well. How much ya got?”

Raja Kint knitted his brows in confusion.

The man spat, “Money boy! Goddamn, what else would I ask ya for?”

Raja Kint wryly smiled. “Show me the best you have.”

The short man frowned. “This ain't a place to go sightseeing. I’m liable to kill you here and nobody would know.”

Raja Kint responded with a slightly cold voice, “Old man, I came to buy. Show me the bags or I’ll find someone else.”

The two held a staring contest.

“Hehehaha. You got guts for sure. Come with me.” The man led Raja Kint to a section with three shelves of bags and rings. The man stepped on air as he arrived at the highest shelf.

Raja Kint felt his mind tremble. Sky devourer! The man smirked as if he could hear Raja Kint’s thoughts.

He pointed at the two rings and three pouches on the highest shelf. “These are the top spatial items I have. Of course. At a minimum you’ll need to cough up a high-grade ki stone.” He watched Raja Kint for a reaction.

“So, which is the best?”

The man grabbed a purple pouch and tossed it over. “Nine high-grade ki stones.”

Raja Kint internally groaned. He didn’t have much money on him when everything occurred on his home planet. “What can I get with one high grade?”

The man smiled as he grabbed another pouch. The pouch is a dull yellow with faint white markings.

Raja Kint caught the yellow pouch and tossed the purple pouch back. He checked the space inside and saw how much room there was. This is more than large enough for me to fit everything!

“Nice face.” Said the man as he landed.

Raja Kint reached into the pouch on his hip and pulled out a high-grade ki stone. He tossed it over as the man caught it. When the man caught the ki stone. He immediately inspected it when a smile blossomed on his face. “Such a pure ki stone. It’s rare to see such quality. If you have more I’d be more than willing to give up some precious items.”

Raja Kint glanced at the man. “There are levels to a high-grade ki stone? I was randomly using them so this is the only one left.”

The man’s face became horrified. His eyes wide, mouth open in horror. “You wasted such beautiful things! If you weren’t a customer I’d strangle you boy!”

Raja Kint chuckled. “I’m sure I’ll find more.”

“Good luck with that.”

Raja Kint finally finished transitioning everything over to this pouch. He grabbed the pouch from his home planet. Trying to decide on what to do. The man looked at the pouch and his eyes widened.

“What material is this?” He walked over and took the pouch from Raja Kint’s hands. “There isn’t much space. But, this pouch could take a hit from even a sea devourer I’m sure”—his eyes narrowed—“If not, someone even stronger… maybe?” He looked at Raja Kint. “I’ll give you four high-grade ki stones for this pouch.”

Raja Kint looked at the pouch, longing in his eyes. The man noticed this and internally grumbled. “20 high-grade ki stones. There are sects in this world with not this much wealth.”

Raja Kint grits his teeth. This pouch is a piece from my home world. But, I do have father’s ring and the patriarch’s pouch with me.

“Forty high-grade ki stones.”

Hearing that Raja Kint had a feeling. Was this bag worth more than he realized? This man kept raising the price so fast. Raja Kint looked at the man with a suspicious look.

“You know this pouch can take an attack from a sea devourer and yet. You still want to short me on my money?” Raja Kint said with a half smile.
