5: The Fateful War (1)

5: The Fateful War (1)

The Kint family planet at this moment is extremely peaceful. People going about their day as usual.

In the air, Raja Kint spoke. “Father, why did the Patriarch kick us out so fast?”

Enyo Kint replied, “It’s none of our business. It must be something only the Patriarch alone can deal with.”

Raja Kint could only nod his head.

Inside Ayumu Kint's chambers, a doomsday scene was present.

Ayumu Kint stood within the scene with a face of extreme displeasure. This situation is akin to someone barging into your house without permission when you wanted to be alone.

Ayumu Kint stated, “Daoist Destiny if I don’t deem what you say as important then don’t expect to leave unscathed.”

Daoist Destiny appeared from the portal and hopped off his canoe. Despite the raging surroundings he was as steady as a mountain against a sleet of snow.

Daoist Destiny said, “I'm sure you realize a new age is upon us. After all one of your people inherited one of my legacies. Specifically the legacy for reading into the future.”

“Continue.”

“Well, my fate thread to you showed that you’ll have a good fate. Therefore I want to ride your fate as well. Don’t worry I won’t weigh down your fate. And I've come with offerings for you.” Daoist Destiny sounded excited yet calm throughout his speech.

Ayumu Kint’s face showed no change as he replied. “What do you want? Anytime something major happens you always seem to have a presence somewhere in the situation. Now that you’ve come to me I can only assume things will be far worse than I imagined.”

Daoist Destiny smiled ruefully, “I only follow the dao of fate. It’s not as if I’m impacting fate itself. Anyways the offerings I bring are three things. First, I have 2 talisman tickets to the once in every ten thousand years dao banquet. And I’ll give you the other talisman. The second offer is that I still have a favor to be owed by Daoist Metalworld. I can pass this favor on to you. And thirdly, I know where the limb of a dao realm beast from the Gorgon Clan is located.”

Hearing these offerings Ayumu Kint couldn’t help but hold glee in his heart. Any one of these offerings alone would be enough for dao worlds to fight over. But he still hadn’t heard what type of request would warrant these offerings.

“You said you want to ride my fate. How do you plan on riding my fate?”

“What I mean is that I want to share your fate with you. I want to be by your side as a life-and-death partner.”

Ayumu Kint replied, “Oh, my luck might be good but couldn’t you just kill me for my luck? Or better yet just steal my luck?”

Daoist Destiny replies, “Even with my insights I don’t dare try to change luck. I can only be near a person of luck for it to naturally rub off on me. While keeping good relations with said person. Of course, I have my own good luck so I know I won’t die in the process.”

Ayumu Kint stayed silent for a few moments before speaking again. “I have something else I want to ask Daoist Destiny. Do you have any info on colored ki?”

Daoist Destiny visibly shook at this sentence and gave a deep look at Ayumu Kint.

“I certainly know a few things. To sum it up.”

“I don’t want a summary.”

“Fine. May we sit somewhere to talk? And you can refer to me by my name, Mirai Daigo.”

Ayumu Kint finally dispersed the malevolent storm and gestured over to some wooden chairs cushioned with wool.

Mirai Daigo released a sigh of relief at the retraction of the storm. He sat down and waved his hand. A table with a coffee pot and two cups appeared.

Mirai Daigo Said, “I would like to celebrate this partnership with some tea leaves grown exclusively in the beast plane.”

In a few moments, the tea was ready and they poured it for themselves.

Ayumu Kint says, “This tea definitely isn’t normal. At first, there’s no flavor then in a few moments a delightfully smooth taste appears. Followed by a lingering aftertaste of fresh honey.”

Mirai Daigo laughed, “As always you are a man who loves tea more than most.”

“I’m also a man who likes information,” replied Ayumu Kint.

Mirai Daigo smirked as he began telling all he knew.

Inside Raja Kint’s room, it’s now nighttime. He’s sitting on his bed going through his book of arrays. Now that he’s a cultivator he can use the strength of arrays once he reaches the outer ki realm.

With school starting in three months. He was also excited to reach the limbo realm and discover more about his nature ki.

A knocking sounded at the door and Raja Kint broke from his rapt attention. He stood up and opened the door to the sun shining down. He had to look away for his eyes to adjust.

A soft voice spoke, “Young master are you ok, do you need me to do anything?”

Raja Kint replied, “No I don’t need anything.”

The day went by as usual. Until later in the day during the fall of the sun. everyone received a soul message from Enyo Kint, “Come to the main courtyard now.”

Raja Kint furrowed his brows. His father wasn’t one to call family meetings. He left his courtyard and met his brother on the way.

Raja Kint said, “Any idea why father wants us?”

Ruhai Kint replied, “No clue… guess we’ll have to see for ourselves.”

The two moved quickly through the house being the last to the courtyard. Upon entrance they were both shocked, quickly cupping their hands in unison they said, “Greetings World Patriarch.”

Ayumu Kint waved them over and the boys sat in open seats with their family. What was most attractive to the family was Mirai Daigo. Nobody had ever seen such a man in the family. Much less someone who wasn’t worse than their Patriarch in temperament.

Ayumu Kint spoke first, “I have a friend here who will offer your boys a bit more luck for their growth.” He then shot Mirai Daigo a glance.

Ayumu Kint continued, “Raja and Ruhai come forward.”

The two boys looked at each other and walked over. They stopped in front of the World Patriarch. Mirai Daigo stood up and walked over to the boys. He looked at Ayumu Kint and lightly sighed.

Raja Kint was looking at this unknown man. Suddenly the eyes of the man seemed to reflect something indiscernible. At this moment Mirai Daigo looked at Raja Kint with a hint of surprise on his face. Ayumu Kint was also looking at Raja Kint with happiness.

Everyone in the room could see their facial expressions and looked at Raja Kint. Raja Kint was just as confused as everyone else. Mirai Daigo furrowed his brows and shook his head.

Suddenly a wave of indiscernible energy different from ki brushed past the brothers. Mirai Daigo looked at Ruhai Kint with surprise.

“This boy already has quite good luck.”

Mirai Daigo directed his gaze to Raja Kint and became stuck. Raja Kint felt weird under his gaze and Ayumu Kint slightly frowned.

Seeing the frown Mirai Daigo couldn’t help but blurt out. “This kid doesn’t need any more good luck from what I see. His luck is already insane.”

Ayumu Kint replied, “You know what the deal is.”

Mirai Daigo grumbled but began moving his fingers through the air. It was like he was playing an instrument.

After a few minutes, Mirai Daigo dropped his arms and sat back down. “It’s done now. Every generation of your family must have accumulated good luck strictly for this moment in time. Well, it seems like I won’t be too bad off.”

Ayumu Kint didn’t care for what Mirai Daigo said. He looked at the two boys with expectation.

Suddenly the faces of both the Dao Worlds changed as they stood up. Ayumu Kint took out two storage bags and threw them at the boys. The two Dao Worlds flew up into the air as a vortex hundreds of yards in size appeared above the world.

“WHO DARES TRESPASS HERE!” Roared Ayumu Kint. At this moment he felt pure utter rage. He extended his right hand and clenched towards the vortex. Immediately the vortex became unstable.

An arrow appeared from the vortex with the strength of a Dao World. Aiming straight for Ayumu Kint.

Ayumu Kint extended his left hand and roared, “SPATIAL FREEZE!”

A deep voice carrying a mocking tone spread out across the planet. “Why must you make things so difficult? You know this is inevitable. It’s time for your bloodline to go extinct.”

Ayumu Kint replied, “No matter what happens the Kint family will never perish as long as one of us exists.”

The arrow had stopped and Ayumu Kint grabbed the arrow. Suddenly he felt a powerful dao emanate from the vortex.

Mirai Daigo said, “You would dare to do this even with me here? Hmph. you should know who backs me.”

This time a regal-sounding voice appeared. “Do you believe you’re the only one who has a background you exile?” The regal man sneered as he continued, “Today is the day Ayumu Kint will lose it all. We know he’s hard to pin down. But can you save your bloodline? Can you leave without taking a few hits from me!?” His voice boomed louder and louder after every sentence.

Raja Kint felt his father’s strength protecting him. But in turn, his father coughed up 3 mouthfuls of blood from just a few sentences.

Enyo Kint looked at Irini Kint as she smiled and held his face. Her soft voice entered his ears, “This is what the Patriarch was preparing for. We can only trust the kids now.”

Enyo Kint looked at his wife and kids softly. The same soft eyes as when Raja Kint was first born.

“Raja, Ruhai, Hikari come to me.” Even at this moment, Enyo’s voice was calm.

Once the three arrived he continued. “The Patriarch is currently buying us time to escape. Your mother and I won’t escape today. You three will be the ones to escape”

Hikari began crying and Irini walked up to hug her. Ruhai and Raja stared their father in his eyes with a burning desire for vengeance.

Enyo Kint looked at his sons proudly. The blood that flows through our veins is truly the greatest. These boys will definitely do it!

Enyo Kint continued, “I’m sorry but the way we devised will have you witness war today. You must etch today deep into your memories and follow your mother’s every command without fail.”

The boys shouted in unison, “YES FATHER!”

Hikari squeaked out a, “yes father,” in between her sobs.

Enyo Kint then turned to the sky and flew up. Raja Kint watched his father’s back. His father would be fighting for the survival of the clan today. How could he dare to look away in this moment?

Irini Kint spoke in a commanding tone, “Boys go to the main courtyard.”

The two moved while surprised by the tone. They had never heard this tone from their mother before. And never had they felt such a strong sense of bloodlust from their lovingly kind mother.

Raja Kint understood that today had given him his fire for cultivation. No matter what he would become strong enough to repay the deaths of any clan members ten times over!
