The sun falls as the moon rises, orange coloring the horizon.
Raja Kint exhales after setting up an array surrounding the group. He looks at everyone doing their own thing to make sure they’re safe for the night.
Wan Kint says, “We’ll be leaving at first light.”
“Hopefully tomorrow night we’ll be on our way back to the sect.” Says Wu Yinu.
Raja Kint lies against a tree and takes in everything around him with his five senses. Tasting the scent of the wind. Breathing in the freshness of nature. Touching the earth beneath him. Listening to the sounds of the world and watching the moon rising.
After some time of sensing his surroundings, he fell into a meditative state. When the others tried to talk to him they realized this and didn’t bother breaking it.
To think everything works together so smoothly. Not paying much attention you would think these are all random sounds. In fact, they create a natural harmony of… music?
Soon the sky is blanketed in darkness and Raja Kint once again becomes enamored by the moon.
Without realizing it the trees, grass and even animals close by fell in sync with Raja Kint’s breathing.
Wu Yinu is the only person awake. And realizes something weird seems to be occurring but doesn’t know why she has the feeling. Her instincts are telling her it has to do with Raja Kint. As she looks at him she begins to feel her breathing slow to a rate that brings her in tune with her surroundings.
Feeling this she doesn’t break the state but immerses in it. Noticing that her mind was becoming clearer and her ki moving faster.
I’ve never heard of such a phenomenon before. Although I come from a lowly family, I think what he’s doing has to be incredible. I’ve never even heard of limbo realms doing anything similar to this.
She closes her eyes to focus on cultivating. Within just an hour she breaks through to the sixth outer ki realm shocking herself.
It should’ve been at least a few months but his meditation is impacting the surroundings.
Suddenly, she feels a supreme might land on her shoulders. As if a star was aiming to splatter her. What’s worse is she couldn’t pinpoint where it came from. Then she looked back toward Raja Kint. When she looked over she saw a star in each of Raja Kint's eyes with blood running down his nose.
Raja Kint rubs his head as his eyes return to normal, and lays down to sleep.
Wu Yinu looks incredulously at him. For a moment she knew the pressure was coming from him. It felt like she was looking at a star that she couldn’t bear to look at.
With his eyes returning to normal the environment returned to normal and her special state of enlightenment ended.
In the morning.
“Wake up junior brother it’s time for us to find the sky plant.”
Raja Kint opens his eyes to Wu Yinu smiling at him. Raja Kint rubs his head as he grumbles, “Why does my head hurt?”
“How was your night?” asks Wu Yinu.
“It was fine, did some meditation and guess I fell asleep at some point.”
“You don’t remember anything else?”
“No.” Raja Kint looks at Wu Yinu weirdly before realizing something.
“Congratulations on your breakthrough senior sister.”
With a beaming smile, Wu Yinu thanks him in kind.
After quickly gathering himself the four set off for the demon bear territory.
As they’re moving toward the territory. “Remember that we only stay in the outskirts. Worst case we meet a peak outer ki realm. We’ll try to stick to caves instead of their tribes.” says Wen Kint.
“It’s so annoying that it grows near the demon bear’s habitat. Maybe we should cook some. What do you say, junior brother!” says Yi Kint.
“Haha, I’ve never had demon bear meat before. I’m sure it’s a quality delicacy around here.”
“Haha, exactly what I was thinking.” bellows Yi Kint.
Soon Wan Kint stopped moving and everyone else followed.
“We should be at the perimeter of this territory now. Remember to stay vigilant at all times.”
Everyone became serious at once. Raja Kint looked around with curiosity.
A few demon bears weren’t going to scare him in the slightest. He was excited to see them for himself. Despite the creatures he saw in his home world. This world would give him a chance to see new creatures.
Raja Kint asked, “Do we know where to look or are we blind?”
Wan Kint responds, “We have some places to check out. On the outskirts, it’s a bit harder to find if you don’t go to a tribe. But the caves are safer on the alternative.”
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Why don’t we just attack a tribe? The strongest in the worst case is a peak outer ki realm. Not to mention with my array he won’t be able to harm us.”
“So then we split up? I think you’re too risk prone for your good.”
Raja Kint thought for a moment and couldn’t disagree. Fighting that man in the coliseum after he had just broken through. Plus in front of a crowd where anyone could’ve tried an attack was too risky. Realizing this Raja Kint felt shivers and decided to be much more careful.
Father did always say we must act with utmost vigilance.
Walking a little further they find their first cave. The entrance is five meters tall and four meters wide. With the cave staying this size further in.
The four go inside and travel for hundreds of steps before turning around and searching for other caves.
With this method, they searched three caves before they finally found an interesting cave.
Wu Yinu scrunches her nose, “This cave has such a stench of blood. Did the bear have a fresh meal?”
“Stay on guard.” Reminds Wan Kint as they enter.
After 600 paces they find a demon bear on the ground. With a red talisman embedded in its forehead.
Raja Kint raises his eyes at the talisman. Wondering what type it was and if it took down this outer ki realm demon bear.
As the four look at the bear, it suddenly twitches its nose and opens its eyes. Blood-red pupils staring at everyone present.
“This isn’t a normal demon bear. That talisman might be affecting its mind.” says Yi Kint.
“Is that talisman familiar to anyone?” asks Raja Kint. The look on their faces displayed that they were all confused.
The demon bear growls as it stands on its four paws. Wu Yinu and Wen Kint take the lead while Yi Kint trails right behind. Raja Kint decides he’ll get sneak attacks wherever he can. Mainly aiming for the talisman.
The demon bear rushes toward the group, swiping its paw at Wan Kint. He takes out a sword and slashes at the paw.
The blade spills blood as Wan Kint is sent flying backward. Wu Yinu took this chance to slice her sword through the demon bear's body causing it to wail in pain.
She takes a step back only for the bear to swipe a paw at her. She dodges under the paw creating more distance.
Wan Kint says, “You can just let us grab a simple flower and no one has to die today. Otherwise, you leave us no choice.”
Raja Kint notices a slight struggle in the demon bear eyes. Realizing the situation isn’t so straightforward.
“ROAR!”
The demon bear charges Yi Kint. The other two run to attack the demon bear in its blind spot.
Raja Kint says, “Pour your ki over here to activate the array.”
Yi Kint moves quickly and powers the Turtle Array. The demon bear slams into the array only to witness no result.
Two attacks plunge into the demon bear. Causing it to frantically slam into walls.
Once it calms down, right when the demon bear is about to pick a target. Raja Kint lands on its head, grabs at the talisman and pulls with all his might.
The demon bear shakes him off and Raja Kint flips midair landing on his feet. “That talisman isn’t ordinary at all, I couldn’t even get it to budge.”
“It seems that the bear won’t listen to reason. If this is the case then we aim for the head.” says Wan Kint.
Yi Kint steps out of the array with two short spears. Raja Kint pulls out his spear and notices the demon bear focusing on him.
The demon bear charges Raja Kint and he decides not to fight head-on. Instead, dodging and giving his teammates a chance. He didn’t want to show how incredible his talents truly were unless the situation commands it.
With the four of them surrounding the bear it only took a short while before its head is cut off.
Blood splatters on Wu Ying’s clothes after slicing the demon bear’s head. After complaining about the blood the three boys turned around and gave her a moment to change into new clothes.
The boys badly wanted to turn around. But seeing her slice off the demon bear head with such ferocity. Forced them to rein in their thoughts.
After changing, the four checked out the talisman and realized that they’d never seen it before. Raja Kint grabs the talisman, this time with no issue. Handing it to Wan Kint who scrunches his brows.
“We’ll search a little deeper but things may not be peaceful around these parts.”
The three nodded in agreement and went deeper. After a thousand paces, they find three people. Two standing and one meditating.
Between the two standing, both are men with the same red eyes as the demon bear. Yet, there seemed to be no talisman.
Yi Kint says, “Under the clothes.” The other three silently agreed with the statement. The issue with these two was that they were both seventh stage outer ki realm. And the man meditating gave off a powerful vibe.
“Peak outer ki realm,” says Wu Ying.
Hearing this Raja Kint's face drops, realizing that they’ve stumbled onto a horrible situation.
The man meditating opens his eyes. With black hair, black eyes and pale skin he looks at the four kids before him.
“It would seem some mice interrupted me. If you give me the talisman from the bear then you can leave with no troubles.”
Wan Kint responds, “Hand me a sky plant and we have a trade.”
The man frowns and points behind himself. Raja Kint's eyes followed to see the plant they’d been looking for.
“Toss the plant over.”
“Same time.”
“Sure.”
The man grabs the sky plant and hands it to the right man. He walks up to Wan Kint and presents the plant. Wan Kint presents the talisman and they make a trade.
A glint flashes through Raja Kint's eyes. “Senior if you don’t mind it seems you have a bit of trouble. Why don’t you send over a few plants free of charge.”
The pale man looks at Raja Kint and sneers. “Get lost boy.”
“Well, maybe our sect elders will be more amiable than me.”
The pale man smiles before saying, “Kill them.”
The man before Wan Kint reaches out and Wan Kint quickly slashes out. The man pulled back his hand only for a spear to pierce through his neck. Ripping his head from his body.
The pale-faced man loses the little color in his face. “HOW! You shouldn’t be capable of techniques at that level!”
Raja Kint sneered as he had just used his thrusting limbo spear art, catching the man completely off guard.
