65: Heartless Blue Eyes

65: Heartless Blue Eyes

Raja Kint fought a few more times that day. Defeating everyone in a demoralizing manner. As wanted by Master A.

The next few days continued in the same manner. Raja Kint fighting some cultivators, crushing each of them quickly. This caused word to spread around Julchen City about a young cultivator. Only at the outer ki realm seventh stage who was undefeated. Taking down eighth-stage cultivators. Showing prowess in both martial and array.

“Ah, there goes another one.” Says a bystander after watching a kid flung out of the stage.

Raja Kint sat down, looking toward Master A’s gloomy face. With Raja Kint’s reputation, nobody wanted to bet any more. As everyone assumed he would be an automatic winner. The venture wasn’t fruitless as he did make some money. And Raja Kint was able to get more experience and hone his skills.

With a crowd around the stage people naturally referred to Raja Kint not by his name. With him dominating everyone who came on the stage. He garnered a nickname that spread like wildfire: Heartless Blue Eyes. His blue eyes were truly mesmerizing and he was peerless amongst his peers. At this moment a clear, crisp voice sounded.

“I've come to challenge the little devil.”

Everyone turned their eyes, curious as to who came with such confidence. The speaker is a young girl with cascading black hair, pitch-black eyes with a cute face.

Raja Kint looked over to see she would be the first ninth-stage opponent he met in Julchen City. Raja Kint stood up when other kids began saying.

“Hey, isn’t she the one who went around challenging different sects and clans?”

“She never lost to anyone at the same stage.”

“You're right, she visited my sect and nobody at the same stage could win.”

The kids quickly identified her and the adults looked at her with interest. Their eyes also landed on the old man by her side. Some secretly checked his cultivation only to gain a fright. The old man’s eyes seemed unfocused as he followed the young girl over.

Raja Kint stood up as Master A was swarmed. Many kids wanted to place a bet on the girl. When the adults saw this behavior, coupled with the earlier information. They also quickly placed bets.

Kyoot Kint used all the winnings they earned so far and went all in. She didn’t want to do it. It was Master A who wanted to go all in.

Master A turned to Raja Kint. “If you don’t win this. Then you can kiss your chance at the competition goodbye.” His eyes were slightly widened with quickened breaths. Seeing the odds so stacked against Raja Kint made him inwardly gleeful.

Raja Kint looked exasperatedly at the man. The crowd even looked at him and many laughed. Raja Kint suddenly felt some type of force pass through his body. His brows furrowed as he looked at the old man. The old man seemed to not even pay him attention. That old fart thinks he’s so smooth? Let’s see his face when I take her down.

Kyoot Kint said, “Take her serious. She won’t be like those petty bandits from before.”

Raja Kint nodded his head as he took a deep breath.

At this point, the crowd was actually growing. Crowding this section of the market. Raja Kint spotted familiar faces: Lerup Sect people, those from the Kint Sect and people from the night at the bandit house.

The girl stepped onto the stage, loudly proclaiming, “I’ve come to set a devil cultivator in the making straight and no more.”

Raja Kint raised an eyebrow. “I’m not a devil cultivator. What are you spouting?”

The girl held a lofty look. “How could you not be a devil cultivator. The rumors about you are clearly rumors of a devil.”

“Rumors?”

The young kids in the crowd spoke up.

“You just hurt our dignity by winning so fast.”

“You don’t even look to learn. You just look to hurt!”

“It’s fine that you’re strong and talented. But, you’ve made people bedridden for days.”

“Heartless Blue Eyes needs a good beating.”

“Exactly, otherwise you’ll just grow up to bully others.”

Raja Kint uproariously laughed. “Indeed, there isn’t a need for me to treat you all as I have been. So what? The issues of weaklings don’t apply to me.” Raja Kint was really feeling this role of villain and wanted to continue this as long as he could.

The girl said, “The crowd is right. I’m only here to fix your devil ways. Then you’ll be a good cultivator.”

“You lack the strength.”

“Take this.” The girl ran forward and thrust her palm forward. Her palm lightly glowed blue.

Raja Kint clenched his right fist as he went forward with a serious face. Seeing her palm glow like that showed that this palm wasn’t so simple. He ran forward throwing his fist. Both of their attacks went past each other. Aiming for chests.

The girl had a slightly longer reach as her attack reached first. Raja Kint’s attack followed right after. Raja Kint didn’t react to the attack as he threw another punch forward. The girl was surprised by his attacking strength. Yet, she didn’t step back. She stepped forward as her other palm also glowed.

This time their attacks collided and they were pushed away from each other. Arms taut with neither losing. They lowered their arms and began devising their next move.

Raja Kint watched her standing. She is quite good. Even with my body, if she landed enough I might begin to feel some aches. Raja Kint lightly swayed side to side. A rhythm beginning to appear in his movement.

Master A was curious looking at his movement. This isn’t something I know.

Raja Kint ran forward as the girl also launched forward. The two quickly threw out a few punches.

“Ugh.” The girl reeled back from a punch.

The old man’s eyes became bright for a moment. The punch Raja Kint threw at first would seem to be a simple blind spot punch. With a keen eye, one would notice that simple punch was actually set up by earlier movements. With this first punch the flow of the fight moved in Raja Kint’s favor. Every three to four strikes Raja Kint would land.

After fifteen moves the girl stepped away. A ki snake appeared around her legs. She stepped forward to meet Raja Kint again. This time her movement was completely different.

Raja Kint calmly threw punches out. She parried every punch. Throwing out strikes of her own with occasional feints.

Seeing this Raja Kint sneered. “Your technique is inferior.”

The girl’s left eye twitched as she sent a quick strike forward. This punch was twice as fast as any other punch. Raja Kint decided not to dodge this punch. He threw a right of his own into her body.

The girl stepped back a few feet. Clearly losing this exchange as Raja Kint ran toward her. Suddenly ki fangs appeared on both her hands and she quickly lashed out. Stretching her fingers to look like claws. She brought her hands together and lashed out.

Raja Kint felt as though he was staring down the attack of a snake. It’s fangs ready to pierce through his body. He knew that he could run at this moment. But then wouldn’t the fight be a stalemate. With her chasing and him running? He clenched his right fist with determination.

The old man looked at his right fist with a flash of interest across his eyes.

“Bang!”

Raja Kint was forced backward. While the girl, closer to the edge, slammed into the ki wall. Raja Kint found his footing. He looked at the girl with interest. He instinctively felt at the moment of collision that she had held back.

“If you won’t even give your all”—Raja Kint smirked—“then you have no chance.”

The girl slightly frowned. “I can see why you have your reputation. You have the strength to back yourself. But…” Her frown flipped upward. “If this is all you have. Then you shouldn’t be such a haughty little devil.”

Raja Kint frowned. “Stop calling me little devil.”

The girl swung her small fist toward Raja Kint. “I’ll extinguish all devils in the cultivation world,” she said, dropping her fist, “I shouldn’t exhaust myself too much here either.”

“So I win. Good to know,” said Raja Kint.

Some kids began talking in the crowd.

“Is Heartless Blue Eyes really unbeatable?”

“It would seem only the top ninth stages can shut his mouth.”

“We can only look for justice at the competition.”

“What about my money?” Whined a kid.

The girl felt reluctant to step down after hearing the kids talking. She pursed her lips as determination slowly showed in her eyes.

“If you won’t step down. Then I’ll help.” Raja Kint ran forward.

As the girl was preparing to continue fighting.

“That’s enough.” A commanding voice halted Raja Kint and the girl.

Those in the crowd looked at the old man. The kids didn’t dare to say anything. After all, how could they possibly change this senior’s mind? The adults who bet were annoyed.

“Hey, she fights to the end. I have money on this.”

“You can’t just forfeit our money so easily.”

“She’ll only step down through combat. So shove your words up your ass.”

“Bang!”

People began dropping to the ground as if coordinated. Master A couldn’t stand under the pressure either as he also fell down. There were a few who were struggling to stand in the area. Visibly shaking like a leaf in the wind.

The girl pursed her lips. “We’ll finish this at the competition.” She hopped off the stage. Walking off with the old man.

Once out of sight, the pressure was relieved. Everyone stood up with fear in their eyes.

“That was ki pressure.”

"For pressure that strong it has to be a sky devourer."

One of the men who stood spoke out. “That man isn’t an ordinary sky devourer. I’m also in that realm and I could barely stand.”

“Seems we avoided a calamity.”

Raja Kint sat back down on the stage. With his earlier showing who would dare bet now? Even a well known ninth stage couldn’t beat him.
