Raja Kint enters a small building within the Shizen military grounds. On the wall are his new garments to better fit in with the tribe. His entire outfit was made from leaves and vines. The dye was extracted from purple flowers. Giving Raja Kint a regal look.
The Chieftain wanted him to feel respected, Raja Kint could feel the sincerity.
He steps out of the building to see the Chieftain sitting on a chair. The Chieftain turns his eyes toward Raja Kint and nods before setting off.
Raja Kint looks out over the military, seeing the many men training for the coming war. His thoughts drift off to his home planet. Sadness and loneliness join him on the walk.
“Ugh,” says Raja Kint after walking into the Chieftain, not realizing he had stopped. He quickly mutters, “Sorry.” The Chieftain nods his head and opens the door before him.
Raja Kint inspects the building from the outside. The building is made from large leaves and tree trunks. Shaping the building into a wavy-edged circle.
Raja Kint enters after the Chieftain. Eight men are present, four of them Raja Kint recognizes from the gate.
The Chieftain says, “This boy will help us with the upcoming war.”
“We enlist the aid of children for our issues now? Are we men present in this room not enough!” roars a burly man.
Many men voice agreement with the burly man. Raja Kint notices the Chieftain is quiet and the men are staring at him. He grumbles inwardly before saying, “Not only am I at least as strong as you all. I also know an array with such defensive prowess. That your enemies won’t be able to break through.”
A tall man with short hair sneers, “Are we to trust the words of a boy who’s still weening off his mother’s tit.”
The other men roar in laughter. “I bet the boy still hasn’t used what’s between his legs except for pissing!” Raja Kint furrows his brows in anger. Using ki he roars, “Silence!”
The men immediately stop talking and look at him ferociously.
Raja Kint continues, “I didn’t come here to make small talk with old men. I came here to help you win the war. In fact, I’d wager that I can set up my array now. And all eight of you can attack together and won’t break through in under three minutes.”
The burly man replies, “I say we take you up on the offer little man. In turn, if you lose then you’ll be a foot soldier on the front lines.”
Raja Kint nods his head in approval.
“Follow me,” says the Chieftain.
The group reaches a training ground full of middle-aged men. When the group is noticed the men bow and roar, “We greet the Chieftain and Commanders.”
“May you all step aside, we’re about to test the capabilities of this boy.” Says a slender man while pointing at Raja Kint. Scrutinizing eyes land on Raja Kint as he begins setting up his array. Using a very minute amount of earth law. Less than a minute later Raja Kint is sitting cross-legged. Inside a formation big enough only for him to fit. He activates the formation and notices an extremely vague figure that he can’t make out near the top of the formation.
I wonder if that’s the turtle spirit not fully formed. It shouldn’t show this early at all. But now I have amorphous earth law. Maybe those are the reasons why. Raja Kint turns his attention toward the eight commanders with a sneer. “Attack with all your might.” Right now Raja Kint had infused his earth law into this formation. So, even if a limbo realm attacked he would still be able to last a few attacks.
The eight men used the strength of the earth ki to their fullest extent. As they were doing this Raja Kint observed how they used earth ki. For a group isolated from the world, they’re not bad. But it’s probably because of the Chieftain. The attacks land heavily on the array. In the end, the array has shown not the slightest weakness. Causing the eight commanders to frown in response while sharing gazes.
Raja Kint sneers, “It seems you bunch were all talk. Now you see why my array would help you in your war.”
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
The Chieftain walks forward and places his palm on the array. Raja Kint senses the earth law and realizes that the Chieftain’s calmly placed palm is exerting more pressure than the eight commanders together. The Chieftain nods his head calmly while lifting his palm. When he lifted his palm everyone was shocked as there was a clear palm print on the array.
Not only were the commanders and veteran soldiers shocked by everything happening. Raja Kint was shocked as well. He wasn’t sure he would be able to leave a mark even with his spear limbo thrust.
In the blink of an eye, the array repaired itself as if nothing happened. “Is this enough for you commanders to trust me now?”
The Chieftain responds. “With this array alone, our chances will increase. And it leaves no chance of total annihilation for our tribe. Even though you even used earth law. The use was so minute it could be considered negligible.”
The eight commanders concede to the reality before them. Raja Kint deactivates and erases his array before returning to the hut with the nine men.
“Such an impressive display kid. My name is Michalis Shizen, what’s yours?” says a tall, lean man.
“My name is Raja Kint.”
“Indeed that was incredible, how old are you?”
A smile crept up on Raja Kint’s face, “I’m only nine years old.” All the men froze for a moment. Examining Raja Kint even harder than before. The Chieftain also showed a flash of surprise. One of the men wryly chuckled.
The burly man replies, “The world is truly unfair, nine years old and already at the outer ki realm. It seems the legendary limbo realm is but a pitstop for you.”
The Chieftain says, “We must get to work. He won’t be helping us with planning. Only preparing the arrays and doing what we plan for him.”
“He’s only in the second stage, there isn’t much he can do outside of the array but be a foot soldier.”
“Hmph, I may only be at that stage but my combat prowess matches anyone in this room.” After a brief pause, “Except for maybe the Chieftain.” Thinking about the Chieftain’s palm earlier, Raja Kint understood that he would lose against him.
The commanders were silent for a moment.
“It isn’t completely unbelievable, we’ve heard stories of people who can fight far above their cultivation stage. The boy from the Fenix Sect is one such example. Plus, against those with the blessing of heaven, we fall short in combat prowess. There are very few in our tribe history who can compete with those heaven-blessed in the same stage.” Says a commander with long hair and green eyes.
A lean, short man speaks, “And the Chieftain before our eyes is one such man.”
Michalis Shizen says, “If he has such a great array and combat ability. Won’t this be a bonus for us? Maybe we won’t have to only defend. Maybe we could swallow the other tribes.”
The men in the room fell silent once more with furrows in their brows. The tall, short-haired man says, “Can we even accommodate such an expansion on short notice? And rid the dissident voices that will appear. Not only from opposing tribes but our own as well?”
“We will not be accommodating to anything. We will simply protect ourselves. It’s the easiest way to deal with the situation.” Says the Chieftain.
The lean, short man replies, “It might be the easiest but what of our future? We could at least kill everyone down to the women and children. Then our tribe will forever be safe.”
A man with red hair speaks, “You talk of an easy way and speak of staying within this small section of the world. We would still be food on the platter. What if we’re forced to submit to stronger forces? Forced to give away our talented young. Forced to give away our wives and daughters. If we have such strength then we should move deeper into the forest where the tribes are weaker and stay there. Or, we can leave the forest in search of something better. But don’t speak of killing everyone else off as easy. If we do that then we provoke anyone who’s backing them.”
Raja Kint wondered for a moment. “Backers?” Who would hold interest in such weak tribes? Suddenly an idea struck him. Could people be wanting to understand the secrets of heaven and earth? Their cursed ancestors should be heaven-defiers. Maybe there’s a secret within the tribes. Whatever it is it’s nothing to concern myself with.
The Chieftain speaks again, “We might be safe because I might have a way to the limbo realm.”
The commanders were left starstruck by the sentence.
For generations ever since they were cursed a path had never been found. There were many through the years with great talent but still could never find a way. Ever since his younger days, the Chieftain was considered a talent. And he would frequently leave the tribe, causing everyone worries. Sadly over the years, the tribe began realizing that it was just another pipe dream. Even the commanders, knowing that the Chieftain still worked hard toward the goal. Had lost faith and the will to find a way. Now, after they had come to terms with no way forward, the Chief just sprung this on them. Even if it’s a “might,” the hope represented wasn’t anything so indecisive. As the Chief hadn’t brought up the limbo realm in years.
The burly man stutteringly said, “Chief… Chieftain are you… s-sure.”
The Chieftain smiled and turned his gaze toward Raja Kint. “This boy here isn’t any normal genius from the outside world, he would be considered a genius at least on par with the Fenix Sect. And for this reason, I believe he may very well be able to help me.”
Raja Kint looked at the Chieftain in shock. Did he really thrust the fate of his tribe onto me?
