The Chieftain watched as the foggy ki quickly spiraled into Raja Kint’s body.
His breathing becomes stronger as his eyelids flutter. After a few moments, his eyes open and he sits upright, focused solely on recuperating. After some time Raja Kint opens his eyes and exhales.
Thanking the Chieftain and looking around the cave. “This cavern is pretty far underground, right? This might be a good area to make a breakthrough in.” Said Raja Kint.
“I didn’t even consider that, the cave goes further down. Could be better caverns further down.”
“Why did this cavern have such dense ki?”
“When I first returned from the outside I set this up with spirit stones placed beneath the ground. Of course, they aren’t high-quality spirit stones. But, since I can’t use them I figured I could nurture an area in case one day I can cultivate normally.”
Raja Kint stood up, “let’s look deeper, this place might just be perfect for the array.”
The two left the cavern and walked further down. As they walked they became surprised at how deep this cave went.
“Chief, how far exactly have you gone before?”
“Never this far, I knew it was deep but this is surprising.”
As the two walked for a long time. They came across a large opening leading into another cavern. Inside is a pool of water multiple meters in diameter. Raja Kint’s eyes widened as he ran over and dipped his hand in. The cold water wasn’t just water but had ki mixed into it.
“Chief, this is water and ki mixed. Although the ki is diluted, this water has incredibly strong ki. Whoever left this must have been a peak expert of this world.”
The Chief walked over and looked at the water. He pointed to the bottom of the water, “There seems to be a skeleton down there. Potentially treasure as well.”
Raja Kint’s face showed excitement as he looked down. But he couldn’t see the skeleton when an idea came to him.
“Chief, how can you see so far? This water is a bit difficult for me to see through.”
“I’ve tempered my eyes with the earth ki. So I can see farther.”
Raja Kint gasped in astonishment. Tempering one’s eyes with ki was an extremely dangerous path for outer ki realms that could leave one blind. Even with a cultivation manual yet the man before him was able to do it on his own.
Raja Kint says, “I’ll dive down to the skeleton and see what’s there.”
The Chief nodded his head as Raja Kint dived in and swam down. This ki is truly incredible. I might be able to come back later in my cultivation and breakthrough here.
After swimming about ten meters Raja Kint felt something scan his body. His face became astounded as he had a bad premonition. He quickly shot out of the pool landing next to the Chieftain.
The Chieftain looked at Raja Kint with confusion.
“I felt a force scan me and in the next moment I had a bad feeling.”
The Chieftain stood for a moment. “I’ll give it a try.” A layer of earth appeared on him as he dove in. Raja Kint watched from above as the Chieftain went past ten meters and continued without stopping. Raja Kint sat down as a thought arrived. With the ki in this pool there should be foggy ki in the area. But instead there isn’t any foggy ki. And you can’t tell the pool is extraordinary unless you walk right up to it.
Thinking to this point, Raja Kint looked at the pool and gently shook his head. After some time the Chieftain reappeared with a pouch covered in dark green scales.
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“That pool is truly horrifying, the further down I went the denser the ki became. If I could absorb this ki then I could enter the limbo realm with no issue.”
“If I could get to the bottom I could begin array experimenting as well.”
“You might be able to now. This pouch was in the skeleton’s hand. But, once I grabbed the pouch the skeleton turned to ash. I’m guessing there was some type of array setup. Where anyone without the right bloodline was rejected. But, once a descendant appeared the array would vanish. Along with the skeleton that was probably only still existing because of the array.”
“I wonder how this array stayed active for so long. It has to check intruders and attack while concentrating all the ki inside this pool.”
“Probably the work of two arrays, but how they sustained for this long I have no clue. Anyways, let’s examine this pouch.”
The pouch opened and a talisman came out. The Chieftain grabbed the talisman and stood still. After a few minutes the Chieftain seemed to return as his eyes brightened and he roared with laughter. Raja Kint looked over in surprise as the Chieftain’s laugh was so strong, it hurt his ears.
“The ancestors have planned ahead in case of their death. They truly left a path for the future generations.”
Raja Kint became curious as he stepped closer. The Chieftain began summarizing what he learned.
“Our ancestor carried the name Exousia Shizen and was a peerless talent. In his age this world was at its peak with numerous supreme talents emerging. Immortals appeared from this world in great numbers and the ki here was flourishing. This is back when immortals didn’t need to leave this world.
“During our ancestor's era he wasn’t the only supreme talent. There were a few others and even a reincarnated immortal. This group of individuals wanted to see if they could ascend without heaven's help. Therefore, they sought to forge their path of cultivation. This group suppressed everyone within their generation. With the strongest being my ancestor.”
Raja Kint couldn’t help but gasp at this information. It’s insane for a single planet to house so many peerless talents at once. And this planet was swarming with immortal-level individuals who enjoyed the environment here. Looking at the planet’s current state one would never believe that immortals would willingly stay here.
This isn’t even touching on the fact of a reincarnated immortal. How hard was it for something like that to occur? Even with a reincarnated immortal, there was still a stronger being within this group? Everything about such an age is truly astonishing for a planet.
The Chieftain continued, “Soon they reached the boundary of the sea devourer realm. Through chance encounters, life-and-death scenarios, and supreme talent. Everyone in their group was at least 95% within the sea devourer realm. With the reincarnated immortal and my ancestor reaching 99%. Although, I don’t fully understand this.”
Raja Kint interjected, “For them to even reach 95% is already truly astounding. Even descendants of dao worlds may only reach up to 95%. I’ve read that there are dao worlds that didn’t even reach 95% as a sea devourer in history.”
The Chieftain revealed a strange expression. “What’s a Dao World?”
Raja Kint blinked his eyes for a moment before chuckling. “It doesn’t really matter, that stage is so far off that I don’t understand it.”
The Chieftain nodded as he continued. “My ancestor and the reincarnated immortal challenged the heavens. Bringing forth a horrifying tribulation. Sadly, they ended up losing their lives. Before my ancestor went through with the tribulation, he prepared for the future generations beforehand. Hence, comes the inheritance we’re looking for today.”
Raja Kint curiously asked, “What about the others? Did they undergo tribulation as well?”
“It seems the ancestor knew the other three talents successfully broke through as they didn’t bring forth any tribulation. There’s another section detailing how he was able to leave this inheritance behind.”
Raja Kint’s ears perked up.
“The ancestor himself had fallen onto a truly heaven-defying clone technique. Where one can transfer a part of their soul to another body they’ve created at a moment of extreme danger. But, the technique only bought him some temporary time. Luckily, he had already set up everything. He just needed some last-second details. Sadly, the heavens were so powerful that he was quickly hunted down and had his bloodline cursed. Since he didn’t want the heavens help in cultivation then the heavens would make sure none of his bloodline would thrive. This was his punishment.”
Raja Kint was shell-shocked into silence. Such an extraordinary talent appeared in history and the only remnants as a reminder of such outstanding individuals were an inheritance and the cursed bloodline.
The Chieftain sighed, “I can only imagine their glory. To stand out even amongst a world of immortals. Those dao worlds you mentioned seem even stronger than immortals. And they were able to compare to such beings and their descendants. But they still didn’t reach 100% for the sea devourer. Could that be impossible?”
Raja Kint sighed, “Reaching that is truly difficult, that alone is enough to call down such terrifying tribulations. From the texts I’ve read, such a being is nearly unparalleled and can even kill immortals.”
The Chieftain visibly shook, “A mortal killing immortals is possible? Truly such an individual would be unparalleled.”
