13: Strength, Respect, Lead

Three days have passed and Raja Kint is eating his midday meal with the leader of the kids.

Raja Kint says, “What is your name? I’ve never actually gotten to know.”

A boy on the side says, “How do you have the nerve to ask his name? Maybe you should tell me your name right now?”

Raja Kint didn’t spare a glance. He continued looking at the kid leader. The leader smiled, “You can just call me Leader Odigo. If you want, you can just refer to me as Brother Odigo.”

Raja Kint replied, “Thank you for the generosity Brother Odigo.”

The kids around were shocked. Nobody could call him anything other than a leader among the kids. And even his own girl didn’t call him by his name.

They finished their meal and everyone parted ways. Raja Kint walked over to the front gates and waited. After a few moments, the man from a few days ago appeared.

“He’s willing to meet you now otherwise it’ll be two days from now late at night.”

“I’ll go meet him now,” replied Raja Kint. The two walked through a few corridors, taking a few turns before finally coming upon a door with a lock on it. To Raja Kint’s knowledge, it was the only door in this entire underground with a lock.

“Is this the only door with a lock on it?”

“Yeah, and it’s reserved for the leading figure in our world.”

The man knocked on the door once and it slid open. The face of Leader Odayakana appeared glaring at the man and smiling at Raja Kint. Raja Kint says, “It’s great to see you Leader Odayakana.”

Her facial expressions went through an array of emotions before speaking. “Just refer to me as Big Sis Odaya.”

“Haha, yes Big Sis Odaya.”

The man was left outside as Raja Kint walked through the door. When he walked through he noticed that besides him and Big Sis Odaya, there were three other men and an older man sitting in a seat. Two of the three men are middle-aged and the last is an older man. Everyone person in this room was an eighth inner ki.

Raja Kint greeted everyone and then the room fell into silence. Raja Kint raised an eyebrow as everyone was looking at the old man in the chair. The old man in the chair was looking at Raja Kint before speaking.

“Whatever you have to say, say it now child.”

“I want to organize a prison break and escape from here.”

One of the middle-aged men with a green shirt looked at Raja Kint like an idiot. The other middle-aged man with a black shirt said, “If you’ve come to only say this then I might kill you right now.”

The other older man with a white shirt said, “It’s not like the idea hasn’t crossed our minds. But how can we unite everyone in this prison to make it work?” The white-shirted man looked at Raja Kint with deep eyes.

“How to unite everyone? Everyone in this room should be capable of doing that. You all have enough strength and sway to lead the people.”

The seated old man replied, “We have the strength and sway to lead, sure. But none of us here are actual leaders. What you’re referring to is leading a miniature army. The breakout won’t be easy. What if the people lose morale? Then their ferocity towards breaking out weakens. Before we know it our necks in this room will be the ones under a blade.”

Raja Kint looked at the people in this room and spoke. “I’ll be the leading figure for this breakout. I only need you all to gather the prisoners so that I can prove to them I can lead.”

The green-shirt man sneered, “You lead at your young age and fourth inner ki? HA! You can’t even convince us in this room to have you lead.”

Leader Odayakana spoke up, “Prasinos you’re wrong, I trust the kid to lead us.”

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Prasinos looked at Odayakana in mockery. “How long have you been down here? Now a runt tells you he can be our messiah and you’re tripping over your feet to grovel before him.”

Odayakana's expression became hideous as she took a step forward. Raja Kint could feel the strength of an eighth inner ki from her.

“If you’re going to fight at least do it elsewhere,” said the white shirt older man.

“Stay out of this Aspro,” gritted Odayanaka through her teeth. The black shirt man laughed, “Odayakana you’re outnumbered here. You know I’ll join in to suppress you.”

Odayakana looked at him and took a step back. Raja Kint couldn’t help but think of what she had told him before. About how the leader of everyone is only seated for his strength but is too soft to lead a revolution.

“Two men teaming up against a single woman deserve less than the beasts we feed on. They deserve to be shit and pissed on for all to enjoy in the coliseum.” Said Raja Kint with a mocking smirk.

The two men both changed their expressions to pure rage. “Boy, it seems you don’t know your place in this room,“ stated the black shirt man. He took a step forward and dashed toward Raja Kint.

Raja Kint narrowed his eyes as he focused on the man. Raja Kint dashed forward at a speed shocking everyone. His speed was similar to someone of a higher stage than the fourth inner ki.

Odayakana said, “Mavros if you hurt him you won’t leave this room alive.”

Prasinos replied, “You won’t be doing anything as long as I'm around.”

At this moment Mavros reached Raja Kint and threw out a left punch. Raja Kint threw up a guard and took the left punch. Knocking him off his feet and landing safely.

Raja Kint mocked, “Just as I thought, men like you deserve less than the beast.”

Mavros stuttered, “How… how did you… how did you take that punch?” Everyone in the room was surprised at this revelation. A difference of four stages was enough for a fight to be completely one-sided. So then how was it that a fourth inner ki could stand to an eighth inner ki?

Raja Kint in his mind thought. A punch from an eighth inner ki isn’t something I can take too many times. Just the one knocked me off my feet and an aching pain is present.

Mavros roared, “You can’t take an infinite amount!” He burst forward with speed. Odayakana burst forth to stop him and Prasinos went forward to stop her.

Aspro looked at Icurio and said, “I think the kid might be able to pull it off, old friend. We might have a chance at freedom once again.”

Icurio responded, “I’m also willing to bet on this kid… STOP!”

Icurio's voice rang out in the room and everyone ceased their battles.

“The boy clearly has potential. I will oversee him myself in preparation for breaking out.”

When Odayakana, Mavros and Prasinos heard this they were all shocked. They knew the old man to be docile in nearly all affairs. Because of this, they lost any hope of breaking out. But now Icurio had just announced what they wanted to hear from him.

Mavros said, “Old man don’t play with our hearts here. If you take back your words now then I can rid myself of this hope that’s appearing.”

Icurio responded, “You should be thanking the boy before you. Since it was the boy who showed us a light. We shall grasp it and use the boy as the figure of hope.”

Prasinos looked at Raja Kint and said, “If the old man trusts you then I’ll trust you.”

Raja Kint replied, “How can I trust either of you two who conspired against me just now? I don’t believe your hearts are swayed so easily.”

Aspro laughed, “Sure, they could kill you but killing you now means covering the ray of light. Do you know what we all hate more than anything? Staying down here in these dark, depressing, suffocating tunnels. Forced to move at the whim of some fat pig.” Aspro's voice became more hostile as he spoke.

“Do you know what we want more than anything? It’s the freedom to enjoy nature simply. To enjoy being regular people again. Not be forced to be barbarians down here for basic survival. Maybe everyone down here doesn’t feel the same. Those who disagree aren’t and will never be a leading figure. Because then we could potentially have a war down here,” spoke Mavros.

Odayakana says, “There is one man we must be conscious of down here. All he wants to see is death and will occasionally start wars that we have to stop.”

Aspro said, “We will announce to everyone that we plan on leaving and to come to a momentary truce.”

Icurio Looked at Raja Kint and said. “Since you’re the one to put a bit of fire in my heart. How long do you think you’ll need to be ready? I’ll come up with a plan to leave with Aspro.”

“I’ll need about two to three months.” Raja Kint raised an eyebrow and said, “You were just wanting to hurt me and with a single sentence from Leader Icurio you’re willing to stop. Why?” Raja Kint directed his gaze toward Mavros.

“It’s simple for me and it comes to respect. We may be at the same stage but he’s strong enough to battle against ninth inner ki. Nobody outside of this room knows how strong he truly is. The problem is that he’s so old that breaking through is far too difficult. Especially with the environment down here.”

Raja Kint learned at this moment that strength equals respect. And respect is non-negotiable in leading.
