52: Array Competition (3)

52: Array Competition (3)

As Raja Kint was recovering his ki he was wondering what he should do for the final fight.

Even if I use my nature ki to boost the strength it may very well not be enough. With that epiphany he's accessed a new level of strength. And I would bet he’ll have consolidated his gains. And potentially pushed even further.

Although the woman did mention higher powers watching me and in the corner of my eye. The elder seemed nervous for a moment before shutting his mouth. So even if I did use earth law here it wouldn’t matter. Maybe a bit of surprise but nothing else. That’s if he pushes me there. With his strength, I might be able to finally understand limbo-stage techniques.

The Head Array Disciple was with a group of elders. One elder was helping him heal while he quietly thought over what he learned. Those in the audience had left, leaving the stadium empty except for a few people.

Time slowly passed and soon the stadium began filling up even more than before. With Raja Kint’s performance and the Head Array Disciple's improvements, the students couldn’t help but talk about the tournament to all their friends.

An elder stood up with a smile. “Are both contestants ready?”

Both boys responded, “Yes.”

“Good. It seems we have a big crowd this time. Even us elders are interested in this.” said the elder warmly.

“Haha, even though he’s two stages lower than me I'm quite excited too.” Said the Head Array Disciple as he walked over.

Raja Kint lightly smiled as they began placing their arrays. After a few moments they both placed their hands down. The four-fingered hand appeared before Raja Kint. While the Head Array Disciple’s wind began whirring. Three crescent moons appeared.

Raja Kint narrowed his eyes, these crescent moons were stronger than the earlier ones. “It seems my senior sister has truly helped you.”

“Haha, she has truly been a big help.”

The crescent winds shot forth as the hand pressed forward. The first impact stopped the hand. The following two crescent winds dimmed the hand before it continued forward.

Raja Kint wasn’t feeling too good. This hand was created to be hard to destroy. Yet, it was weakened by crescent winds that could be easily conjured.

Just like that, three more crescent winds shot toward the hand. The first crescent wind dimmed the hand further. With the following crescent wind dimming the hand to visibly less than fifty percent of when it was first created. The third wind pushed the hand back, dimming it further

Raja Kint quickly sent the hand forward as there wasn’t enough time for the crescent winds to be recreated. The Head Array Disciple erected a wind dome as the hand arrived. The wind frantically attacked the hand. Slowing its movement and soon dissipating it.

Raja Kint’s face paled a bit as the two stared at each other.

“It seems it wasn’t just an epiphany but a major improvement. Even your basic techniques are a notch higher. With the ki expenditure even decreasing a bit I would wager,” said Raja Kint.

“It’s fine if you wish to give in. If that shoddy palm is all you have then the conclusion is obvious.”

“This shoddy palm just took down another late stage.”

“Someone who never once beat me or pushed me. Indeed you did beat him.”

A hand with strands of green ki inside appeared this time. The Head Array Disciple wasn’t negligent as he brought forth two crescent winds the size of a body. Raja Kint sent his hand forward as the crescent winds also shot forward. The collision this time caused nearby people’s hair to move.

The hand withstood the crescent wind. While seemingly unphased, the hand collided with the second crescent wind. The Head Array Disciple was shocked that those crescent winds were so easily defeated. He hardened his eyes as another crescent wind appeared. It was the size of a normal crescent wind but contained more wind.

Those in the audience from earlier recognized this crescent wind as the final attack from earlier. This wind shot forth extremely fast. With the Head Array Disciple fully recovered and even stronger than earlier. This crescent wind was stronger than what he used on Kyoot Kint. “Fwoo!”

Wind rapidly whipped around as the two were at a standstill. The two attacks disconnected, flying in circles opposite of each other before clashing again.

“Fwoo!”

Winds whipped around the stage as the two continued to repeatedly clash. The elders were surprised to see Raja Kint holding his own to this extent. Kyoot Kint watched with rapt attention seeking to learn as much as she could. As did the seventh stage boy who lost to Raja Kint earlier too. Those in the audience were shocked to see this clash. Students from all divisions had arrived hoping for something exciting to occur. But when they saw the disparity in stages they were disappointed.

Now, they were watching the Head Array Disciple struggle against a sixth stage. Some even began whispering that Raja Kint looked extraordinarily young as well.

Stolen story; please report.

“Fwoo!”

The ninth collision occurred and the two struggled in a stalemate. They could tell that at the current rate Raja Kint’s hand would break through but it wouldn’t contain enough strength to pose a threat. As such after struggling for a bit post the ninth clash. Raja Kint brought his hand back and the Head Array Disciple brought his crescent wind back.

Raja Kint furrowed his brows as he replenished his hand. Will I be forced to use law? Well, maybe things will improve after reaching the late stage. After all, there are usually big changes after every three stages in cultivation realms that have stages set up like the two ki realms. Not to mention I’m even using my ki which is strengthening the hand. I could pour more ki in but I need to be ready to use law.

Raja Kint looked at his opponent's crescent wind. He could see the winds becoming fiercer as time passed. If only I could make a complete palm. Then its strength would be multiplied and I could have extra hands.

Next to the crescent wind, another crescent with similar strength appeared. This caught Raja Kint’s eye and he inwardly groaned. Well, master wants me to learn so where’s the point in holding back?

More green ki began appearing in his hand. The woman elder was surprised by this. She knew the green ki was Raja Kint’s ki but he shouldn’t be capable of doing this until the limbo realm. Not only was control needed but beneath the limbo realm. One didn’t have enough ki to support an array.

She knew Raja Kint could bypass these requirements and quickly deduced why, ki control. Even cultivators in the limbo realm don’t have perfect ki control. Causing ki to be wasted every time they use it. But in the limbo realm, you have so much ki that it’s not a big issue. For someone to have such high ki control below the limbo realm. This meant that they could attempt some things others wouldn’t dare.

After a few breaths, the hand contained enough nature ki to fill two fingers. For Raja Kint this was already a lot of his ki to use. And if he used the earth law then he would completely drain himself. Although, he was 100% sure of victory in that scenario. What worried him was how the Head Array Disciple only seemed slightly drained.

The two crescent winds were sent forward. The palm shot forward to contend as more clashes rang out.

“Fwoo!”

The crescent wind didn’t attempt to struggle but immediately gained momentum in a circle while another crescent wind slammed against the palm.

“Fwoo!’

Raja Kint held his own as they soon reached fifteen clashes. Finally, the Head Array Disciple’s face was becoming pale.

As they continued clashing Raja Kint’s hand unknowingly began slowly forming its fifth finger increasing its strength.

“Fwoo!”

Twenty-five clashes have occurred and Raja Kint’s face was pale at this moment. The hand was considerably dimmed. While the Head Array Disciple was pale with sweat on his forehead. Plus, his two crescent winds were far less fierce than earlier.

An elder said, “Hmm? Hasn’t the fifth finger grown? It only needs the distal phalanx to reach completion.”

Hearing this the other elders were shocked as they looked at the hand battling the two crescent winds.

On the thirtieth clash a crescent wind dissipated into the air. While the palm was nearly transparent. The other crescent wind immediately landed, forcing both attacks to dissipate.

Blood trickled down either side of Raja Kint’s lips. His face is the whitest it has been in this entire battle. The Head Array Disciple has blood dripping from his chin onto his clothes as he looks at Raja Kint. Suddenly, an even fiercer wind appeared around him. A crescent wind at body length with even more condensed winds appeared.

Raja Kint could quickly tell that his only option was the earth law at this point. Everyone watched as the dirt around the stage flew up and came in front of Raja Kint. Forming another incomplete hand. The students were confused upon seeing this.

“How!” Said an elder as he quickly stood up.

“Earth law!” Said another elder quickly standing in shock.

When the students heard ‘earth law’ they were shocked as a gasp filled the stadium. The woman elder looked on in disbelief. Even if she didn’t believe her earlier statement about higher powers watching Raja Kint. Now she truly wondered if he was being watched.

“Could he contend with the Fenix Sect’s genius?” muttered an elder.

The others fell silent upon hearing his words but continued to pay attention to what would happen.

The Head Array Disciple heard everything and felt stunned. This only hyped him even more. If he defeated a genius today, wouldn’t this be something to brag about for the rest of his life? He sacrificed all defense and put everything into the crescent wind. Increasing its strength even more.

Raja Kint finally formed his hand and sent it forward. He knew that with his current control of laws. He was still on a time limit.

The Head Array Disciple built his strength up as far as it would go. Everyone was shocked by how strong this crescent wind was.

“Can anyone in the academy take either attack and still be standing?”

“Forget standing, what about even living?”

The hand reached the halfway point when the crescent wind shot forward like a released arrow. Everyone could hear a slight screeching of the wind as it approached the hand.

“Boom!”

The two collided causing wind to explode across the stadium. Reaching even those at the back of the stadium. The hand wrapped its fingers around the crescent wind and squeezed.

“Fwoosh!”

“Ptoo!” Blood spurted from the Head Array Disciple’s mouth three times.

His crescent wind was completely dispersed from the squeeze of the hand. The hand didn’t stop and went toward him. He couldn’t even muster the strength to form anything as the hand approached. The hand seemed to lightly push against his chest before slamming him against the ground.

“Ahh!” He could only scream in pain from the immense strength of this chest-sized, incomplete hand. The hand rose a few feet up and began to descend. Seeing the descent the Head Array Disciple hurriedly screamed. “I GIVE UP!”

He watched as the hand fell apart, dirt landing on his chest.
